Additionally, the software has helped users achieve error-free designs while saving valuable time and money. By solving drive problems and reducing repetitive work through its automation functions, DriveWorks has proven to be an invaluable tool for organizations investing in research and development efforts to understand and maintain their business. Users have also appreciated the ease of programming and automation capabilities of DriveWorks for SolidWorks designs, making it a valuable asset in their workflows. The software allows users to eliminate tedious tasks, configure products on their websites, automate document creation, showcase their portfolio to customers, generate purchase orders automatically based on customer specifications, and handle parts and assemblies with multiple configurations efficiently. DriveWorks supports various other output document formats, making it versatile for different applications. Users have seen a significant return on investment with DriveWorks, with decreased engineering time spent on drawing creation and payback periods under a year. This software has been praised for its ability to integrate well with other systems such as Microsoft Access databases, enabling users to solve specific client requirements while generating drawings and emails automatically. Furthermore, DriveWorks has successfully resolved issues related to design engineering, served as a central system for managing workflow and tracking data integration with ERP systems, handled different unit systems and materials for global manufacturing sites, controlled drawings and tables for better organization and management, automated machine design processes such as 3D layouts and pick-and-place operations, simplified editing and variable handling for family products, aided teaching and learning by allowing students to configure new custom products easily, automated 3D assembly to reduce errors and improve worker focus on tasks requiring human work, and integrated seamlessly with SolidWorks CAD for added value over time. Overall, DriveWorks has proven to be a valuable tool that enhances efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in various industries.

Powerful Automation System: Users have consistently praised DriveWorks for being a powerful automation system that enables non-CAD trained staff to produce quotes and provide customers with basic drawings. Numerous reviewers have highlighted the tool's ability to simplify processes, increase efficiency, and reduce manual design tasks. Integration with Solidworks: The integration of DriveWorks into Solidworks has received high praise from users. Many reviewers appreciate the seamless integration and complete control over parameters it provides. This feature allows for easy collaboration between different software systems and streamlines the design process. Document Creation and Real-time Preview: The platform's document creation and real-time preview features are highly valued by users. Several reviewers have mentioned how useful it is to create multiple forms, utilize dynamic inputs, and get instant previews of their designs. These capabilities contribute to a smoother user experience and help users identify any design faults early on.

Cons:

  1. Lack of External Support for Development: Some users have struggled to find external support for development, resulting in a long learning curve. They have expressed difficulty in finding comprehensive tutorials and resources to understand the software's capacity and troubleshoot.
  2. Execution Errors: Occasionally, the system does not execute all the rules correctly, leading to errors and inconsistencies. Users have mentioned encountering bugs that result in errors and occasional issues with inflatables for drawings.
  3. Clunky User Interface: Users have found the system's user interface to be clunky and suggested that animations could improve the user experience. They recommend making the software more user-friendly with improved searchability and UI options based on individual requirements.

Users highly recommend considering the excellent customer service provided by Driveworks. They have found Driveworks to be effective and reliable for custom design. Users suggest addressing any bugs that may result in errors and investing time to thoroughly understand and utilize Driveworks for running their business. Additionally, users recommend documenting the cost of the current system before implementing Driveworks to evaluate the return on investment. They also advise auditing one's own process before automating with Driveworks and researching its suitability for the specific product, taking into account any additional license costs.

DriveWorkds allows the company to automate 3D assembly with ease and reduces the risk for errors. It is a huge helping hand that lets other workers focus on tasks at hand that do require human work. The program is easily integrated into other systems with no problem such as SolidWorks CAD. Also, in recent times it has expanded more throughout time which just adds value.
  • Integration with other systems.
  • Ease of use.
  • Automation potential.
  • Program UI.
  • Sometimes integration with other systems can be troublesome.
  • A high skilled user is needed.
  • Steep learning curve.
  • No support for Mac.
DriveWorks is well suited for companies that could benefit from task automation. Anything that is repetitive is especially well suited, this can free a set of hands that can take on other tasks. Some situations where DriveWorks could not be beneficial are for small companies that have no need for automation if the workload does not require it.
  • Task automation.
  • Frees a set of hands for other tasks.
  • Eliminates repetitive work.
  • Assists with flow of work.
  • Reduces man-hours on repetitive work.
  • Allows to have people working on other tasks.
DriveWorks is similar to some of its competitors but there are areas where it excels in comparison. For example, DriveWorks has an easier integration with other systems in terms of automation. However, some of its competitors have an easier learning curve than opposed to DriveWorks. If a skilled user has knowledge of DriveWorks then it will not be an issue.

DriveWorks helps us in our Advanced Business Design classes in the university where I work. DriveWorks allows students' interactive activities under the teaching team's help. DriveWorks helps our students configure easily and fastly new and innovative customs products. In particular, we use the free version of the software (una tantum payment). This software is also very useful in the mobile and tablet versions. Our students can interact even outside of class hours, thanks to this fundamental feature.
  • DriveWorks allows configuring custom products in a concise time thanks to its automation features.
  • The mobile and tablet versions allow us to increase our students' interaction.
  • The graphical interface is straightforward to understand. This allows you to speed up the steps in the different phases of use of the software.
  • In some cases, the exchange of documentation between different users is not so automatic. Some operations still have to be done manually.
  • All the variables and design parameters introduced by the user are not always visible and can be analyzed simultaneously. Sometimes changing the parameters related to the characteristics of the products is not so easy.
  • DriveWorks allows access to a limited number of users at the same time. This issue sometimes makes the use of the software difficult for many of our students.
I would recommend DriveWorks to a college if they have similar needs to those I am personally experiencing at my university. Above all, I would not recommend it if the user needs to allow simultaneous access to a very high number of users (as is my case) since the software does not give this possibility. On the contrary, I would recommend it if a colleague needs to use software that works in the background and generates stand-alone models and prints for time reasons.
  • DriveWorks helped us simulate configuring custom products in our Advanced Business classes, even if it is not educational software.
  • DriveWorks has a friendly interface for mobile devices and tablets.
  • This software allows a direct and easy-to-use platform to configure custom products for the end-user.
  • DriveWorks helped us to increase the efficiency of our work thanks to the possibility to work remotely.
  • The easy-to-understand graphical interface has allowed us to increase the interaction between our students.
  • The impossibility of having many active users during the same session forced us to work at different times with multiple workgroups.
DriveWorks is the first software to configure custom products that I use. So I cannot make comparisons with other software right now. However, the difficulties encountered in allowing a large number of users to log in simultaneously will prompt me to look for another similar software. However, the features that enable the user to calculate the prices and costs of a product quickly, design the product in 2D and 3D, and manage e-commerce modes are factors that would push me to keep using DriveWorks.
