Here is an example of how end users can create a dashboard / report using the self-serve feature of eQube-BI. 

The user types in simple English phrases to create a dashboard that shows the Bill of Material of a Jet Engine.  Along with the BOM information the CAD JT files attached to the assemblies in Teamcenter is also fetched and rendered in the report . 

At the same time, cost and the target cost is fetched from excel file. All this information is fetched on the fly from the systems in production, with no intermediate storage and mashed up together by eQube-BI. The user inherits all the access rights he/ she has in the native application (Teamcenter in this case), Instead of excel this can be an ERP application such as SAP

The user can do further analysis, highlight costs compared to the target cost with a different colors.

Sub assemblies in the BOM can be deselected and the CAD rendering in the dashboard can be switched off.

This uses the 3D insight module of eQube-BI as well as self-serve feature.

The self-serve feature internally uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) along with Domain Ontologies, which is aware of business domain related entities (Domain concepts) such as BOM, Change management etc.
