With Domo, regional directors, board of directors, brand leaders, and C-level executives have found a trusted reporting source that addresses the need for consolidated reporting on core KPIs and provides a quick tool for data extraction and analysis. This software has proven to be invaluable in centralizing data visibility and collaboration across departments, allowing users to connect and correlate data from different platforms for historical data analysis and visualization. Whether it is finance, HR, sales, engineering, product development, marketing, or client services departments, Domo is used to report key project indicators and metrics. The software's ability to combine internal and external data provides a holistic view of the organization's performance and leverages data resources effectively. Domo's features have automated reporting processes while reducing reliance on IT resources. It has also provided valuable insights into previously unexplored areas of the business. Difficulties in Dataset Management: Some users found it hard to get a visual idea of where their datasets were linked to and felt that it would be helpful to see the schema like in other software such as Sisense or Salesforce. We use Domo to visualise the information in our databases in a smart way; information pulled out from google analytics, traffic on our website, stats about our product, and personal/group trackers that we set up to record KPIs and/or progress reports, which we then sync to Domo to create cards.
  • Interactive platform.
  • Connectivity with other apps.
  • Collaborative work.
  • Easy to manage data visualisation.
  • Built-in formula/code editor (Beast Mode) to enhance chart creation.
  • At first, it is hard to get a hang of some of the more complex charts such as gauges. The guides are ok but hard to follow along and are just blocks and blocks of text. More interactive videos would be helpful to support the already existing material.
I believe that companies that record large amounts of data about their product, service employers KPIs, etc, can make the best out of Domo for reporting and data analysis, but if a company handles little data and is not recording this consistently, it will not be of much use.

  • It has helped improve our productivity by consolidating all information in one place and providing easy-to-use search features.
  • Being able to visualise our data has helped us understand our business better and most importantly device plans to improve customer service.
  • Since we have all the data of the business synced with Domo we are slowly moving towards a more data-driven business, looking to shift to predictive analytics to anticipate how the seasons and peaks affect website traffic and application flux.
  • We are able to visualise better where issues can be found and how to fix them.
  • We are able to understand the structure of our data better and find more optimal ways of presenting that on our website, thus enhancing customer experience and increasing web traffic and engagement.
Most features are very easy to use even for someone without previous experience with data analytics/visualisation software. Obviously there are a few features that require more expertise (such as using beast mode), but Domo has an amazing platform where one can acquire this knowledge.
Great! Domo has DOMO University where you can learn to use Domo and take as much advantage of it as possible. For some tips and tricks require to use Beast Mode and other chart properties it might be good to add some video tutorials, since it is hard to just follow along with explanatory text, but if you have a question, you are bound to find what you are looking for in Domo's support platform.

  • Predictive analysis of the data we currently have.
  • Getting stats on website traffic and engagement from our users.
  • Sending reports of recently added information to the database of our website.
  • Understand relationships between different areas of the business by relating different data sets.

We work in a very eclectic company with multiple functionalities and departments affecting the different products and services we offer, so we needed a product that could be used across all departments without much requirement of previous or specialised knowledge, and Domo has worked wonders for us. It has just the features we need and is very accessible to all the users in the company.
If I did this after having gained more experience with the more advanced features of Domo I might change my review on their support material. Other than that Domo is an amazing tool that I feel contributes greatly to my day-to-day tasks, so my review for them will always be 10/10!
  • Creating cards.
  • Connecting data sets.
  • The use of Buzz to collaborate on a similar data set project.
  • Beast Mode can be challenging, but only until you get the hack of it.

Domo - The Data Dynamo

We currently have Domo implemented across the entire organization. Our largest users are our regional directors, board of directors, brand leaders and C-level executives. The problems that Domo addressed was providing a consolidated location for reporting on core KPIs for the company. It also provided a quick tool for extracting data and fast analysis.
  • Domo handles the ETL process with smooth efficiency
  • Visualization of data
  • Clean UI
  • Content sharing; extracting data into automated emails
  • Integrated statistical analysis; Domo has hooks to R but it would be nice to have more of what R provides integrated into Domo
Domo is the perfect tool for data visualization. It has a large array of template functions, graphs, and charts to display any kind of data into a more visually pleasing manner. Domo also has several options for ETL. Domo has a UI interface for ETL but I am more partial to the MySQL option.

The software also stands out for its collaborative nature. It can integrate with different datasets, including social media, spreadsheets, and most enterprise business systems.

Domo is positioned as a self-service BI tool for varied user types, from the department staff to the tech engineer. As such, it is easy to use and is conveniently accessible via a single dashboard. It is also useful for users that demand real-time insights.

A business management platform has to be flexible to provide solutions for customers from any business environment, but that flexibility has to be delivered without requiring complex business process re-engineering and massive data conversion efforts. Domo’s web-based architecture and wealth of connectivity options allow rapid setup for any business. If your marketing company is wrestling with channel return on investment or your educational organization is drowning in data, Domo has the tools and capability to use your data and turn it into something useful for you.

Domo is currently being rolled out to our entire organization and is being used as a platform to standardize how we consume data and reports. We started with a targeted POC for a single department, but quickly attracted interest from departments all over the company, which helped drive the success of the platform. We now have a solution that enables data driven communication and collaboration across teams, giving our executive team a shared and trusted view of the organization.
  • Ease of use. As a tool it's comfortable, approachable and forgiving. If you have a tool that end users can dive into without fear, and create and think and collaborate, without training, without hand-holding, you quickly realize how rare and important that is. You'll need more licenses than you think because of how fast user adoption is.
  • Speed of implementation. You can go from 0-60 faster than a Tesla. We were up and running in weeks, with live working dashboards sourced from a mixture of external and internal data sets.
  • Sharing and Collaboration. In addition to getting internal departments to collaborate and share insights around their data, we quickly realized how easy it would be to provide analytics to our customers and partners. Everything is in place to setup external secure analytics portals to outside parties, and it's a game changer.
  • Data quality. Remember those days of building exception reports to call out data issues that no one wants to take ownership of? With Domo I ended up with crowd sourced data quality that grew organically from users finding issues, and building cards to highlight those issues. A simple alert to the manager/owner of that upstream process, or to the users names showing up in relation to the issue, have not only helped us shine a light on significant issues, but has resulted in users being aware of the downstream impacts and in some cases enables them to manage their own data quality. Makes for a great segue into those data governance initiatives when you have dashboards showing how dirty or clean your data is.
  • It would be helpful if we could filter (using the page analyzer) for the report side variables (beast mode calculations). But it's probably in the works.
  • Being able to use variables in card titles would be useful when we're building cards and dashboards that are dependent on row level security (PDP).
  • Debugging Beast Mode calculations would be super helpful, when you're trying to figure out what's wrong with your statement.
  • Report Scheduling was missing, but it's getting released to everyone in the next week or so.
The whole point of Business Intelligence, sometimes referred to as Data Analytics... is to make information available in a way that enables decision makers to make informed decisions. Domo makes consuming that information simple, whether you're at your desk or on a golf course, but the power isn't in being able to open up a metric and look at it, the power is in being able to challenge the data or ask a qualifying question or to have a conversation around the result, with the data, in the report. No extra emails. No extra meetings. The ability to set alerts partnered with the collaboration functionality brings tremendous efficiency and insight and makes it easier than ever to take the guessing game out of the decisions that are being made.
I looked at 20 different BI tools before I chose Domo (even over the tools I was most familiar with). I went with Domo because it was the right fit for the organization I'm at. Every company will have different priorities and needs, but for us I wanted the following:
- Cloud
- Mobile ready
- Light, easy, simple (user friendly)
- Collaboration (including direct line to support)
- Pre-built connectors into common applications, and templates "domo apps" for common dashboards

It was. Domo was easy to contact, they responded right away, and worked closely with us until the issue was resolved.
They’ve been a partner with us from day one. We aren’t a large customer, but you would never know it from the support we get. Each time we have a request they make sure it’s on their roadmap. Each time we have an issue, they work with us to resolve it. I haven’t encountered support like Domo’s Very often on the software industry.
