The framework is easy to learn, with an extensive documentation & training materials. The easy use of QML with the entirety of Qt and the best C++ libraries as a back-end. The robust performance, number of LoC, number of supported platforms as well as the integrated theming/navigation.
  • You can easily build apps without needing to know the entire framework. If you are a beginner, it might take a while to figure out the details, make sure to check out the examples all across the documentation
  • You have the whole world of Qt at your hands when using Felgo.
  • If you search for answers online, also search for Qt related answers and resources, you can use them with Felgo as well.
  • Examples could have been more
  • Best to create cross platform applications
I'm developing MVPs and complete the apps in the record time.
With Felgo on top, the Qt framework becomes much more powerful and allows me to turn around much more complex, time-consuming, multi-platform projects.
No matter what platform, there are rarely reasons not to consider Qt & Felgo for that.
  • The great variety of plugins
  • Superior UI/UX quality
  • Felgo Cloud Builds automates my workflows and saves me time for test and publish builds.
  • Development cost became low

I have used Felgo to develop cross platform application for Android, iOS, Windows and MAC. It makes programming easier for cross platform apps, as many things are readily available. Solutions are provided in documentation and also the forum is responsive enough to help the developer-facing issues.
At a personal level I have used Felgo to develop a game and compared to other tools Felgo helped develop the project faster, given that I was already familiar with Qt. Just one request would be Felgo documentation needs to be improved with granular details. Some information is not provided and have to contact support to team to solve issues that should be readily available in the documentation. Also Documentation is not fully updated with the latest changes in Felgo APIs etc. Apart from that, I believe Felgo and Qt combination can provide robust solutions to developers.

  • Ready available solutions for all platform mobile app development.
  • Live hot reloading of UI and other advance controls by Felgo implemented in Qt.
  • Using Qt underneath provides an opportunity to developers to use it in all kind of sectors like embedded devices, mobile apps, desktop apps, games etc.
  • Improve documentation for Felgo. APIs and usage of Felgo functionalities are not updated with granular details.
  • More examples would help, there are very few examples available for developers to explore functionalities.
Pros: Felgo could be very useful for faster development of mobile apps, games etc. It is based on Qt hence cross platform apps can easily be developed. There are multiple advanced controls and UI elements available to develop apps quickly.
Cons: As it is based on Qt it requires an understanding of c++ and Qt. handling native functionalities of mobile platform requires extra efforts as it is based on Qt, c++ only.
  • Ready available solutions for cross platform mobile apps.
  • Ready available solutions for UI controls.
  • Hot reload of UI
  • product not released so not applicable.
As I was already a C++ and Qt developer, Felgo was obvious choice over other tools. Also its cross-platform solutions for mobile apps and Qt's ability to provide cross-platform tool for all other devices makes this perfect choice.

We use Felgo to realize our mobile applications. We have created a mobile currency conversion application. It is an excellent application design tool that allowed us to quickly develop our project. The possibilities are almost endless and it was a real pleasure to work with this tool. Felgo is among the easiest cross-platform tools to use according to a survey done by research2guidance : Qt-Creator IDE with Code Completion, Debugging and Profiling, integrated Quick Help, Version Control and more.
  • Easy to use
  • Lot of tools
  • Good communication with the team
  • QML component / C++ code with hot reload feature.
It is a very good tool for making all types of mobile and web applications once you know how to use it. It allowed us to realize several application concepts, such as currency converter, pregnancy monitoring, QR code flash for product evaluation. No need for native SDKs, Build in and Install from Cloud with the Felgo Build Server.
  • Cross-Platform Achievements
  • Fully customizable UI
  • Cross-Platform Leaderboards
  • UI Design
  • Performances of the app
We prefer to use Felgo because of the facility to use it, and because Felgo has friendly forums where core developers participate as well as fast & helpful email support. And more, we can use ready-made components to balance any of your game properties at runtime, so also on mobile devices which is great for adjusting forces or input parameters.

I am right now creating internal prototypes to test different ideas. This is really a game changer on how I was planning to go during the first days, learning. We are right now being productive and the Felgo demo apps are real and complete spaces to start from. My entire dev area is using it to submit fast proposals and iterations. We might even believe that many will stick and be delivered on top of this framework. It helps us to create a faster approval cycle into prototypes with the internal clients, and we are exploring the functionality that will allow us to make changes to services in our apps without having to submit constantly to app stores.
  • Easy to learn.
  • Fast development cycles.
  • Can grow from JavaScript plus QML into C++ if needed.
  • Can use existing talent that comes from Web platforms.
  • Has a very supportive community.
  • Clarify the complexities related Qt and QML licensing.
  • Allow for a better splash screen loading experience with the free license.
  • Correct the ssl problem when installing under Ubuntu.

Felgo shines in rapid prototype development and fast iterations.

It also has a very short learning curve compared to many other technologies that promise "code once, deploy everywhere."

It is not appropriate if you are not willing to mess with the licensing related to Qt but I am still waiting for a clear answer on my doubts from the Felgo team.

  • Faster output from current resources.
  • Leveraging current abilities and talent.
  • Constant feedback from internal clients in shorter cycles.
Felgo has the shortest learning curve making the teams productive almost from week 1.
It also has easy tooling with fast iterations without having long compile and deployment times.
So far, we believe that this product was a good fit to our current talent and resources.

As with all development solutions, it will really depend on the internal development culture and maybe more complex scenarios could go best with a native approach.

  • Prototypes.
  • Internal approval cycles.

  • Mix gaming technologies to add value in serious games business scenarios.
  • Mixed experiences simulators for internal training.
  • Visual business simulations.
  • Edutainment.
  • Remote training.
  • We will try getting into some mobile games.
I am happy with the constant feedback that I am receiving from the team. Although most of it is marketing related, there are some interesting and valuable materials that they have been pushing to ease my learning. The quality of the documentation and the ease of use may be some important values to take into account. We believe that the agility that we have acquired until now for developing apps for our business cases give this framework an important lead.

I was first attracted into getting to the "code once, deploy everywhere" paradigm that is part of their attention grabber. But I got really in love with the fast development cycle experience that I discovered. I thought at first that my learning curve would be a lengthy one. But I am really surprised at how fast the development cycle is and how far I have gotten into creating prototypes in just a week after downloading and installing it. It reminds me of the way I was used to creating fast and attractive apps when I developed under Adobe Flash.
I believe that our evaluation process was great and maybe it caught our attention that Felgo was not under our radar initially This leads us to believe that we need to refine our research process whenever we have to take a decision on implementing new technologies as we plan to have support and invest for the next couple of years.
As with any product, Felgo has some edges to it, but from our past experiences evaluating "code once, deploy everywhere" platforms, we were really surprised at how fast the team went from exploring, into playing and presenting prototypes in very little time. The dev cycle is really fast as I can get an almost instantaneous feedback on the changes that I make. And it is refreshing to see how I am able to target several platforms at once. The javascript plus QML combination made it really easy to pick up for me and I am certain sure that many devs can migrate from Web only into multi-platform in a fast manner. And there is also the possibility to implement C++ code if the need arises to support and bridge native libraries.
  • Installation.
  • Learning.
  • Fast dev cycles.
  • Continuous feedback with internal clients.
  • Prototype exploration.
  • It shows its origins as a game dev platform because performance matters.
  • Dealing with the licensing model from Qt.
Yes
It is a playground to test immediately your apps without having to send things into an approval cycle on the different stores.
As such, it has worked very, very well to us.
