We use ELMO to design, create and implement MSP or training modules for use all over the business. These modules cover all aspects of the business from WHS, EHS, Guidelines, Legal Responsibilities, company requirements.

The onboarding process at EPSA used the ELMO software, which allowed me to upload ALL of my personal details and documentation very easily.
No random paper forms to fill out your bank account details, then one for superannuation/pension details, then another for your Emergency Contact details, etc. None of that typical nonsense.

Everything that my employer could possibly ask from me, was ALL able to be entered/uploaded via the ELMO platform. It was the best onboarding experience I've had in my career.

  • The only issue was that if you logged-out/timed-out, the return login page/link that you were sent to, looked exactly the same, however, you couldn't log in to that page with your original credentials. I had to make sure that I manually added "/onboarding" to the link, in order to arrive at the login page that accepted my original credentials. THEN, I could finish off uploading and entering my details.
It was great for onboarding. That is the limit of my experience with ELMO.

ELMO Software can help us to keep in touch with the administrative branch of the company. It helps us to comply with legal requisites and share documents such as our daily COVID test that needs to be done and reviewed online. We also use it because sometimes we are working from home and it allows us to be connected.

We use Compass as our main and group-wide tool for HR development and performance measurement - goal settings, regular career conversations, milestones follow-up, yearly evaluation. It is used all across the organization - both regionally in LatAm, my personal geographical scope, and globally.
  • Cycle management.
  • Goal setting.
  • Regular reviews.
  • Help seems unavailable.
  • A guide or how-to would be extremely appreciated - I haven't found any, at least for user level.
  • User interface could follow a more standard/familiar approach.
  • Some panes should be collapsible (e.g. the right "Work Flow" area, which gives very little help).
Compass is an outstanding tool to help a manager organize the team's objectives, accomplishment measurement, training needs and evolution. The concept of self-evaluation and later revision by the manager is appealing. The whole approach is easy to learn and follow even for an untrained employee, and has been a great improvement over the previous spreadsheet-based evaluation system. It is yet to be seen how the performance links with remuneration.

Maybe creating 2 separate training modules for the basic tradesman employed by Stowe and one more in-depth for the responsibilities to be taken more seriously by the management team, who often are just experienced workers (only because of the time they spent working for Stowe other than for having undertaken more comprehensive educations and courses on Health and Safety)

Ideal for learning and development purposes. Sometimes glitches are in progress but it has apparently been due to the trainer's error, not the system necessarily. Not great for performance review. Locked into questions that may not have any relevance to a particular job.
I am not sure whether you are asking how the learning & development team rates ELMO Software or how ELMO supports our team when issues arise with the software? It is not my decision to purchase the software nor am I involved with the maintenance of the software.

As an employee, I find it a very good 'one-stop-shop' for any employment matters. It helps me keep track of my professional development. I just finished my performance appraisal using the software and I found it very user-friendly. Using the 'leave' functions I found it a bit clunky and not so user-friendly.

Good to have all the HR stuff related to my job in one place. Great to have the record of PD all in one place. The leave processes were not that user-friendly and for whatever reasons we no longer use these forms via ELMO Software.
I am unsure and I do not use it at this level.

ELMO Software is used for rolling out mandatory courses for all employees. It is also used for sending across the company policies that all employees need to know and follow. There are a few informative videos that assist employees with onboarding as well. It is quite a useful tool for information sharing.

  • Easy to access and navigate through
  • It would be better if some modules could be maximized to the full screen
  • Sometimes the slides get stuck and don't proceed to the next screen
ELMO is a really good tool for enabling users to get a grip on company policies and training modules. I highly recommend it to any organization.

ELMO is our chief HR portal for employees. Individuals use it to access their employment status details, receive correspondence on contracts from HR, take continuing education courses, review college staffing structures, locate team members, and so on. In my role, I also use it to initiate the recruitment of new staff members and apply for external CPD.

  • Some courses accidentally applied for can't be deleted
The performance review process is clear and easy to complete, for both employee and manager. I have experienced this in both roles, with my own staff, and undergoing my own review with my manager. I haven't experienced scenarios where it is less appropriate, I think our HR department customised the software well to our needs.
I have not needed to call on ELMO Software support per se. Any assistance I have needed has been provided by my HR department, who may well have called upon the support offered by ELMO in their roles.

We needed a new learning management reporting system as our old program was no longer going to be supported. ELMO has the flexibility to add any learning to staff members profiles however we are still working with ELMO to get an accurate report which show learning hours in a printable format for staff to use to use as evidence to certifiers.

ELMO is easy to use if you are a company with lots of office workers. If you have staff that do not have frequent access to a computer then it is less appealing for staff to access regularly.

ELMO is good for recording learning but needs a more comprehensive or flexible reporting system that does not require downloading a cvs file for adjustment/formatting.

ELMO has ease of setup for Onboarding/New Starters and performance reviews.

Prior to implementing ELMO, we were facing difficulties such as:<br><ul><li>Inconsistent recruitment and onboarding processes compromised the candidate experience;</li><li>People processes were inefficient;</li><li>Managing HR compliance was onerous; and</li><li>A lack of centralised employee data made visibility of people-related obligations difficult.</li></ul>Since implementing, we have been able to:<br><ul><li>Standardise our recruitment process and hire in an average of 20 days;</li><li>Implement organisational workflows to decrease admin time and increase efficiency;</li><li>Make people-related decisions quickly by using data that is instantly (and easily!) available. </li></ul>

  • Easily and effortlessly administers our learning management system.
  • Implementation consultants and support team are always available to assist in getting the most out of the system.
  • The process for integrating the system with external payroll systems is very involved and takes some time.
Our industry is heavily regulated and as such we have hundreds of policies, procedures and other documentation that needs to be part of our Learning Management System. ELMO allows us to set these up in 'assignment rules' so that an employee is allocated the correct training on commencement, without the administrative burden that other systems had.
Support has been second to none. All implementation consultants and technical support consultants are friendly and spend the time to gather information and provide assistance.

The implementation was successful: yet there are some technical elements (e.g. some data display, visibility) that ELMO developers are working on at the moment.

  • Certain technical features (e.g. saving details, uploading attachments).
ELMO is a very suitable HRIS for mid-size organisations: it is affordable (from a budget perspective) and has a wide range of most relevant modules (e.g. Payroll, Learning and Development, Performance Management, HR Core, etc.). The support desk team is just amazing: very responsive and resourceful; a great asset to the company.
As mentioned earlier: very responsive and resourceful efficient Help Desk and Support Team.
