What is DonorPerfect?

DonorPerfect is a fundraising software solution, used by fundraisers to manage gifts, donor relationships, communications, receipting, and other initiatives from a single system.

DonorPerfect supports monthly giving success. Dashboard analytics and reporting provide insight into what drives donations, and organizations can send personalized email communications through Constant Contact to donors and supporters. Integrated online forms automatically enter gift information into the donor database, and it can accept and process recurring donations through digital wallets, including PayPal and Venmo.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use DonorPerfect to keep track of all the money that comes into the organization - individual and corporate donors, grant funds, etc. We also use it to send thank you letters, pull mailing lists, and other reports. It's so helpful to have up-to-date data on our donors, the money coming in, and know we can pull data to compare year to year amounts!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

DonorPefect has been the perfect solution for our nonprofit drug/alcohol rehabilitation facility. We have several significant contributors, along with a direct mail fundraising program. The application has allowed us to maintain comprehensive records for all of our donors, both large and small. It allows us to keep track of all the ways we connect with them and it records their entire giving history. It has allowed us to manage fundraising events such as our annual golf tournament In just two years, with this extra "horsepower" available to our development team, our donated income has more than doubled.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is used by the Development Department to track donations, donors and interactions with donors. It address raising money for an organization and methods to track the raising of money. We use it for both cash and in-kind donations as well as moves management with donors and prospects.

Pros

DonorPerfect is easy to use. I have trained volunteers and employees in under an hour on the basics of tracking name and address information. For a small organization, it is a good stable platform that will get any Development Department to speed quickly.
It also does a good job of letting an individual track movements with a prospect or donor. From meeting or phone call notes to next steps, it does a pretty good right within the system, so you don't need extra reports.
Their support team is really good about staying on top of issues and answering questions quickly whether it's through the Chat feature or telephone support. Their webinar trainings are another way for new users to get up to speed quickly.

Cons

Some of the ways they handle online donations could be improved. One section requires a tribute or memorial fields in the donation and not every donation is like that so I believe it confuses the donor. They have yet to find a remedy to that in my knowledge.
Some of their reports or structures within the reports cause some issues. For donations that are split between different programs, the donations do not appear in some reports which can be confusing
Would like to see their duplicate maintenance system improved. Sometimes it does not catch all the duplicates within the system if one runs the report on just name and address.

I think it has a positive return on investment, particularly in the on-line giving phase where DonorPerfect and its partners helped reduce transaction costs from what we had been paying.
Overall, I think it has helped our business objectives from a fund raising point of view.

Pros

It is very used friendly and can be implemented and used almost immediately
It includes Constant Contact FREE with the program
It provides training programs on everything
Their Customer Services is awesome

Cons

It could provide some of the standard reports fundraisers need as canned reports
It could provide optional salutations so you could mail to only one person - not both
It could enable us to set up monthly giving categories without using their donation program

Pros

Online forms for one-time donations, monthly donations and event management.
Running reports on specific fundraising needs including monthly reports to finance and generating automated reports to send to the fundraising team is important to do.

Cons

We are able to request new and improved ways to speed up what we do, however it is slow getting these changes and a number of individuals need to also want them.
