D-Link Ethernet Switches have proven to be valuable tools for various organizations and industries, addressing a range of connectivity challenges. From supporting and accessing areas not covered by main switch stacks to meeting both emergency and daily demands, these switches have shown their adaptability in diverse environments. Users and other end devices are directly connected to the switches, which are then uplinked to the distribution and core layer, ensuring reliable network performance.

One notable use case of D-Link Ethernet Switches is in K12 Texas Schools, where they are deployed on every campus and building, providing a consistent and stable network connection. Prior to implementing these switches, the organization faced frequent switch malfunctions and unknown connectivity problems, which caused significant disruptions. However, since adopting D-Link Ethernet Switches, the network conjunction issues have been resolved, allowing for seamless configuration of VLANs.

In addition to the education sector, D-Link Ethernet Switches have also found prominence in industry environments, thanks to their reliability and ease of configuration. Each department within organizations can have its own switches tailored to their specific needs, ensuring efficient company-wide network connectivity. These switches have become indispensable tools for companies looking for dependable network solutions that can handle their unique requirements.

Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

I use D-Link Ethernet Switches for support and access in places where my main switch stacks are not covered. The equipment I use belongs to the business line, is manageable, PoE and has a high workload capacity. They are efficient equipment that meet both emergency and daily demands. Adaptable to various environments.
  • Access control via VLANs
  • Relatively easy configurations
  • Application of functional QoS
  • Poor Graphical Interface
  • Switching between PoE and direct power does not work well, causing several reboots on the device
  • Slightly poor equipment housing quality
The focus of the equipment is SoHo, that is, small businesses or companies and even domestic use. It meets these scenarios very well. Using for large scale, they can present difficulties to maintain throughput, that is, its use in large networks can be difficult to maintain. Another issue to be taken into account is technical assistance, they are not as agile as the competition.

The basic problem was Lan and internet distribution from 1 point to another point. So we need ethernet switches that are reliable in the industry environment. So we purchase D-link ethernet switches because they are reliable products and easy to configure. We use company-wide. Each department has its own switches according to department size. We provide and install 1 or more ethernet switch(es) in each department.
  • D-link provides industry specific switches according to industries environment.
  • D-link products are reliable, good and easy to configure.
  • Provides a very good interface monitoring tool.
  • Pre-relational with this D-Link
  • Needs some fancy switches to our head office.
  • Needs LED penal attached with switches.
  • Needs more cooling fan in switches.
In our company/industry in some areas are hot and some areas are very cold. So D-Link Switches are working fine in both environments.

D-Link, no doubt is the best brand and the best switches that we ever used. We have it across all our organizations. Network conjunction and other related problems have been solved by it and have configured VLANs over it. But the product is so awesome, that I recommend most of them use it.
  • Cheapest of all.
  • Durable in all aspects.
  • More functionalities in less price.
  • Reliability of network.
  • Updates frequently
  • End of life cycle and end of support cycle.
  • As D-Link frequently changes its products and customer have to switch very often.
In our head office where there is a low dust environment, it best suits this use. But in a plant where there is a dusty environment, you may face in and outs and the Network team may be in a bit of a hurdle.

We have been using D-link Ethernet Switches for a long time now and we have both flavors of them, managed and unmanageable with Power Over Ethernet and without Power Over Ethernet as well. They are mainly being used at the access layer of our organization and users and other end devices are directly connected to them, then they are uplinked to the distribution and core layer.
  • Easy to use GUI
  • Inexpensive
  • Available in a different number of ports.
  • Support for copper as well as fiber ports.
  • Available in gigabit ethernet and above speeds as well.
  • Hangs under heavy traffic load.
  • Spanning-tree is disabled by default, which can cause loops.
  • D-link loop detection feature is disabled by default as well.
  • NTP is not available in smaller models.
D-link Ethernet Switches can be used in a small to medium-sized business environment where the number of users and the number of devices on the network is low. It is not appropriate for a high user density environment and similarly, it is not appropriate for a data center environment where the traffic load is very high and low latency is required between endpoints.

D-Link Ethernet Switches are being used by our organization (in-plant and countrywide remote locations), before D-Link Ethernet Switches, we were using multiple devices and it was difficult to manage a large network, especially in a manufacturing plant.

Issues faced before replacement:
  • Switches are installed/malfunctioning again and again.
  • Multiple switches create unknown issues like users being connected but no data transferring.
  • We are unable to implement VLANs in our environment due to mixed switches.
We reviewed and then replaced all devices with D-Link Ethernet Switches in our organization for smooth and singular solution.
  • It's a secure, manageable, smooth solution for small- and large-scale organizations.
  • Port range of FA, 1G, and 10G in both fiber and copper.
  • Energy saving, very low power devices, amazing on UPS backup (at remote locations).
  • Excellent reliability--we used D link in open environment without an IP ratted rack and have no performance issues at all.
  • VLAN's management could be easier if POS for management were available.
  • Configuration in CMD mode like Cisco.
  • There are issues when configurations are complex. A little network monitoring tool (GUI based) must be used.
Well-suited:
It's easy to handle and install in small or large network without configurations.
It is also a well-managed switch for complex networks or environments with good performance.

Less Appropriate:
VLa's malfunctioning: multiple VLANs are slow and face issues in web applications. on other brands of switches, no issues were found.

We use Full D-Link Ethernet Switches. From Switches, Access Points and Cameras. We are a K12 Texas School. We use Dlink Switches on every campus and building. We have been totally happy with the performance of the Switches and Network capability. We do not see ourselves anytime in the furniture changing from Dlink solutions.
  • Pricing for sure. You get leading industry equipment but affordable prices.
  • Warranty. Even tho it is affordable Dlink does not skimp on your warranty.
  • Performance. Again even tho it is affordable you are getting a top performing network.
  • Web interfaces. Really need to work on easier web interfacing for less "program savvy" users.
  • Needs a WAY BETTER management solution. This is where you can take one piece of software and manage every switch.
  • Maybe and this is stretching, an easier way to keep up with firmware and uploading them.
D-Link Ethernet Switches, in my opinion, are extremely suited for education or business looking for a top grade network but are on a very tight budget. You get a great product with a great warranty for little of the cost. Customer support is great. Less appropriate would be an industry that just has an abundance of resource and don't care about saving money. Then go with Cisco. Just because of the brand name, not performance. Maybe another would be in your home. Don't need this if all you need is a Wifi Router.
