Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use ECI FMAudit for device monitoring, supplies replenishment, and meter collections. This is used by several people at our company for many different reasons. First, we use it for exporting data of meter collection into our ERP. We also use it for shipping and receiving to determine if we have, in any instances, shipped excessive toner.

  • Product data platform needs to be updated
  • Interface could use a nip and a tuck
  • Overall architecture appears to be lacking as we find many devices go stale
Likelihood to Recommend
ECI FMAudit has tremendous potential and works quite well. It could use some work, but overall the price we pay per device is sufficient. It can be used as a backup to another tool as if you run 2, this does not seem to conflict with other tools. Sometimes we install 2 DCA's to ensure we don't get any stale data. On large accounts this is crucial. This is easy to install and you can run a scan the minute you install it and then check the dashboard to see if devices propagate.

  • Tremendous ROI for billing
  • Alerts are accurate
  • The interface is fairly easy to navigate and figure things out.
  • It could use improvement for some Xerox devices, as it lists some models as " . " instead of the model name.
  • This has saved us tens of thousands per year instead of sending techs to collect meters.
  • The latest version of this product allows you to access the interface of the device, from the cloud dashboard instead of having to remote on to a user's workstation and then get to the device. This is cutting-edge technology without a doubt.
Alternatives Considered
We have used Print Fleet in the past as well as KFS. ECI FMAudit was the most well-known and seemed to work far better in terms of not dropping off networks than other brands. It is the most stable product we have used.

ECI FMAudit demystifies the print environment at your location(s). It is a single pane of glass for printer and copier clicks, access to printer webpages, firmware versions, and more. Above all it allows your managed print provider visibility of those page counts so that they stop requesting these numbers from you over the phone, by email, or by fax. Free up your staff's time!

Combined with other third-party bolt-on applications it will even help you dive deeper yet, including the placement of print devices plus return info on toner utilization.

  • Keep improving the interface. It went through a nice overhaul a couple of years back. Stay on the cutting edge with that.
Likelihood to Recommend
ECI FMAudit is well suited for all environments, whether you have 2 print assets or 2000. I've deployed the application hundreds of times and it's a very smooth process. Follow the guidelines for required machine specs and there are no issues. ECI FMAudit is HIPAA compliant and a great idea for hospitals. Your staff should focus on the lives in their hands (or in IT's case, the servers helping to empower those supporting those lives) and not on printer page counts.
Return on Investment
  • In every case I've seen, it's free for the client companies of managed print providers.
  • Setup time is minimal.
  • Reports are optional - once it's set up you no longer have to pay attention to it unless you want to invest more time.

Nothing stands up to ECI FMAudit's abilities.
