  • Epicor has allowed us to easily develop new products and release them to our customer quickly.
  • Because the data in Epicor is open to 3rd party apps It's allowed us to improve process even farther.
  • My favorite tool is DMT. It has saved us some much time because we can modify data so quickly and efficiently. Also when we acquired new companies it allowed is to import the data in hours.
  • Because of the flexibility of the grid format on forms IT doesn't have to create one off reports. Also, Users can to small batch imports releaving IT workload.

  • Information efficiency is vastly improved - especially in purchasing. We went from excel tracking to job linked PO's. Now we have a dashboard the shows all parts availability that the entire organization can see
  • helping to drive process discipline - forces better behaviours and reduces the use of workarounds
  • Sales pipeline visibility and management is vastly improved over previous access process. The ability to customize query outputs to optimize the users need for information is invaluable.

  • Positive: it was affordable and relatively inexpensive to implement.
  • Negative: The slow operating speed of Epicor has had a very big impact on our productivity. It is a real problem at the end of the month when we are trying to make sure that we meet monthly goals.
  • Negative: the bugginess of the product also negatively affects productivity and takes a lot of IT support. We are often held up by submitting problem reports and waiting for answers from support.
  • Negative: the lack of some features has required us to find workarounds, and this too negatively affects productivity.

  • Departments work better and have better communication between them.
  • Positively changing the way we do business.

  • Epicor ERP has paid for itself over the past 5 years of usage, but did not generate the 2 year ROI anticipated, as the costs of training and customization were higher than anticipated.
  • Epicor has helped us to visualize our scheduling constraints sooner, but has not eliminated the need for additional scheduling considerations beyond machine availability (e..g ability to tie multiple resource constraints to the same job and see the impact).
  • Epicor's custom dashboards have helped coordinate and communicate better between sales, program management, manufacturing and shipping, resulting in fewer missed deliveries, more timely client notifications, and less confusion on the shop floor.

  • It's had a positive impact on our workflow. Hard to add numbers but it's reduced the number of spreadsheets being used.
  • It's increased our reporting capabilities by having all our data in one place.

  • Getting better information from custom reports
  • Getting better information from modules because they require employees to enter more information and have more fields for them to enter information
  • Making some repeat processes quicker, so users can get done with tasks quicker

  • The ROI can be hard to quantify. We spend more time setting up and entering information up front, but we spend less time than before trying to track project costs so that evens out. Purchasing the system and implementing it was very expensive, but the benefit is the the better information can save money on projects as we know where best to spend our time and identify potential problems earlier on a project. We believe it will have a positive impact, but I'd say it will take a few years (3-4) to be worth it.

  • ROI not quantifiable for the system but clearly the complexity of the jobs and accurate job costing would not be possible without an integrated manufacturing system and Epicor ERP is the most capable of being customizable for the unique environment.
  • Every employee is a "buyer" and has the ability to purchase whatever is needed for the project they are working on or their job function. In an extremely flat organizational structure (three levels for 700+ self-managed employees) anything that avoids barriers to productivity is a huge plus.
  • Massive customizations in previous versions has made upgrading to ERP 10 a lengthy process but built-in customization tools will make this easier going beyond ERP 10.
  • The system was implemented prior to the Projects module so everything is crammed into a job structure. Switching to Projects (made of jobs) will be a huge organizational streamlining.
