Collaborative and Intuitive: Users have found Enovia to be a collaborative and intuitive product, with several reviewers praising its key features such as BOM management and external tool integration with CATIA and Solidworks. The well-organized interface allows even beginners to easily navigate the platform with training, making it user-friendly for those new to Enovia.

Transformation of Processes: Many users appreciate Enovia's ability to transform processes into a digital line with minimal effort. This feature has been highly regarded by reviewers, who consider it accessible and useful for companies in any industry. Enovia is recognized as a valuable tool for product lifecycle management.

Cloud and On-Premise Environment: The cloud and on-premise environment offered by Enovia is highly useful, enabling users to access the platform from any device. Several reviewers have highlighted this capability as an advantage, allowing them flexibility in their work environment while still maintaining seamless access to the platform.

  1. Lack of adaptability: Some users find Enovia to be a forced solution that is not adaptable to their specific needs, which can hinder their ability to effectively use the software.

  2. Technical difficulties with browser and Java integration: The browser and Java integration in Enovia is plagued with bugs, causing technical difficulties for users. This can result in frustration and delays in completing tasks.

  3. Expensive licensing cost: The cost per license for Enovia is prohibitively expensive for end users who only need to view information. This pricing structure can limit access to the software and make it less accessible for smaller businesses or individuals on a budget.

Users have made several recommendations for Enovia based on their experiences with the tool. First, they recommend being patient and investing time in learning how to fully utilize Enovia. This includes taking intense and up-to-date trainings to efficiently use the tool and working with a business partner to better understand business challenges and how Enovia can help.

Second, users suggest meeting with the Enovia team for consultation before implementation to ensure a smooth process. They also recommend resolving issues such as crashing and improper display of the screen, as these can hinder the user experience.

Lastly, users advise focusing on improving current processes and implementing them in Enovia, rather than trying to recreate existing systems. They also recommend getting customizations working well before implementing them on a large program.

These recommendations highlight the need for training and patience when using Enovia, as well as the importance of addressing technical issues and aligning the tool with existing business processes.

Enovia V6 is being used by all our Engineering groups across the whole organization. It is primarily being used for processing Engineering change management and when the design is complete and ready for production it pushes to various ERP systems for manufacturing and downstream processing. Engineers are using this PLM system day-in and day out for managing parts, design documents (CAD documents) and other supporting documents and controlling their lifecycle ..starting from creation, moving to major/Minor revision, on to obsoletion. Works seamlessly with integrating with other ERP system. This is very flexible compared to other PLM systems which have both advantages and disadvantages. Comparatively easy to implement and saving time.

  • Every revision of a part or document is a separate object, hence unlike SAP status control of an object is easy. The lifecycle of each object can be controlled by its own policy.
  • It is easy to create new types of objects rather than pre-defined object types and control them by their own customized policy.
  • Efficient Security and access control model for design and supporting documents file checkout and check-in and easy reporting mechanisms for tracking business activity, like how many parts being created/revised/obsoleted and who has checked out how many times etc.
  • Generation of custom reports
  • When a part/assembly has been released in Enovia and gone for production or downstream processing, Enovia doesn't have much control, hence, Enovia should come up with an easy controlling mechanism for various disposition of parts and seamless communication with an ERP or downstream process.
  • If a document is linked to thousands of materials then revising this document takes long time gets floated to the BOMs where the previous document versions are used. So, Enovia should have an efficient way to replace the floating process or another efficient mechanism for document revision processing.

Very well suited for direct integration with CAD packages (Solidworks/ Auto desk Inventor or AutoCAD) and version control of CAD Model/Assemblies and Drawing files) and creating parts and document objects directly into Enovia and controlling their lifecycle from CAD Interface.

Similarly, Enovia's Engineering central is already equipped with Industry standard ECR/ECO process which needs little customization for implementing Engineering Change management process.

The hardest part in Enovia is controlling the disposition of released material for the downstream process in other ERP systems. For example, if a released material has gone for production or purchasing in ERP system/MRP system then dispositioning that material with Major revision (which may need manufacturing to stop the production due to faulty design) have no direct control to stop the downstream activities. Most cases its manual process to communicate with ERP team to for taking action. Similarly, revision of Documents (material Spec for example) linked to thousands of parts required special process (some time needs to schedule in the weekend).

  • Easy learning curve for the users- Very user-friendly Interface for Engineering central make the users happy and easy to learn the BOM creation and Engineering change management process.
  • Time-saving - Seamless Creation and revision process of objects saves a huge amount of time compared to other systems.
  • Easy to copy existing business data and modify them as required.

When evaluating Enovia as a PLM product the following Enovia stacks came out as a positive feature compared to other PLMs available on the market.

1. User-friendly interface

2. Easy to Integrate with CAD systems for the manufacturing Industry

3. It is quite easy to implement the Interface with ERP/MRP system (like SAP, Oracle manufacturing)

4. Availability of 3rd party ENOVIA -SAP interface and easy to plug in between two systems
