Eventbrite is a global ticketing and event technology platform that provides creators of events with tools and resources to plan, promote, and produce live experiences.

The vendor says event organizers can benefit from Eventbrite’s self-service event planning tools including email invitation creation, RSVP tracking, and ticket selling. Ticket sales can be managed online via the ticketing website or through integration with social media sites including Facebook, and real-time sales data aims to help event planners assess attendance and profit.

The platform includes powerful discovery channels and robust marketing tools, which, according to the vendor, facilitate high conversion rates. Eventbrite's goal is to help users zero in on the most interested event-goers and sell more tickets to their events.

Eventbrite has proven to be an effective tool for managing event registration, whether for virtual or in-person events. Users praise Eventbrite for its fast and user-friendly platform, featuring a simple and elegant interface. It has successfully addressed various business problems, such as RSVP and ticket management, specific messaging to attendees, database management, promotion, social integration, and ticket revenue management. The platform is particularly useful for creating landing pages and registrations for recurring events like weekly online shows.

Despite some users experiencing issues with Eventbrite's payout system for paid in-person events, the platform integrates well with a variety of other platforms, offering a clean and easy user experience for tracking attendees and analyzing the effectiveness of advertising platforms. Users also appreciate how Eventbrite helps them stay connected with industry professionals through listed events, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Non-profit organizations utilize Eventbrite to manage donor engagement, fundraising events, and donor contact and contribution management. Real estate brokerages leverage the platform for event promotion, collecting contact information, and handling paid ticketing. Academic institutions rely on Eventbrite for hosting concerts, conferences, and other events while streamlining registration, payments, attendee communication, and sales reports.

User Interface: Reviewers have consistently praised Eventbrite's user interface, with many stating that it is simple, elegant, and clean. It has been described as intuitive and easy to navigate, allowing users to quickly access the necessary features without the need for extensive tutorials or training.

Cloud-Based System: Many users appreciate Eventbrite's cloud-based system, which eliminates the need for excessive integration and administrative tasks. By simply logging in and sharing a link, event organizers can start using the platform conveniently and efficiently. The cloud-based nature of Eventbrite also enables easy collaboration and access to event information from anywhere.

Affordable Pricing: Numerous reviewers have commended Eventbrite's pricing structure as affordable and reasonable. Users consider it a top-of-the-class workflow solution that provides great value for its features and functionality. This affordability allows users to effectively manage their events without incurring significant costs.

Difficult Customer Support: Some users have expressed frustration with customer support at Eventbrite. They have mentioned that it can be difficult to reach customer support representatives and that issues take a long time to resolve. This lack of responsive support can hinder users from effectively addressing their concerns or resolving problems quickly.

Limited Customization Options: Many users have expressed a desire for more customization options within Eventbrite. Specifically, they would like the ability to customize landing pages and email templates according to their branding needs. The current limitations in customization prevent them from fully personalizing their event pages and promotional materials, which could impact the overall attendee experience and brand consistency.

Users have made several recommendations based on their experiences with these event management platforms. The most common recommendations are as follows:

Recommendation 1: For Picatic, users suggest using it if you can afford the fees and are organizing non-regular events. They appreciate its user-friendly interface and modern features.

Some suggest trying Eventbrite's Pro Features if you can afford them. While it is worth paying for, they note that it is suitable for basic events but may not be ideal for extra complicated ones. Users also mention using Eventbrite for fundraising initiatives and launching multiple events on the platform.

Recommendation 3: Trello is described as a turnkey solution for basic events, and users recommend trying it out for event management. They encourage exploring all the features of Trello to make the most of the platform.

Overall, users emphasize the ease of use of these event management platforms and provide specific suggestions to improve certain areas such as accessibility and options for event descriptions and title pages in Eventbrite.

We produce a weekly online show involving a fireside chat and networking. Eventbrite is great for creating a landing page and registration for this weekly show--and it's free. We also produce in-person events and have used Eventbrite in the past for our paid ticketing. However, now Eventbrite changed their payouts to only pay event producers after an event closes. Our monthly events are starting this fall. Unfortunately we had to find another ticketing platform for our paid in-person events because we can't sustain cash flow with Eventbrite holding our cash for six months or longer. And there's no interest on the cash Eventbrite holds. Each event has around $50k in ticket sales.
  • Creating landing pages that stand out and are trusted.
  • Communicating with attendees pre and post event.
  • The integration with Zoom is good, though there were some recent changes that have confused our attendees on our weekly virtual show.
  • Offering other options for merchant processing--Stripe, PayPal, Square, etc.
  • Hard to repurpose the weekly events for replay viewing. Have to copy the event and replace the online link with the video link to Youtube.
Easy to use, free for online events. Great platform--trusted by many.

Not as good for paid events anymore since they changed their payout policy.
  • Represents our brand well. Like that there is an organizer profile.
  • Easy to use. Interface is very intuitive.
  • I like how it renders the images when shared on social.
  • Eventbrite is still holding our funds from 2019 for an event that was postponed.
  • My money is not working for me when it is sitting with Eventbrite. They only pay out a few weeks after an event. If you are producing an event where you have upfront costs, you have to pay all of those costs using funds other than ticket sales. Eventbrite does not offer any interest on the money they are holding, which in my case is a six-month lead time from start of ticket sales to end of event.
Eventbrite is excellent for free events and does a great job with virtual events. Eventbrite does not offer an alternative to merchant processing. Freshtix and Passage allow me to use our own merchant processing systems. With Eventbrite, you have to use their processor and they hold all money until two to three weeks after an event. We used to receive daily payouts.

Must be familiar with ticketing platforms and uses. We have our marketing team overseeing most of our Eventbrite postings. We also link Eventbrite to MailChimp and Whova so we can tell who has signed up for various events. Basic level of skill needed including use of web platforms, filling in forms, copywriting.
  • Registration for our free weekly virtual show
  • Ticketing sales for our in-person events
  • Promotions of previous event revordings
  • Virtual show hosting for free
  • Building our mailing list
  • Scheduling larger meetings, not just events
  • Building mailing lists
  • Creating workshops and training events
Excellent platform and easy to use to create events. Eventbrite sets the standard for simple, effective and safe ticketing platforms. Our customers trust Eventbrite and we've always done well when we use this platform for ticketing. They have recently updated some of the virtual connectivity tools which make it even easier to set up and promote virtual events.
Yes
We were using a local ticketing platform that was designed for concerts. Not as flexible as Eventbrite for setting up meetings and virtual events. We needed a platform that rendered our events better on social sharing links and provided a good image for our events and brand. I also like the organizer page where our customers/attendees can see more info about the organizer.

The platform has to be easy to use for all of our staff. Updates and changes happen fairly frequently these days, so we needed something flexible and with good payout terms. Early on during the pandemic, Eventbrite held all funds until after an event. Just recently (within the past 2 months) they have moved back to allowing weekly payouts up to 80% in advance. It's critical to have cash flow, but also to ensure our audiences that they can get refunds if we need to postpone (again)
There are a lot of features Eventbrite doesn't have such as countdown clocks.

I'm not as concerned about price because we pass on fees to our ticket buyers. Our ticket agerages are higher than most events, with roughly $500 per ticket. Eventbrite was able to provide a contract to cap the fees, which is nice and expected with high ticket costs like ours.
Eventbrite has improved their customer support recently. They've made a big effort to reconnect with customers since last year. When Covid hit, they pivoted quickly into virtual and made free registration possible for virtual meetings. Before Covid it was hard to reach anyone for support, but now I can tell they have people connecting with customers once again. It's interesting because they have specialists who focus only on one area of the platform, such as marketing or payments. The specialists can't help with areas outside their expertise, but they are good at helping customers understand how to use the platform for specific functions.
I have a premium account with Eventbrite. It offers "Tailored partnership and unlimited product usage for growing and operating large and complex events." I produce weekly virtual shows and use Eventbrite for free registration. Haven't had to contact customer support for the free events. Also produce monthly in-person meetings, which were scheduled for this fall but now rescheduled for spring due to covid. Was easy enough to change the dates on Eventbrite that I didn't need support. One area I might get in touch with them about is ease of logging into the event via their platform. I have had some complaints from attendees that accessing the meetings are difficult in the Zoom integration. They made some updates to this recently which are supposed to improve this by allowing attendees to connect directly to Zoom.

I haven't had to ask for any help, but I am looking at streamlining the process for registration and promotions of our weekly shows.

No
Eventbrite contacted me this summer to let me know they were offering advance payouts again. When Covid hit and everything shut down in the event industry, Eventbrite made a decision to hold all payments until after an event ended. As a producer of events with average ticket price of $500, this really hurt cash flow, as we have huge expenses before the event such as venue rental, video crews, our event platform, etc.. I refunded all tickets last year when we had to postpone all of our events. Last year and this year have sucked for event producers like me. No one wants to pay for virtual conferences or meetings. The decision by Eventbrite at the time caused me to search for other ticketing platforms that offered advance payouts.

I was skeptical at first when an Eventbrite commercial manager reached out to me to set up a zoom meeting. She was very personable and clearly understood my situation. I was delighted to hear they had changed their policy to allow up to 80% advance payments, with weekly payouts. They sent a new agreement which I was happy to sign. Hopeful that we can continue on schedule with our in-person meetings in spring 2022. Counting on Eventbrite for our main revenue stream. For now, focused on setting up sponsors.
Eventbrite is very easy to use. I can set up an event in about 10 minutes. It's also helpful to be able to copy previous events which have customized registration forms that are integrated with MailChimp and Whova, our event app/hybrid platform.

I love how URL's from Eventbrite render in social media. Very clear hero images with easy one click access to registration pages. Most importantly, I think it's one of the most trusted ticketing platforms available.
  • Setting up events
  • App integrations with Zoom, MailChimp and Whova
  • I love how the background automatically takes the color scheme from our hero/brand images
  • Setting up notification emails after a ticket is purchased
  • Setting up replays of events. We have weekly shows and I want to have registration for attendees so we can keep them in the loop. We record every show and post it on YouTube. Can't keep the original link to the Zoom recording because of storage, and the vent on Zoom ended. Was using Eventbrite to promote the replays for a few months but it was fairly time consuming. Would be great if I could repurpose an event that ended as a replay instead of having to copy the event and set it up with the link to the video on YouTube.
  • Viewing attendee lists in one screen
Yes
Great. I love seeing those ticket sales coming in when I'm out of the office. Also can manage checkins on site using the organizer app and QR codes.

They have 2 apps, one for organizers and one for attendees. Both are exceptionally easy to use. The organizer app has dashboard reporting optimized for mobile so I can monitor sales from anywhere.

We're a PAC (political action committee) which hosts events for our own fundraising, candidates' outreach, and raising political participation among AAPI (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders). We've a need of open enrollment for all manner of attendees and complex guestlist administration since some / most are repeats, some are new (Young Professionals we want), some are special guests (require data confidentiality), and some are staff (sponsored or fee-free or other) with need to edit, filter, and sort the lists ongoing for trolls, vandals, special access, special notations, accommodations, etc. Eventbrite has long had the most widely known and liked UI/service for event enrollment requiring no special skills or knowledge but moreover simple, elegant, and fast UI thus better for ourselves and guests alike thus improving our branding and registration rates.
  • Simple, elegant, clean UI
  • Guest list admin is everything we want without excess, cruft
  • System is cloud based thus requires no excess integration, admin beyond a login, link
  • Affordable rates for top of class workflow
  • Universally known, no friction or fear generated
  • Branding is custom and sufficient to balance ours and Eventbrite's
  • Complex guestlist sort features to give more fine priority
  • Recognization of VIP registrants
  • Host and user profiles so records can be touted if desired
  • Discounts for nonprofits and charitable organizations
  • Integrations preferably without Zapier
  • Explicit related, recommended event controls
We're a nonprofit organization so we have a very lean time, labor, and money so the super easy self-explanatory nature makes it easy for our team to admin an event. The simple UI [of Eventbrite] keeps our focus on the event and avoids any headache-inducing tech hurdles. There're just enough user roles to handle multi-staffer admin.

A less appropriate situation is an event that is huge in complexity with a custom workflow and processing which Eventbrite's not built to handle in-house such as multi-step registration, multiple item and category all-select options during registration, multi-event type (not just physical or ticket but virtual goods tracking), more HootSuite-like social media refinery, etc.
  • Public open registration
  • Confidence-inspiring attribution to our org even when EventBrite hosted, branded
  • Email notifications finely configurable
  • All events for years have flawless registration
  • Our supporters, attendees, staff, all report zero friction for event management
  • All payments transact properly, no need for customer service tickets
  • Branding, user management, budget demands are just enough for us to not be overwhelmed at the service levels
  • No injury to thru assisting our core brand and mission
Facebook Events are a de facto must-have but the registration is not included beyond a simple 3-way indicator (Interested, Going, Not Going) which only supplements but so many of our supporters, attendees, staff, etc. object to Facebook for various reasons (data haul, at-scale harm to democracy, fomenting hate for ad revenue, etc.) thus we can't vote to pay it any money or even data so we won't even manually duplicate events there anymore.

  • Data mine the historical record

  • Brand it thoroughly as to make it more akin to our digital experience
We have for all the aforementioned reasons in the review such widespread satisfaction across all user types with no viable competitor at this value that we continue renewal for the foreseeable future.
Yes
Facebook Events for quite many years 2005-2015 was the obvious free event registration especially before Facebook's ongoing outings for its data mining, user abusing, violence fomenting, and evil tolerating scandals as to force our org, one based in progressive humanistic ideals, to distance ourselves. Furthermore, so many of our staff, attendees, and supporters left Facebook as to force a replatforming. We are however completely happy with the change which should've, would've occurred even were it not for the aforementioned scandals.
  • Product Usability
Its being self-explanatory for all staff who'd configure and load events, for all our attendees many of whom have neither time nor patience for a login-heavy site, and for supporters to see we're using donor dollars very efficiently and obviously are all requirements which our former Facebook Pages Managers for Events failed to meet.
We'd emphasize that more data analysis be done on the service thus a fancy system like NVGVan would do that, but its cost is 10 fold more and requires a bigger admin buy-in.
  • Implemented in-house
No
Change management was minimal
It's event registration and management in its classic manner, so there's no change management since event data is overwritten upon change. Easy. No Git-like craziness or versioning messiness, we neither care nor want the such.
  • Simplifying our writing so it fits into the text field; less is more though
  • Which users to give which roles, but again less is more
  • Branding let-ups so we act within EventBrite boundaries; mostly convincing people the pages are official events
Just jump in, don't over thinking it, doing it will net the very few basic questions you'll have. There's not much complexity so one doesn't need to plan as if moving a canal. It's as simple as can be.
Our only interaction with support was purchasing and onboarding since we've had no problems since then. Flawless, but limited insight.
We did not as it doesn't exist.
No
It's the classic Eventbrite experience. It's simple enough for even non-tech and tech-fearing folks. For registrants of all sorts, it's just enough: it does the job, it does it well, it does it without fail. For those seeking complexity, there're just enough advanced features on both ends, public user profiles to admin config.
  • Event configuration
  • Event viewing
  • Admin user roles
  • Registering new admins and new registrants
  • Multi-step event registration
  • Post-registration processing
  • Virtual goods checkout integration
Yes
It's as-expected: it works, it's responsive web.

Eventbrite has been used this year and previously for registering individual attendees for a professional development and networking conference, across the whole organization. It's a pretty efficient ticket sales and donation gateway for the size events this organization produces.
  • Options for creating specialized demographic-gathering questions. Great for post-event analytics about attendees, which is also helpful for future event planning.
  • Coding for ticket discounts and complimentary passes. We have many guest passes that need unique codes. This saves the event staff from manually registering specialized individual ticket sales. It also enables drilling down for post-event analytics.
  • Clean design layout. Simple to set up, simple for attendees to navigate.
  • Drilling down through order details can be a bit tedious.
  • Setting requirement switches for some customized customer questions may seem complicated.
  • Badge creation has limited design options.
While Eventbrite is really quite good for both individual and multiple-purchase ticket purchases, and we have used both, it is our experience with sponsors and group registrations that they need group tickets best handled through a personal registrar due to a lot of ticket changes that can't be self-administered easily online by the buyers.
  • The online fees are reasonable.
  • Having fees payable by the buyer is convenient.
  • For no-cost ticketed events, it is very helpful to nonprofits that Eventbrite doesn't charge for online ticket management.
While we haven't used other products, we were approached by Evensi for promoting our event - they found our Eventbrite webpage and contacted us for further services. Several on our planning committee gave it some thought, as Evensi brought our Eventbrite webpage an additional 2K+ general viewers. We considered the enhancement might be worth it, but it would have incurred an additional cost, and we didn't think the ROI was worth it due to our very specific niche audience. We decided our audience was best suited by sticking with Eventbrite's features and our own marketing on our social media pages and websites with links to our Eventbrite page.
We've been able to find a good tech and user support as needed for all our Eventbrite events throughout the years.

We used Eventbrite in our organization in our department to reach out to the public on events we were holding across the state. It helped us keep track of the amount of attendees, made them aware to the location and time of events, and let us develop relationships with the public sector.
  • Tracking of attendees
  • Event detail page and tickets sales are exquisite
  • Letting others share the event
  • User friendly interface
  • Excellent and professional looking design
  • Non-profit version should be available for a lower cost on ticket sales
  • Difficult beginner learning curve
  • Not 100% customizable
Ticket sales and a great looking ticket sales landing page is Eventbrite's strong suit. I like that they use location for events to promote events throughout the area by using your location. This can be handy on gathering a new audience/clientele. Depending on your size, the cost of per ticket sale can be steep depending on what kind of sales you are pulling.
  • Wide audience reach
  • Faster ticket sales
  • Great appearance to public

We sold spots/tickets to only free events we held. We are a government organization so we didn't sell tickets to our events which made Eventbrite or first choice for ticket sales. I've recommended Eventbrite to many people since my first experience with it.

We used Eventbrite on multiple occasions to sell tickets for Golf Tournaments, Special Events, Grand Openings, etc.
  • Very easy to use and setup.
  • Great integration with Facebook.
  • Looks very professional and clean.
  • Fees they charge for processing orders is a little too high...actually deterred some of our clients from using the tool.
As I said before, very easy to use and does not take someone with programming experience to set it up - GREAT TOOL!
  • Clean and professional interface.
  • Allowed the small businesses we worked with to promote and track their special events.
It's so easy to use - could not imagine an easier tool.
  • Overall creation of Events is very simple, and it looks great when complete.
  • None that I can think of...

The mobile version looks just as great as the desktop.
So easy to setup and build an event, especially for someone like me with limited programming experience.
