I use CSI Watchdog as a platform to perform some due diligence on the individuals that we intend to hire and organizations that we intend to recruit to make sure that we do not find ourselves working with people considered to be the realist who would then impact the reputation of our organization negatively.
  • Individual vetting.
  • Multiple vetting.
  • Viewing screening reports.
  • The lack of template that can be used by novice users can be a huddle.
  • I find it's UI a little basic, therefore improving on it would make it more competitive.
CSI Watchdog is a great tool when carrying out individual vetting or multiple vetting and can help trace and trace elements that have been placed on red alert, allowing organizations to work with individuals whose reputation is not questionable. However, making entries on its screen can be a daunting task, especially for new users. One needs to familiarise themselves with these tools before one gains some level of proficiency and competence.
  • Individual vetting.
  • Multiple vetting.
  • We have been able to trace and track many red lists within a short period of time.
  • Through CSI watchdog we are able to carry out batch vetting.
CSI Watchdog is easy to deploy and provides a variety of products, including compliance news, and management, sample plans, financial assessments, and performance dashboards, unlike other competing products. It is a very robust tool that can be customized to suit one's business needs allowing individuals and organizations to work with people whose reputation is unquestionable.

We use CSI WatchDOG as a vetting tool to perform basic background checks on individuals/organizations/entities working with our project. As we are a US Government implementer, it is mandatory for us to ensure that none of the individuals we work with are on any sort of prohibited or red list. CSI WatchDOG gives us a one-stop solution for such checks. I mostly run the vetting for our international operations.
  • Vetting individuals
  • Choice to use multiple red lists
  • Option to run batch vetting
  • User interface can be upgraded
  • Batch vetting can be strengthened by showing a list of individuals vetted in the processed report
  • There should be an option for 'templates' to save time, where some details are pre-filled
CSI WatchDOG is a vetting tool, and in that, it is quite good. It has the ability to perform checks on individuals as well as groups. For the latter, there is a handy option to simply add a list of individuals from an Excel sheet directly onto the system. This is quite time-efficient. There is also the option to choose from multiple lists of prohibited individuals and entities maintained in the system.

Overall, CSI WatchDOG is simple to use. However, the user interface could use an upgrade. I believe the main purpose behind the software is functionality, and CSI WatchDOG is quite good at being functional. But user interface upgrades could make the software easier on the eye as well. Also, some often repeated options can be automated for further ease of use.
  • Individual vetting
  • Batch vetting
  • Viewing / printing screening reports
  • Helped us reduce US government non-compliance to almost zero
  • Has made vetting a painless and quick task
  • Our international teams are also using this tool, so we have international compliance as well
The only other product I have used is the System for Award Management (SAM), maintained by the US Government. Compared to this, CSI WatchDOG is much more reliable and has more options. I also believe the batch vetting/screening option in CSI WatchDOG gives it a definite edge over SAM.
