What is Dropbox DocSend?

DocSend is a secure file and document sharing solution that gives users analytics and control on sent documents to see who opens documents, who they forward them to, and how long they look at each page. Users can turn off access, password protect, or set an expiration at any time. DocSend integrates with SalesForce as well as Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive. Use cases include investor relations, board management, and similar transactions where secure sharing is required. Additionally, DocSend Spaces, a relatively new feature, is presented as a virtual data room solution.

DocSend was acquired by Dropbox in March 2021. It is now a Dropbox brand.

Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

I have used Google Drive and Confluence. Although there are very basic features of tracking the user stats and views, DocSend provides comprehensive user tracking stats. None of the others that are used provides any in-depth analysis and insights like where the users have focused on etc.

Everyone uses multiple services from many companies. It's key if a breach happens or a hack or downtime. So there is nothing to do about some Force Majeure Selecting Dropbox for files is like selecting Paypal for online payments, it has marketed its space but the fees are high.

DocSend is more convenient than DocuSign if you are already using Dropbox, otherwise a lot of these solutions come down to pricing and preference on user interface. For us, DocSend was great until our needs changed to needing a more sophisticated contract management tool. With further integrations and API accesses in the future, I think it will be easier to have all systems communicating and working together .

In terms of organization for cloud services, competitors are very well placed in the market. But the ease of docsend is far superior. For users who are not used to these platforms, it is certainly the best tool we have on the market. When it comes to editing and sharing files in easy access

I have tried Notion and Google Docs earlier. Even though Notion helps me know who has viewed the doc, and their last visit - it still doesn't tell me how many times has a doc been visited, which areas did they focus on. Google Drive only lets me know the change history of the doc but not any sort of view history. DocSend excels in all of these scenarios.

I manage a lot of information from different customers, in many cases, the customer wants to keep the information safe and confidential, the interface in many cases is easy to use, so take some time to adapt to that and, in addition, the share feature provides more flexibility for the users to share and [track] the information

We have chosen DocSend because it has some features that others doesn't have, such as security features monitoring files you have uploaded in it. In addition, you can securely disable the online PDF if you want people to input a password or require an email address before someone could view the file.

Our organization previously used ClearSlide but switched to DocSend as a cost savings. It was not made clear during the sales process that DocSend does not natively possess audio conferencing or screen-share capabilities. We had to add on the join.me integration after the fact, which has not worked well.

When our contract is up with DocSend we will be moving back to ClearSlide.

DocSend is more robust than Dropbox Showcase for building data rooms but doesn't look nearly as nice from a marketing/sales standpoint. When comparing either to iDeals they are lightweight solutions while iDeals is built for M&A activities. I personally want something in between but have yet to find it. I haven't found a better service for sharing slides privately than DocSend (SlideShare, etc.).
