  • Remote access to computers.
  • Reconnecting after a reboot or switching between user profiles on the same computer.
  • Recording of sessions so that we cannot be help responsible for something we did not do.
  • Multiple sessions where one employee can work on 3 concurrent computers at the same time.
  • Upgrading clients sometimes is an issue where we eventually have to uninstall and reinstall.
  • The capabilities of enabling the audio device on the computer we are managing so that we can hear what the computer is putting out. This functionality might be available and if it is I don't know how to implement it.
  • Should do more webinars to demonstrate what the platform can do.

  • The ability to execute commands from the Control console is very effective.
  • Sessions have settings to reduce the resolution for times when bandwidth is at a premium. You can manually reduce the data for the session this way.
  • A URL and a 5 digit access code are all that are need to initiate a session for an end user. It is very user-friendly.
  • When initiating a session, an end user needs approve the download of the agent, approve User Account Control access, and to click to open the client. A streamlined process would be preferred.
  • The technician must click a box at the top of the interface to chat with end-user. This would be better as a constant sidecar to the interface screen.
  • The tools for the session are all at the top of the interface. It would be better if they were at the bottom like a taskbar.

  • the remote control task bar bugs out more than it should
  • when doing a remote session from the support tab, only some times it prompts for adminstrator access when this access is needed. most of the time it just just black screen when UAC input is required.
  • it does not scale well when more than 2 monitors are involved in a remote session

  • Small download and CPU/Memory footprint makes ConnectWise Control stand out.
  • You do NOT need to use the rest of the ConnectWise suite of products to use ConnectWise Control
  • There are a lot of very smart options that make the program easy to use for IT, support professionals.
  • Honestly, there's not much criticism I can throw at ConnectWise Control.
  • They update their client a lot, so seeing that your client is out of date often can be off-putting... but a super minor issue because they're ACTUALLY updating things!

  • The interface is easy to use and makes sense. It's easy to understand how to organize a large number of machines involving multiple clients. But, it's also applicable for smaller set of machines too.
  • The connection speed is very quick. I've used solutions in the past that take a variable amount of time to connect, or they just take a long time every time. Control is quick every time. It doesn't get in the way of being able to support the machines on the other end.
  • The connections are reliable. I haven't experienced random disconnects throughout hundreds of instances. It was a breath of fresh air coming from the previous solution we used. I consider Control a gold standard for what a great remote connection solution can be.
  • I recall the integration with Automate was pretty good. However, I ran into some issues trying to fix a connection issue back to the Control environment. I felt the interface for working with they integration connection could be easier to work with.
  • There should other recovery options if the multi-factor method is lost or breaks. As long as you have multiple admin accounts, this shouldn't be an issue. And I believe support can help with recovery as well. I just know most services let you use a recovery phone or email to get around that. Maybe this has been changed or I missed something as well.

  • The Remote Terminal feature was amazing, it gave us the ability to remotely run scripts and find info we needed without interrupting the user.
  • The responsiveness of the remote console is quick and helps in troubleshooting.
  • Deployment on Mac and Linux works, but it is not as fluid and easily done as Windows.

  • Provides reliable, secure connection to control remote computers.
  • Allows for both "permanent" connections for regular clients, as well as short-term, on-demand connections for one-off clients.
  • It's a very affordable solution for a small IT support business like mine.
  • While ConnectWise Control has an app to allow me to use it from my Android phone, the app is somewhat difficult to use. Part of the problem is just that it's not easy to control a desktop computer from a small phone screen. There is certainly room for improvement here.

  • Access is through a small app that can be pre-installed on company machines, so the user does not need to interact at all other than to request support in the first place. The ability to connect without requiring user input is huge.
  • Connecting to a machine for the first time when you do not have access installed is a simple process and the easiest one I've found so far for users to do.
  • I can see UAC prompts.
  • Organizing connected machines is very easy.
  • Removing decommissioned machines could be more intuitive.
  • Settings per organizational unit would be good too. If they are there I still need to find them.
  • The ability to choose different color schemes.

  • Multiple uses (support, meetings, remote access)
  • Support from developers has become very problematic and poor since they were acquired by ConnectWise.
  • Numerous issues with more recent versions of products (and updating to more recent versions) - ever since the ConnectWise acquisition (with not many useful features in more recent versions).
