We use it across the organization. It is a good backup with history support and helps me easily share content with different team members in my organization and/or clients.
  • It has top-notch security, which is highly appreciated by my clients.
  • The history feature saved us numerous amounts of time from re-doing work.
  • Ability to track who made changes to a document, and comment on it helped us with keeping content organized and avoiding conflicts.
  • Recently we started integrating Dropbox into other product management and communication tools such as Slack and Monday. Works really good.
  • Once we had a major problem where one of the employee accidentally deleted lots of data and had to restore. It appears that this mechanism work much less effective than restoring a group of files. Eventually it took Dropbox about 2 months with resolving the issue, and us additional 2 weeks of cleanup afterwards.
  • Dropbox is getting very expensive and there are today some alternatives that have better price to value ratio.
It is very good for small organizations or very large organizations. Everything in between may have problems with the sheer cost of maintaining the users' costs. Also, it is not recommended if your company has a huge amount of data as currently, Dropbox lowered the amount of storage they're offering for small businesses.

  • When we had to restore a large portion of our database, it took Dropbox about 2 month to handle the problem, and eventually we got a very huge mess. Some of the files were never restored, and we lost money and reputation. Dropbox, on their part, did not do but the bare minimum to help us with this, nor they took responsibility for their inability to supply us with the backup and restore features they were committed to.
Google Drive UI is VERY messy. It is not convenient to use, and its integration to the desktop is arbitrary...
OneDrive sync functions tend to break and lots of time we found ourselves wondering why a work we just saved disappeared, only to find out that it was overridden by the server version, and that our newer version is available as a revision of the server...
Copy was actually pretty decent and cost effective, but the product was cancelled.

Because of the very high price of Dropbox, we only allowed a third of our employees to use it. These are the people who handle content and/or graphics within our company. Also the CEO and COO are using Dropbox, with the COO handling all the files and making sure the content is backed up on external drive weekly.

Actually, no skill is needed, since the Desktop software is very intuitive. We never had a problem with a user not knowing what to do with Dropbox. To use the more advanced feature, a basic need in SAAS will help, as users will need to go to the Dropbox admin site and look for their deleted file. On the other hand, Dropbox did a very good job with adding a small widget to MS Office, enabling the user to reach most of the needed function straight from the widget.

Dropbox is very expensive and its price is not as competitive as it was. We are looking for an alternative that will enable as to subscribe more users at a more affordable cost.

Also, we did not like Dropbox customer service, and felt that they should have found a way to compensate us for some of the damage they were responsible for when restoring our data.

Dropbox usability is top notch - Very easy to work with the Desktop app, and the admin site is very straight forward. Rarely we've had users with problems with the product. The only one problem we ever found, is that you can't share a sub-folder with a team member, if the folder itself is already shared with someone.

For the period we've been using Dropbox, we still think it is the most convenient product there is right now. I am very upset that the price per user is so high in Dropbox, thus forcing us to look for alternative, because otherwise, we would probably have stuck with this product for a very long time.

It works pretty well and I can easily find my Barings there.
The only issue I've found is that while uploading content to Dropbox on iPhone, the Dropbox app must be in focus and the phone screen should be always on (Which is annoying because it drains the battery and the phone is unusable at that time)
We've used this when we were 2 users and when we were 20. It did not make any difference.
Even when we've had to scale down and fire 10 employees, it was still easy to salvage all the material and keep it organized within Dropbox.
We once had a problem where an employee accidentally deleted a major folder (Before we knew how to manage permissions properly) and we had to restore ~1,500 files and fast. We've contacted Dropbox and their support were with us all the way, through various talks, phone calls, emails, and a long communication to understand what and how to restore.
We manage to salvage 90% of the data. Sadly it was messy (because files and folders which were deleted prior to the incident have been restored as well) but it was better than facing our clients and telling them that we will not be able to deliver our work because of a data loss.
Since we mostly use Dropbos's File Explorer interface, it works seamlessly most of the time.
When working online, the preview sometimes displays low quality.

Basically, I use Dropbox to save work-related files privately on the cloud. I think it's one of the safest options. Other colleagues in the company also use Dropbox (a few also use Box, me too 100% for work) to save files in the cloud.
As most of the work happens online a tool like Dropbox helps in working in a collaborated manner. It enables me to give and receive feedback on files etc.

  • Seamless way of writing comments and posting reviews
  • It also has good amount of storage for a middle size company
  • Great way to do do file recovery and to check version history
  • It gives a great overview of the activity per staff member on a timeline
  • Dropbox can apparently increase the limit on the users who can potentially use the platform
  • The fact that online editing needs a Microsoft account is often cumbersome
  • A small point but the free trial needs payment information
If you are a medium or large size team, dropbox for Business would help you in collaborating within the teams and will also provide different features in order to make the work seamless (for instance features like user management, version history, unlimited deletion and a suite collaboration tools. One thing I really like is If you operate a non-profit organization or own a very large enterprise, Dropbox offers a discounted rate which is always great.

  • As we work in consulting, everything is based on presentations, and Excel and Word documents. We work in a large team so being able to save on the cloud, work on documents simultaneously, and provide feedback/comments in real-time helps a lot.
  • Also the fact that files are secured in a well encrypted manner provides a relief.
  • Also decent pricing enables affordability and makes sure the whole team is working on the cloud rather than saving files locally.
The best thing about Dropbox is the fact that it can be integrated with over 100,000 third party apps which makes it easier to integrate the softwares which we internally work with. Dropbox integrated with DocuSign, Vimeo, Adobe, Salesforce and project management tools such as Trello, Asana (the one we use internally), smartsheet etc.

Basically they all work in consulting as well as the office administration department. As we are into consulting, we regularly save files on the cloud and we have to rely on software like Dropbox and Box so that our files are secured. Dropbox is surely an integral part of our company.
Basically, someone who would support Dropbox for business should have a strong cloud background and should understand how the program works. Including troubleshooting common issues like version changes, no syncying etc. Also it comes down to security as highly confidential data is involved so secrecy and a high level of skill is needed to manage the software on a larger level.

Single most important factor for choosing Dropbox for business was the integration of Dropbox with other important tools which makes working internally very easy. We also used Box before but after we used Dropbox it easily connected to the CRM system, project and workflow management tools, time management tools etc. Its ease of use was another important factor before considering the tool.
I would really start from the basics and check what the goals of my organization is. Also the team size, budget and integrations with other tools would play an important role in setting up out mind on which tools to consider. I would then make a list of the tools with a list of all the features and integration and then evaluate based on the above mentioned factors to choose the best one.

Dropbox is used to store files across our organization. Most employees use Dropbox to store all work-related files and share files across team members and different groups. We utilize Dropbox rather than paying and maintaining servers to store all of our corporate data either on-site or at a data center. It allows for easy file sharing and backing up data.

Dropbox is a great cloud based file storage and sharing system. It allows to easy creation of folders and sharing of folders between teams. Since it is cloud based, files can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. This is ideal for a remote workforce and people on the go. It is less appropriate for files that are regularly worked on concurrently by multiple people. It lacks default ability to lock a file (as a traditional corporate network would) when somebody opens it.

Software is very user friendly - it is just like navigating Windows Explorer to access files. The system takes little to no training to get new uses up to speed.
The website is well organized when outside of the office or using a different computer.
The only limit to scaling Dropbox is pricing. After a certain point, using traditional data storage would be more cost effective than per user pricing.
At least once a week the app crashes on my computer and causes files to stop syncing. It is an easy fix to re-open the app, however I have to notice the app stopped working to realize it needs to be reopened.
Syncing to the cloud is almost instantaneous. Users on the same network can see my changes within seconds on their computer.

I use Dropbox for Business in the communications department at my non-profit. It's been an invaluable tool in sharing design work between machines and users. I've used Dropbox for years and keep coming back to it because of its simplicity. The business functionality allows me to take it further into the creative work we do. I'm the only person on staff for communications work so things get overwhelming quickly, Dropbox for Business has helped me have some organization to the craziness. It allows me to bring in volunteers to help with work as well and share with other key staff members easily.
  • It allows me to easily share files with people inside and outside the organization. This really helps for large files as well.
  • It allows me to keep all of my computers in sync.
  • I love being able to communicate and share across the platform.
  • I wish I could do more project management with it, so it could be an end-to-end solution.
  • I HATE that you can't easily split up files to multiple hard drives, you have to do workarounds for that.
  • It can be hard to stomach the fees.
I think it works for most applications where you're sharing files. Google Drive is better for documents, slides, and spreadsheets. While dropbox has added Office 360 functionality to the product, nothing beats the ease and simplicity of Google Drive for documents. For any other files though, especially in the design world, it's awesome!

As said before, Dropbox is way better and easier to use for all types of files, it's just weaker than Google Drive for documents. I've never liked Google Drive for files, I think it gets muddled with all of its document functionality, so again, dropbox for files, Google Drive for documents.

It's used by myself and other people in communications and production. So we use it for all sorts of design work, including graphic design, video production, audio production, and print production.

It's really easy to use, so it's not too hard to teach it to people. There's not a whole lot of learning curve to Dropbox for business. I'd say the hardest hting is to just get across cloud storage with people and that Dropbox has both a desktop app that syncs stuff on your computer with the cloud.
