Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

Horrid. I have gone back and forth with their so-called customer service regarding the bogus variances of monthly charges. I'm forced to stick with this company as they continue to charge me $41 every month (their highest plan) saying I have more than 5,000 pages when I do not. Their page scanner scans unique search results as separate pages, which I believe is ludicrous. They won't offer a refund for the months of overcharging. To make matters worse, these thieves also have the arrogance to flash their annoying large logo on the consent pop-up, even though I'm a paying customer, which they make unnecessarily difficult to remove by forcing you to insert some code to the CSS of your website. How about just having the option to remove it in the settings like every other sensible company? They are criminals, fair and square. If they change the policies I've mentioned above, I will gladly revise this review. Until then, I stand by my comments.
  • Design
  • REMOVE your annoying logo
  • STOP overcharging
  • GDPR COMPLIANCE
  • Negative impact on my ROI due to blatant overcharging

We are using it as a cookie consent management platform for our client's websites. Because our client's services have to be compliant with GDPR regulations. It plays its role very well on the first projects so we are recommending this solution to our clients.
  • Cookie sonsent management
  • Compliance with GDPR
  • Multilanguage support
  • There is no such feature
Cookiebot by Usercentrics is well suited for cookie consent management. It provides full compliance with The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as we are an EU-based company so most of our clients. Whatsmore this tool also ensures compliance with The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
  • Ensures compliance with the GDPR and the CCPA
  • Easy to implement and use
  • It shorten ship of the product
We used board labs for WordPress websites. We also look for a termly solution. And for those Cookiebot by Usercentrics was better for our clients because it wasn't bound to any specific platform. Moreover, in our opinion, it has the best price/quality ratio.

Cookiebot is used in our web applications and websites in order to conform to GDPR regulations in the European Union. Cookiebot lets admins/development teams categorize the cookies used by their websites and applications and describe what type of information these cookies track. Cookiebot also allows admins and development teams to provide a consent dialog whenever users visit their sites. Finally, Cookiebot audits these cookies on a regular basis, in case cookies were added inadvertently or were modified in any way.
  • Describe and categorize the cookies used by a website or application.
  • Audit cookies used by websites or applications on a monthly basis, providing you a report of the cookies being used.
  • Provide Consent Management of the cookies being used in order to comply with GDPR regulations.
  • The organization of the environments where Cookiebot is being used requires a slight learning curve and some getting used to.
  • Viewing user's cookie preferences is a little cumbersome.
Cookiebot is well suited for any company that manages and/or maintains websites and applications, particularly with expectations of having European audiences. Even for non-European audiences, Cookiebot is a nice privacy tool that enables users to manage their cookie preferences. Cookiebot is not so well suited for teams that manage internal only applications and sites, it's primarily for public facing sites and applications.
  • Cookiebot has allowed us to comply entirely with GDPR with a nice, zero code solution, allowing us to do business in Europe literally overnight.
Cookiebot provides a nice solution that encompasses not only the cookie consent banner for your users but also manages the cookies themselves, as well as audits your sites and applications. The alternatives, as far as I know, do not provide all of these solutions. Cookie Consent lets you configure the banner to your liking and lets you download the code to implement in your sites/applications, but it doesn't let you manage the cookies, and doesn't seem to provide audits of your sites of any kind. That's just based on the research done when we were looking for a solution.

We implemented Cookiebot as a mechanism to comply with GDPR legislation. The app runs on our marketing website and allows users to opt-out of certain types of tracking and cookies. The app provided us with a one-stop-shop of functionality needed to comply with GDPR. That being cookie-killing, the cookie declaration, as well as providing a link to easily review and change cookie consent at a later date. The other value that Cookiebot provides is the monthly cookie scan which looks at all the cookies on your website and generates a report of new and changed cookies. We download the HTML file each month and look at the list of cookies to determine if there are any that need to be re-classified. You'd be surprised how often third-party services change their cookies which get piped onto your website (I'm talking about you Intercom!), and Cookiebot catches them and automatically adds them to the cookie declaration.
  • Cookie scan and automatically-generated cookie declaration are awesome. Saves so much time and basically eliminates the work needed to maintain compliance with GDPR
  • Setup was actually surprisingly easy even though it's entirely DIY. The documentation was surprisingly good, and implementing through Google Tag Manager was a very elegant solution to controlling website cookies and scaling future use of the app
  • I was very pleased with the price for what Cookiebot offers. I looked at other solutions when deciding on a GDPR cookie compliance vendor and Cookiebot was the most reasonably priced for what we were looking for.
  • The back-end user interface is a bit clunky. It can be annoying to navigate around at times (until you get used to it)
  • Front-end branding and visual control are extremely limited. You're stuck with very few options for how the Cookiebot popup presents on your website. For now, it's acceptable, but Cookiebot will absolutely need to update this at some point in order to stay relevant.
  • I've had issues with the in-app credit card payment system where it wouldn't proceed to the checkout. We resolved this by trying to do the payment in a different currency which did seem to help.
  • The cookie scan has some fields that are cryptic which appear from time to time. It would be nicer if the labels were more user-friendly as visitors to our cookie declaration are not apt to look up the definitions on Cookiebot's website.
Any situation where a business needs to implement user-level control and consent over cookies from a website or web app is a suitable place to implement Cookiebot. It has a great deal of flexibility in how you trigger/kill cookies, and in how the user can activate or view features like re-visiting the consent popup at a later date or viewing the cookie declaration. They've really made Cookiebot into a component for your existing website rather than a standalone app.
  • A low-cost way to maintain GDPR compliance from a Cookie standpoint.
  • Eliminated or reduced overhead costs associated with trying to keep up with cookie declarations and classifications.
  • Provided a fast, scalable way to add new cookies in the future while maintaining GDPR compliance without requiring a developer (via Google Tag Manager custom triggers).
I briefly compared Cookiebot to two other vendors (I no longer recall the names). I quickly realized from their websites that the other vendors were cost-prohibitive (and also offered a much broader set of functionality). In our case, we simply wanted a way to manage our cookie consent at a low cost, and so Cookiebot was the ideal choice.

With the enforcement of GDPR looking in May of 2018, our organization needed to find a way to inform all visitors to our website of our use of cookies and our privacy policies. At that time our hosting company did provide a blanket "check yes or no" type of statement but we felt that didn't provide enough data. With the implementation of Cookiebot, we were able to track the cookie information and the opt-out and opt-in information necessary to meet some of the requirements of GDPR.
  • Automatically tracks existing and new cookies and sends a monthly report to IT to be reviewed.
  • Tracks all opt-in and opt-out information which can be downloaded and reviewed if necessary.
  • Integrates with many different website platforms and is easy to install.
  • You can customize the message in a variety of ways.
  • It is so cost-effective and easy to use that I can't imagine doing anything differently.
For organizations that are hosting their website on sites like Wix, GoDaddy, etc., Cookiebot is the perfect solution. Within ten minutes you can have your new banner displayed on your page and collecting data. While I would think large companies could benefit from this technology, I feel it may be more geared towards SMB with either someone in the IT department or even administration who could easily configure and install.
  • Positive - Cookiebot has checked the box for one of the requirements of GDPR compliance.
  • Positive - Cookiebot is a "set it and forget it" solution that once configured correctly could potentially keep your organization from facing heavy finds due to non-compliance.
In comparing the offering from our hosting company against Cookiebot, Cookiebot was the winner hands down. Easy to set up, use and monitor it met all of the criteria we had used in our search and at a reasonable price.
