Cornerstone Practice Management Software is being used by our whole organization. It was implemented to remove our previous manual, paper-based process. It is being used to streamline the annual performance management process from annual goal setting through year end performance management.
Takes annual goals set up at the beginning of the year and puts them in the performance management process for employees to begin their self-evaluations.
Routes from employee, to manager, to second-level manager, to HR, for review and then sends back to all for acknowledgment and sign-off.
It sends out automatic emails prompting everyone included in the process to begin the process, prompt them through the process and emails when the process is complete.
The process to actually set up the performance management template is more complicated than it should be.
Setting up the performance management task process is also a little complicated. I do not think it is as user-friendly as it could be. It took a lot of assistance from a Cornerstone implementation specialist to get the process set up.
It would be nice to be able to remove some features that are hard coded in the performance management template. We have no need for the Tasks & Targets part of the template, however they could not be removed and really confused our employees.
It is well suited for larger organizations to remove the need to manually track down where a performance review is at any given time, you can always find where it is in the system. It does require a lot of dedicated support to launch the process so I do not believe it would work as well in smaller organizations where you may not have the extra time or "hands" it takes to build and test the template and process.
I don't have hard numbers, but it saved HR a ton of time from constantly having to track down reviews. When done through the manual process, it could take a full year to get a completed reviews into our HR file.
I was told that this was one of the easiest review cycles the manager has ever experienced at our company.
