Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Contractor Foreman is our central hub for Project, Employee, and Operations management for the entire company. One of the best things it does is handle project management and estimating in one place. It's nice to have a customer start as a lead, be 'escalated' up to a full project, and have a single spot where everything is tracked.

Pros

  • Project Management for Construction.
  • Estimation for construction work and CSV import of large datasets from estimation software like Handoff.
  • Employee time and location management.
  • Cost codes and financial breakdowns.

Cons

  • Timecards in rural areas are really difficult to handle. I know CF just released an offline timecard beta, which is a step in the right direction, but it would be nice to have offline data in the app and to have all timecards be offline until clockout, when they try to sync back to the server. The current beta doesn't work for us because it creates multiple timecards when the guys are in and out of signal.

Return on Investment

  • Contractor Foreman offers a great price for everything it handles. It saves us a lot of time by having a single source of truth for each project.
  • The one downside is that it doesn't have enough ORG level data; you have to manually calculate total projects rather than it showing you the "CEO View" so to speak.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Contractor Foreman for everything. As a small but scaling Commercial GC Company, we needed structure. We are growing from a husband-and-wife team into a boots-on-the-ground team with project managers for multiple projects and project sizes. The system allows me to schedule the boots where I need them, track financials, easily manage projects, perform progress/AIA billing, invoicing, and so much more. I run the entire business through Contractor Foreman and look forward to the new features rolling out.

Pros

  • Invoicing
  • Payment tracking.
  • Customizable
  • User Friendly.

Cons

  • In the CDB, I'd like to be able to create a line item with a specified percentage, and when I pull that line item into an estimate or proposal, I'd like the system to automatically calculate it based on that contract value. (Example, Contingency line is always going to be 15% of the contract value).
  • I'd like to be able to rearrange "blocks" on a page when I'm getting ready to send or print it. Lots of dead space on pages. Estimates 4 pages in total when it could be 2.
  • I'd like to be able to create budget summaries. Where the line items are grouped into their respective master format categories, and the category has the sum of all the line items in that category.

Return on Investment

  • It's been amazing so far. IT is extremely helpful to us to streamline and create new processes.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

This platform helps streamline productivity by keeping all the jobsite information in one location that can be accessed remotely. Builds to schedules and estimates. Gain approval for budgets from customers and request estimates from subs all in one area. Employees are able to clock in and check off to-dos from their phones. Different style access to the website and app allow supervisors to monitor employees involvement and production. The website is easy to use with a ton of resources for asking questions or figuring out how to achieve a task and if the task hasn’t been yet added, the creators are open to suggestions and always updating the tools of the platform.

Pros

  • Estimates
  • Schedules
  • Organization
  • Updating for new tools
  • Time clocks
  • To-dos check list
  • Monitoring production across the company

Cons

  • They are good at answering questions or offering other options.
  • I wish the calendar could be printed quicker for sharing with customer. It capable of doing month to month but a full project in a customer view would be better

Return on Investment

  • The lack of needing to go to an office to father hardcopy information in a city that has the biggest land mass is highly positive since the drive time could be over an hour one way when it could be on your phone at any needed moment
