What is DataRobot?

The DataRobot AI Platform is presented as a solution that accelerates and democratizes data science by automating the end-to-end journey from data to value and allows users to deploy AI applications at scale. DataRobot provides a centrally governed platform that gives users AI to drive business outcomes, that is available on the user's cloud platform-of-choice, on-premise, or as a fully-managed service.

The solutions include tools providing data preparation enabling users to explore and shape data in preparation for machine learning, automate machine learning, deploy, monitor, manage, and govern all AI models (i.e. MLOps), and the ability to generate time series models that predict the future values of a data series based on its history and trend.

DataRobot AI Platform extends the user's data science expertise with automation and aims to give unlimited flexibility for both data science experts and non-technical users to succeed with AI.

DataRobot is a very useful tool to quickly look for interactions and relations between different features. It serves as a comfortable way to engineer features and rapidly interpret behaviors in between specific attributes.
  • Feature engineering
  • Performance and velocity estimation
  • Overall management of several models at once
  • Integration with external data sources could be easier
From a credit risk perspective, I think DataRobot is very useful to work on scenario assessments. For example, to identify the worst possible scenario in a default assessment.

  • Time saved to perform lengthy assessments for decision making
In general, it saves much time by providing a digital snapshot of your data. I believe refinement is still necessary, but it can save weeks of work.
Super fast and easy.
Our company had a dedicate scientist ready to answer any question, no matter the degree of complexity and the overall mathematical proficiency.
Not sure to be honest. We have a dedicated scientist, I guess that is premium. Anyway, the colleague was always very available and extremely knowledgable. Also, we met him in person, that helped build a personal connection.
No
Sure. Once I tried to find a relation between two features, neverthless I was obtaining the result I expected. I finally reached out to DataRobot to figure whether the system was not understanding my input or if there was a flaw in my line of reasoning. It turns out my reasoning was flawed.

A Good AI Tool

We use DataRobot as scoring to underwrite new policies. It is an additional help to know who will be a good insurer and who will not. You can use DataRobot to predict something that you need. Our business problem is that it is sometimes difficult to know who is going to have a claim and who doesn't.
  • Modeling
  • Easier than others
  • Well explained
  • Courses in Spanish
  • Cheaper
  • Not always intuitive
It is well-suited when you can finally be able to work "easily" when you know how it works. It is not suited when you start to use the tool you need to contract a consultancy, but you have to know how to use it. Also, they have courses you can use, but you have to dedicate the time to study and learn.

  • Multi-variant analysis - company information
It is easier to have all of the databases together in the same app. You have it all in the same place and later, you can make tests easier because it is all there. There is no maximum amount of space, so it is a good place to have a repository with the information needed.
It is difficult to start, but later, it is a good tool. You need to do 1 course every 3 days, and also have someone from DataRobot or an external consultancy explain to you and help you learn how to use the tool daily. DataRobot helps you a lot because they want your success.
I have only used DataRobot, so I cannot assess which tool is better in the market.
I have been using DataRobot since 2020, and they have 4 kinds of people that can help you, and they, for sure, help you. Support helps you with utilizing the tools offered. The key account manager can assist with creating contracts. The money-value data scientists help employees use the tool. Engineers are the deployment experts connecting DataRobot with your company.
I had purchased the normal support. I think all the companies have the same support. The good thing is that they have a 24/7 support center where you can ask anything that you need and they reply to you as quickly as they can. Also, if it is difficult to answer by email, you can make a call.
No
They have a 24/7 support center whom you can contact by email and you can even make a video call. They provide good data scientists with really good knowledge of the tool, who can help you, and who also speak your language. They are a trustworthy company leading the AI world. It is "easier" to learn than others like it. Overall, a good purchase.

We solve different kinds of business problems in the financial and retail industries. We are very satisfied with DataRobot´s capabilities: data prep of large volume of data, model creation and evaluation and deployment and monitoring . We solve use cases like collection, risk, audit, scoring, demand prediction, next best offer, price optimizing. We help analysts and data scientists from large banks and retailers.
  • Data prep: cleaning large data, creation of data flows and automation
  • Model configuration and selection
  • Deployment and monitoring models
  • Documenting and explaining the "why" of the models so understanding and explaining to business is made easy.
  • Data Scientist facing customers DSFC. They are very good but I think there should be more or include start-up services to clients more accessible.
  • Integration of the different tools. DataRobot had acquired several companies and integrating them should not be noted.
  • Automatic data mining
  • More algorithms and facilities for anomaly detection.
Best suited: You need to get models in production fast and many of them. We have an experience where data scientists in a company spend more than two months cleaning and trying to create models. We created models and put them into production in less than a week. Less suited: Marketing scenarios where you need segmentation done automatically but made visible and controllable to data scientists and marketers.
  • Easy of use
  • Community and documentation
  • Support
  • A lot of use cases

  • We build a collection model, severals in fact, that gave of ROI of 400%
  • We created a recommendation model that grow sales in 100% in the first 2 months of implementation
Alteryx is like a baby, you can play nicely with it but when you want to baby to get serious, it remains child.
With Datarobot you can get from problem to production very, very fast.

TCRM is complicated to use, it is not for final users to create model or participate creating models. Also it is exclusively for salesforce. Takes a los more time to prepare data and create models. However the results in dashboards are awesome.
Alteryx, Tableau CRM (formerly Einstein Analytics), Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, Snowflake
As I am writing this report I am participating with Datarobot Engineers in an complex environment and we have their whole support. We are in Mexico and is not common to have this commitment from companies without expensive contract services. Installing is on premise and the client does not want us to take control and they, the client, is also limited because of internal IT regulations ,,, soo we are just doing magic and everybody is committed.
No. The normal support satisfy our initial needs also because premium support is expensive right now. As we put more use cases into production we are planning to buy premium support. We still do not have real time predictions, when we sum up more use cases and more people becomes users of prediction results we will be contracting premium support.
No
Right now. We are installing on prem.
Data Scientist Facing Customer are exceptionally well trained and enjoy solving problems for the client. We did have several interactions and all are 100% worthy.
