Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I have worked in several agencies/companies that assist customers moving into the various public cloud services as well as other vendor work where username, password, credentials, access keys and many more secure items have to be sent. Oddly enough, many companies do not have their mail servers, Exchange, for example, configured to support secure email. We as a company do but most of the customers don't, so we find it difficult to help them send such sensitive info internally and externally. We have started recommending them to use DataMotion. We absolutely love it. Extremely simple to implement, no negative effect on our current mail service either. Great to see a product that works and does exactly what it claims it can do. Our team has transitioned to DataMotion instead of using our O365 mail for sending secure messages.
Pros and Cons
  • Easy to understand once you receive email that there is a secure message.
  • Can wipe messages after they are sent and read.
  • Can be used for both internal and external email addresses.
  • When receiving email it says I can login via a new account or it gave me options to login with my gmail or facebook. But sometimes that option is not available and I don't know why.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is best suited for customers that do not have their email server setup for secure emails. Not suitable most of the times for customers that have O365 and have already configured secure email services.
Return on Investment

  • This did cost us more money when we could have just used our existing secure email service built into O365

This product provides a level of security we do not have by default in our mail system. We have tried two other products over the years and did we found data motion is more well rounded. Our goal for the next 12 mo this is to expand and merge with three other companies so we will be looking to use the same for the other entities

DataMotion SecureMail Ease-of-Use
It was paramount for us to be able to use single sign on as well as SafeTLS. Made the integration extremely simple as we did not have to give out unique passwords nor have the users create new accounts in DataMotion. We believe with our planned acquisitions this year we will be able to easily integrate those other IT assets and deploy Datamotion in those areas as well.
DataMotion Dedicated Instance
This was not a major factor as we expected to be setting up the DataMotion SecureMail on-premise. Since we have had about 90% of our systems migrated to the cloud 4 years ago, finding out that we could also run this in the cloud, right alongside our Azure AD, was a pleasant surprise.
DataMotion SecureMail APIs
We do not have any plans at this time to integrate with the APIs. I don’t u sweat and why you are forcing people to type so many longer answers to questions when there maybe little to nothing to say such as this question.

It is used to send secure and encrypted documents from one person to another, especially for documents containing sensitive information, from social security numbers to banking information, to private and personal information pertaining to each member of our organization. The program does a great job at maintaining privacy and security when using. We also have a large organization that requires a lot of dissemination and sharing of sensitive information, so it's important for us to use a platform that's capable of holding/hosting all of us.

It [DataMotion] is good for businesses and companies that require constant action of sending documents and sensitive material from one person to another. It is easy to integrate. It is a very, very simple application to use and can be used by almost anyone. Again, because of it's simple interface, it's been easy to add new people onto the platform and teach them how to use it. No difficulty at all. Does exactly what it describes it to do, and more.

The user interface is extremely simple and easy to use. Because of this, it's been extremely easy to integrate new users onto the platform, whenever we have new people join our organization. It's very easy to use, and leads to an efficient workflow when it comes to disseminating and sharing information and sensitive documents.

It's important that the information in these emails are encrypted and secured from outside viewers in order to preserve privacy.

It [DataMotion] is usable. There isn't really much to it. It gets the job done, and there really isn't much to improve with the application and website. Good for large organizations and businesses that constantly transmit sensitive information and documentation from one another. Maybe look into other applications if this service is too costly.

DataMotion is [a] great and effective way to communicate with colleagues and share sensitive information. Additionally, the ability to track and receive notifications of sent and received emails is extremely helpful when sending time-sensitive information. DataMotion is also useful in helping to organize groups of emails. Overall, this is a great tool to use in the workplace.

I could see DataMotion being used anywhere that needs to send confidential data or information within our outside of the workplace. This platform sends and receives emails securely. Also, the DataMotion support team response time is very helpful/appreciated and they will help you get things up and running quickly. I would definitely recommend [it].

DataMotion makes it easy for you to create an account and to then connect your DataMotion account with your work email so that you can receive notifications from DataMotion to your work email; which is very helpful. Also, it makes it seamless to go back and forth between your work email and DataMotion.
DataMotion SecureMail APIs
Unfortunately, I do not have any experience with this feature of DataMotion. But, I am more than positive that it would be effortless for users to use other applications, business systems, and portals through DataMotion. At the moment my department does not benefit from these APIs that DataMotion provides to customers.
