I use D & B hoovers for gathering information about prospective companies and their decision-makers, I zero in on my prospective company and leads using LinkedIn navigator and then use D & B hoovers to get more information about the company in terms of their revenue, geography, number of employees and their decision-makers. D & B hoovers give information about the specific employees based on their function and designation. I send emails based on this information and pitch my services.

I use it for sales and lead opportunities. My sales teams are who primarily use the software. It creates great sales opportunities and offers information and tools to move our sales process forward. It provides new intel that other softwares don't as well as gives us another resource to use to contact potential customers.

We were looking to do several things in our Salesforce instance: Enhance customer data with firmographics (annual revenue, # of employees, industry, etc.) Validate data currently in the system Group customers by their corporate family Have a way to find new leads for the sales team We currently have the sales operations teams for the different business units using D&B Hoovers. They use it to validate the lead's information put in by the sales team. We also have a team uploading accounts to the D&B database to match and retrieve the firmographic information which then will be uploaded into Salesforce. It also helps with our hierarchy structure.

The information provided as apart of the company reports gives us what we need to prepare at the beginning of a new sales process. D&B Hoovers provides background on revenue, sales, employee information, industry insights, M&A activity, company hierarchy structure, and more. It is a vital tool for preparing for new prospect meetings - quick, easy, and insightful.

One consistent challenge I have has been working with the assigned representatives that have been assigned to my company's account. In my experience, they have not been reliable and I have to always make a huge effort to get information conveyed to me. The software itself is fine, but it's not intuitive to report information that needs to be updated. For example, sometimes websites that do not work are accounts pages. It is not clear where to report it, and once it was found, no one followed up about the issue being resolved.

D&B Hoovers has been a great prospecting tool for our sales department. We will use this to look up companies' financial pre-screening, annual sales volume, and other pertinent information used to compile a lead generation list. One of the convenient features is being able to compile a large list based on industry codes and physical location. This has really helped us narrow down our searches and compile a lead list of quality leads and oftentimes provides contact information to get the initial conversation started. I have been using this for six years now and have been thankful for the continual updates to the platform. The ease of this platform is second to none! User-friendly even for those who are not technologically savvy.

For a company like mine that constantly needs to be verifying business-related data, D&B Hoovers is an excellent tool and one we'd recommend. We evaluated many other tools for this purpose, and D&B Hoovers was the one best equipped to enable us to create very segmented lists using the dozens of filters they offer, including industry type, revenue, location, employee size, and even job title with/without verified email addresses. Given D&B's legacy as a top provider of business data, it's natural that Hoovers is the best tool for these specific reasons.

The biggest challenge D&B Hoovers helps me overcome is where our CRM is lacking in contact information. I can easily find names, positions, emails, and direct phone numbers. This has been integrated into our CRM so accessing additional information is quick and easy and I can even send the contact details directly to the CRM saving plenty of time.

Our B2B sales teams need leads, and my job is to fill the sales funnel through email marketing and direct mail. Challenges and opportunities addressed with the product:
Identifying contact details (with higher accuracy) of the prospects whom we want to target in our marketing campaigns. Finding out detailed financial and other firmographic and technographic information of a specific ICP company Primary users would be Market Analytics, SDR, and Marketing teams. The sales team uses it for finding company information and scoops.

D&B is one of our best tools to identify, enrich, enhance our account data, duns numbers and all the related fields. I use it daily and it is great to improve the quality of our data. Account hierarchy, Duns, Immediate parent duns, domestic ultimate DUNS and Global Ultimate DUNS numbers are very important fields to be populated.
