Conga Composer and Collaborate were used to automate rather fickle documents that needed a lot of fields modified on the fly. Conga allowed us to use templates that had pre-configured fields that would be pulled directly from Salesforce in order to save time with the actual creation process of the document. For templating purposes, CongaSign and Collaborate worked exceedingly well.

We use Conga Collaborate to create proposals for our form. It helps the marketing team respond to RFPs and other proposals very quickly and efficiently, with transparency among team members. We store our standard industry and service proposal templates in the software and also generate new ones with it. We can regularly update our templates and add new ones when we have a new service or industry.
  • Storage of templates for proposals.
  • Electronic signatures.
  • Transparency of edits among team members.
  • The UX is not always easy to make edits.
  • Sometimes the system seems slow.
  • Our account rep isn't very responsive.
I think it's not as robust for drag and drop edits as competitors. Pricing is competitive, but we have little interaction with our rep, and support is limited unless you add a support plan. I like having all of our proposal templates stored in one place and having transparency among which team member has made edits.

Conga Document Generation is highly used by the Clients in Health and Life Sciences Space, where they need to constantly send the document for Service Agreement, Change of Services, Confirmation of the Services, etc. Because Conga is a versatile tool that can be customised to pull data from related/unrelated objects this makes this tool a choice for me for my clients.

  • Clean and Neat information.
  • Different options to get the output as - Word, Excel, pfd, etc.
  • A level of training is required to hands-on an Admin level of a person to configure this on its own.
  • Certification Maintenance is relatively tough.
- Less appropriate when the client is looking for dynamic editing.
- Proved more Appropriate for the majority of my clients.

  • Whenever I need to work on a proposal, I try to do so cautiously out of fear of losing something important. I struggle to trust this tool.
  • The lack of support with implementation, the length of time to correct new errors caused by system updates, the amount of time required to customize templates and workflows.
  • It is difficult to reproduce contracts using the parent feature; the search feature is not robust enough.
We have integrated our paperwork into a central source that we send to customers at the same time, which is a significant improvement. It's helped us save time and energy. We use it for Adhoc letters to make it easy to customize for a customer. A great tool to tie into Salesforce.

Conga Document Generation can be a bit glitchy. We use it in salesforce for our quotes. It honestly seems like a better tool for the enterprise. We are very transactional. Hundreds of sales per month which isn't the best for Conga because of the time it takes to build out each quote.

  • It integrates with Salesforce pretty well.
  • It could be much faster for SMB teams.
  • It would be nice if there was more customization for organizations that have SMB, enterprise, mid-market instead of having it all used the same.
  • Their support team could be a little stronger/quicker to help.
I think it's definitely better suited for enterprise teams that are doing bigger more complex deals. With SMB we need the signup process to be extremely quick and simple since we do so many sales per month. It is pretty easy to use, but just not that quick.

We use it in conjunction with Salesforce CPQ so users can create quotes associated with opportunities and then press create quote, and it pulls in all legal documents as well as quote information into one succinct PDF that the user can then send off to their potential customer and get approved. It's made our selling process much more efficient.

It's well suited for CPQ users and makes it easy for us to have everything in one place. We have to be able to get quotes out quickly for us to win jobs.

We are a consulting firm and partner with Conga and use all conga products like conga composer, conga contracts, Conga Sign, and conga batch. We implemented conga solutions for various clients. One of the companies uses composer to send the contracts generated by conga contracts using composer and Conga Sign. Also, to generate the royalty statement using conga composer with conga batch.

  • To generate any document like credit memo, royalty statements.
  • Conga batch converts the button URL to formulate, send, or download statements in bulk.
  • Increase the batch size of conga batch from 200.
  • Make composer debug log more clear to make the issue resolve quickly.
  • Some composer parameters are not available to add directly from the solution builder.
We think Conga suite solutions are best to use if you want to generate multiple documents and send these documents to multiple users or contacts. Conga composer with Conga Sign and Conga batch makes work a lot easy and helps to save a lot of time. Document generation is now really easy and effective.

Conga [Document Generation] is being used by our Document and Funding team. Conga is the main way that we generate and send our documents to customers in an efficient manner.

Conga [Document Generation] is great if you have a team that needs to generate the same document many times, but with different information, all pulled from your CRM. This takes the time out of changing documents to fit the need you are using it for, and rather automates the entire process. If you are not using this program often (multiple times per day) then it may not be worth your money to get [it].

We used the Conga Doc Generation to help us within our sales organization for contract customization and creation. Before Conga, we were just using the generic Salesforce contract composer and our documents were very bland and not very appealing to the customer. After implementing Conga, we were able to customize our contracts dynamically and it was a lot better experience for our sales reps and our customers.

Anyone that needs customization of their documents and the ability to do more than just the generic out of the box Salesforce capabilities will enjoy Conga [Document Generation]. The only problem is if there is a high document volume, the pricing didn't scale well for our organization. That was the only drawback.

Conga Composer is one of the best document management systems available in the market for businesses. It is best in terms of document-driven approaches and commercial operations. I have been using this platform in my organization for a very long time and it has been very helpful in document management and document operations. It has the best feature of analyzing the document and maintaining the quality of the document.

  • Conga Composer helps to create a document that has professional look which helps me to sustain the quality of documents.
  • The great feature that is helping me a lot and I am using in the organization is their template builder is very effective, it can create a template based on the needs and generate a report on that template.
  • The biggest drawback that I am facing for a long time that the formula editor feature is slow.
  • If I upload the new version of the document but the formula editor still shows the same old document instead of a new one, to solve this I have to delete all the previous versions of the file to make it work fine again. [I believe] this error needs a lot of attention to solve as soon as possible.
Conga Composer is helping me a lot in my organization in managing the document information and creation of documents on a professional level. The ability to design templates and great customer support makes it more effective to use. There is still a need for updates to be more suitable for us. Other than, I would recommend this to other business to use Conga Composer in their organization.

The product does good for one specific merge template, but it needs additional products from conga to provide automation for more than one letter. Eg. donor one needs June letter, donor two needs May letter, donor 3 needs a regular donor letter. You would have to separate the donors into different merge as it can only do one letter at a time out of the box.

We use Conga Composer across nearly all functional groups in three main ways:
  • Email generation, as it provides more flexibility than Salesforce
  • Report generation, as it allows us to format and combine data from various objects via queries
  • Document generation, as it is more efficient and saves our end users time creating documents
  • Allow for highly customized logic by allowing you to pull data into Excel and then manipulate it from there
  • Singe-click experience for end-users that can be designed by admins
  • Highest level of flexibilty among all similar products
  • Reliability, in particular with their API offering which doesn't seem to be in development anymore
  • Cost, this has dramatically increased during the lifetime of our contract
  • Error reporting, it can be very challenging to find the source of issues within complex solutions
[Conga Composer is well suited for] email, document, and report generation. We are also considering migrating from DocuSign to CongaSign as the pricing model makes a lot more sense for our business model.

I have tried their newer processes for template building and prefer the manual approach, but I would say you need a somewhat technical person if you want to create highly custom solutions.

We use Conga Composer to design and print applications, contracts, budget materials, proposals, and board review materials. Our Conga Composer implementation includes template[s] in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as custom Conga Email templates to supplement out of the box Salesforce template functionality. Finally, we also use Conga Batch and Conga Sign to further leverage Conga functionality.

I am a big fan of Conga Composer and I find that it is well suited for organizations that require complex merges, with data from multiple custom or standard objects arranged in tables. I think my organization has only just scratched the surface of everything we can do with solution parameters - despite being a super user and a certified Conga Composer professional! There are so many options and so much usefulness, it will take time to really dive in and leverage everything that Conga has to offer. For organizations that need to merge simple donation acknowledgement letters, Conga is probably too complex. Apsona offers a competitive product for that use case.

Currently, we use Conga to provide our client's reports like improvement plans and transcripts that pulls information from a variety of objects within Salesforce. We have created buttons for our internal users to be able to pull the information quickly. We use it for queries that then pull into reports. The format of the reports can be created with branding and a nicer feel than Salesforce provides.

At the company where I used [Conga] Composer, our implementation allowed us to generate forms based on any number of custom objects and fields. In financial services, these forms can be immensely complex and require information from every corner of a Salesforce org. However disappointed my team would get with other integrations that struggled with what felt like should be inherent functionality and uptime, Composer and the Conga team in general were always on point. In 3 years, we experienced a total of less than 30 minutes of downtime, and upgrades to the integration were seamless and well-documented. I stand by Conga as a company and Composer as a product. The best Salesforce integration I have ever used.

We use Conga Composer to generate order forms and other documents from Salesforce to streamline our sales process. Generally, it will pull applicable data straight from our opportunity object and generate a downloadable document that can be shared with prospects and customers either via email or sent via DocuSign. Primarily used by sales and customer success teams.

Our team utilizes Conga Collaborate as a hub for all sales collateral and documents. We have it integrated with Salesforce.com Opportunity stages so that our Opportunity info populates in the templates in Conga. We also utilize the e-signature piece for contracts. We are able to see when someone views a document and when it's been signed.

Their support team is top-notch--very quick to reach out to help on any issues or questions we have.

We use Conga Composer for our Sales Order form process Org wide. The main component being used is Conga Templates with Composer and DocuSign to form our fully digital SF integrated ordering process. We currently have about 20 actively used Conga Templates.

Very well suited for Salesforce Integration for Ordering processes. Templates can be combined with DocuSign to form a fully digital sales ordering process from start to finish in Salesforce.
Support has been pretty good when used. They are very good with proactive notifications of any system issues.

We were intending to use this software to create composite documents in tandem with Salesforce. As it turns out we found an alternative solution to our needs utilizing some features that are already built info Salesforce. Conga was recommended to us by a technology partner and we signed up for a year's use. Unfortunately, we did not fully engage with the realization that we were not using this product until it was renewed for another year, at which point it was noticed in an accounting review and we began a conversation with Conga about correcting this and reversing the renewal. Conga agreed that they could see that we were not using the product and initially stuck to their contract terms that offer no refunds. After reaching out to their management we were able to get a partial refund that has removed most of our frustration with this error and left us feeling somewhat heard by Conga.

  • This company initially refused to refund anything but reviewed this case and decided that they would refund partially
  • I am reassured that they are listening to their customers. You may have to take a stand to be heard, but in the end they listened

Conga is used to create complex docs within Salesforce that can't be done natively. Creating multiple work orders for a shipping team as well as mass updating orders once docs are created.

  • It can be pricey
It is well suited for times when someone needs to add in multiple data points across different objects into a single sheet, for example: when you want to mass create multiple pages for many records at once (like a mailing list).
Haven't used support much, but good documentation so solid rating here
Takes a lot to set up initally but once it is then it's solid so need to get over that hump first

We use it to generate statements of work (SOWs) during the final stage of our sales process. It offers a consistent look at our contracts. It is used by our entire organization. It allows us to track revisions and client questions. It integrates with Salesforce and when a SOW is signed, the opp is closed, or "won", which saves us time during our process. It also allows us to track when people are in the SOW and monitor what they spend time on which is helpful.
  • Looks good, our SOW has a clean look and feel and is very easy to read on all devices
  • Offers to track. You can view all the pages someone looks at. This helpful when determining when the project will close.
  • Multiple revisions. Really easy to make multiple updates to the SOW and keep track of those revisions.
  • Formatting is weak. Sometimes the UX for bold, underline, etc. do not work well. Copy and paste functionality can be buggy at times.
  • At times, we have a difficulties with the connection between SFDC and the tool, and sometimes the SOW does not appear in the opportunity record in SFDC.
  • Takes a while to get it looking good in terms of a final SOW. It can be time consuming and not very easy to learn as a beginner.
It works or our organization. For an organization with a much larger product sales scope, I could see it being clunky to format every single time. I have used other tools in the past like SFDC CPQ. Octiv seems, to me, to be the same thing. Web based proposal tool that offers to track, and e-signing. It seems to work for us.

We use Octiv to create customized, branded digital proposals across the entire outbound and internal sales teams. It streamlines the creation of proposals while also allowing each to be personalized to prospects.

Octiv is particularly useful in situations where your key solutions can be boiler plated while still adding some room for customization. If your proposals need to be completely custom for every client, you likely will be frustrated with the editing interface.

Conga Composer actually came bundled as part of a FinancialForce implementation. It was used as a solution to create sales invoices, sales credit notes, and remittances.

It solves the issue you can have with Salesforce when you wish to pull information into documents that can be conditional or tabled information that is held in related lists. This is without the need to move into Visualforce and Apex coding.
  • Deals with complex merges of data into a document.
  • Integrates into Salesforce, rather than sitting as a separate program.
  • Works well with other pieces of software like Adobe Sign and Financial Force.
  • While it is a much easier experience than using code to arrive at a document solution, it can still get VERY technical. Beyond the click and drag style of document that you see in the demonstrations.
  • When it goes wrong, finding out WHERE it has gone wrong can be maddening. There is a lot of support out there but that sometimes translates to a vast amount of options to investigate when troubleshooting.
It is useful when you are dealing with complex data merges. For example, making a document that references a parent object, pulls in a table of information from a related object, displays certain pieces of information conditionally. Imagine terms and conditions where you want certain ones to appear in certain scenarios, or if you wanted to pull in a list of itemised items from a related object off an account (i.e. show all related Account Sites from a custom Site object).

We are using Conga Composer to populate a variety of forms that are respectively used regularly in their department. These forms range from supporting our claims process with customers to bid submittals on the sales side. It is allowing us to reduce time in the claims management process. For bid submittals it creates consistency, reduces time creating the bid and allows us to track multiple iterations of the bid.

  • We needed to use an implementation partner to set these up, but I think that is symptomatic of Salesforce and not this program
We keep finding new uses for Conga Composer. If you have a process that requires data entry plus form submission, you will find this tool incredibly useful. We have reduced the amount of time spent entering duplicate data and have increased efficiency in three processes that have been moved into Salesforce and are facilitated by Conga Composer. If your processes do not require form submission, it may not be as beneficial to you.
