Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I use Connectify Hotspot when traveling, which has been ideal for remote work. It allows me to access my emails and any other internet needs on the go, which has been extremely helpful when in areas without public Wi-Fi. It is nice as well that I don't have to carry a physical hotspot with me either.

  • Simplicity with being right on your computer
  • Automatic security
Cons
  • Not very responsive on support issues
  • Can occasionally disconnect and not easily reconnect
  • Can be slow occasionally
Likelihood to Recommend
Connectify Hotspot would be good for those that travel often and need to have internet access at all times (without having to find a public place with Wi-Fi). From my experience, it isn't as reliable as being connected to standard internet as it can disconnect occasionally, but it performs better than other hotspot options.

Alternatives Considered
Connectify is much simpler, in my opinion, than using a mobile phone for hotspot as well as more reliable. While Connectify does occasionally disconnect, it is far less often than when I have used my mobile device. It is easier as well when it is right there on your computer, so you are not having to fix any issues going back and forth between devices.

I have used Connectify as a laptop hotspot, it really helped me expand the wifi network from my LAN device to other devices. Generally, we don't really have multiple Ethernet LAN ports available as Switches are costly which is not a feasible solution for SOHO (Small Office Home Office) environment). And with Connectify, WiFi can be extended, and most of the devices can support WiFi, so multiple devices can be connected with even limited LAN ports available.
Pros
  • It can expand the WiFi network or LAN network.
  • Multiple devices can be connected with the same network, which eases the burden of securing multiple Internet connections, as we use a single Internet connection.
  • Devices such as Printers, Scanners, IoT devices can be connected with same Network.
  • It removes the need for Having a Physical WiFi router. This helps save some money, which is critical for Small Office Home Office.
Cons
  • Connectify has very big competition with Mobile Hotspot, they should add some more features.
  • Connectify has software Speedify, however, this has very limited features when combining two different Internet connections.
  • Connectify needs to find a way of combining different Internet Connections, they should use QOS when doing that. So that they can give the best path for preferred traffic.
  • Connectivity should add multiple SD-WAN features. And they should give users more granular control over which path traffic can go.

Connectify is well suited for SOHO (Small Office Home Office) environment, where we may want to save some cost by not buying the physical switch or physical Wifi router, as they are costly. Also with Connectify, there is a way possible for better connection control. Better device control and at some point it helps in Secure the Internet as we just need to have one single Internet connection to secure.

Alternatives Considered
Connectify is always the first choice, as there multiple Wifi hotspot software are available, but with very limited function. However, Connectify has different solutions such as Speedify which also makes it a very favorable choice.

The Connectify Hotspot software, just like other virtual router software, allows us to turn any of our computers into a mobile/wifi hot spot. This not only helps with connectivity issues caused by faulty physical routers but also can be used as a wifi extender so that the more remote areas of the office are covered.

  • Bypass internet access restrictions.
  • Ease of use.
  • Network usage monitoring.
Cons
  • Connection stability can be hit or miss sometimes.
  • The UI is a bit outdated.
  • Ads all over.
Likelihood to Recommend
The Connectify Hotspot software is well suited for scenarios where you need to monitor wifi usage, convert your personal computer into a wifi hot spot or control the internet traffic going through the hot spot. Some other alternatives have similar set of features, but for free. This can make it a bit difficult to recommend it.

Alternatives Considered
Compared to Baidu WiFi Hotspot, Connectify Hotspot shares a similar set of features. Except for a few here and there, nothing is remarkable about Connectify's offerings. The fact that there are some free alternatives like Baidu's which can perform better in some cases can make it hard to recommend this app.
