Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SAP Concur for our Expense Management and Approval process. Our organization is spread across 38 countries and there are frequent travels for multiple teams to meet vendors, team members and clients. SAP Concur helps the Travel and Finance team to track the end to end expense management for travel and review approvals etc. This further helps us to have a one view for qll travel bookings whether its flight, hotel or any road transport

End to end approval and review process for all expenses

Cons

UI is old. Its still looks 90s UI
Portal is slow. Either it processes lots of data in backend or still on monolith system
Once you want to go back or cancel one part of journey, it becomes a nightmare

Return on Investment

One team can do all end to end travel processing for all regions
All employees can use the portal easily to book. Earlier we had a huge team to book travels
Expenses are available at one location

I use SAP Concur for bulk uploading reimbursement bills and sending them for approval. It's an intuitive platform that makes it easy for my team members, who aren't tech-savvy, to follow steps and get reimbursements efficiently after getting approval. The approval workflow was seamless. Scope : Client meetings reimbursement (International/ National), Internal Gift Purchase reward reimbursement etc.

Pros

I like that SAP Concur is an intuitive platform. You don't need to do a lot of research to be able to use it, which is great for team members who aren't very tech-savvy.
Approving Workflow: Approving bills is very easy. Its basic, but good.
Categorisation is very easy, travel expenses, car expenses gets clubbed and are filterable allowing me to quicky review my requests.

Cons

Last when i used, its image recognition had scope of improvement, especially considering the developments that came in recent technologies. Its been quite some time since I used it, they might have already worked upon it.
Cloning the bills, its a little difficult to clone the bills, each time I have to upload a new record.... even after cloning
Autfetching sometimes becomes difficult, in the age of AI, it should identify/recommend the category bill belongs to just by ingesting image of the bill along with other details.... like if i upload cab's proper bill (uber for e.g.) it should fetch to and fro and should know that its a travel bill.

We use Concur for our credit card solution. It solves the problems of the admin having to reach out for receipts or what the charge was for. It has an approval workflow which is very helpful and it posts to our QuickBooks online with a few short clicks. This has made credit card reconciliations very easy.

The scope of the use case is SAP Concur allows Corp Travel to track expenses, usage and non-compliance to provided governance to non-approved travel to reduce cost and waste.
