We use FloQast in our month-end close process. FloQast helps our team stay organized and on task while closing the month. FloQast also helps us stay in compliance with well documented sign-offs with time stamps and connection with our cloud-based storage. FloQast integrates with NetSuite as well which helps with our reconciliations each month.
  • Tracking deadlines
  • Calling out variances between schedules and GL
  • Team Collaboration
  • Variance Analysis Capabilities
  • Customization of Dashboards
FloQast is quite suitable where the management wants to maintain their books of accounts to be very accurate through continuous and detailed sign-off mechanisms for account reconciliations and a checklist of activities to be followed for the period close (monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.) This will ensure the good quality of account records that will support management during the various audit purposes.

We use FloQast to manage our month end close tasks and reconciliations for multiple entities. It is integrated with our accounting software to ensure that are schedules match what is in our financials. We also use the Variance Analysis module to comment on and present analysis on month over month variances on our PL and BS to our CFO. Overall FloQast made managing month end close and the various tasks that make it up so much easier.
  • Analyzing workload
  • Tracking deadlines
  • Calling out variances between schedules and GL
  • Notifications of your items due that day
Great if you have a larger team and/or need to manage the month end close process of multiple entities.

Similar to Blackline and Cadency Trintech, FloQast does close monioring and SOX compliance extremely well. Where FloQast differentiates itself however is in their superior customer service, plus constant innovation.

Month-End Close & FLUX: You no longer have to use a Gsheet to see how the close is going; you can look at the Dashboard to see exactly how it's going. Check where the bottlenecks are and possibly reassign tasks if needed. The FLUX is also linked to the Month End Close, which makes the filling out a breeze, as most of it was done during the Recon process. We have used FQ for 2-3 years and love it!
  • Managing Month End Close.
  • FLUX
  • Customer Service- Their reps are so prompt in responding to questions (FAST).
  • Compliance Module- Hard to manage Prepare/Review/Filing Deadline for Tax filings.
  • Prepaid Module- Limiting unwanted changes (Audit Trail).
  • A little cheaper.
If complex close items need to be done in the correct order or multiple subs, FQ makes it a breeze to track. If your close is simple, or done with only a few people, their system might not be a great benefit. With a team of 20, we need a tool like this to keep everyone on the same page!

We use FloQast to manage our close process and other recurring tasks across the Accounting team. We have a 5-day close, which requires us to be efficient. It helps to keep track of all of the activities required to close the books, track the status, and also ensure completeness. We also track the status of balance sheet reconciliations using FloQast.
  • Provides a clear status of the month end close.
  • Allows us to analyze tasks by team member and reassign as needed.
  • It syncs with our ERP Netsuite to ensure balance sheet reconciliations can be tied out directly.
  • It also connects with Slack to notify users of key deadlines and changes in review status for team tasks.
  • The file attachments have a size limit, which can be frustrating for teams working with large data sets.
  • Providing a consolidated status of close is not possible, only an entity by entity view.
  • The auto recon feature isn’t that helpful with larger data sets. Still requires human input to finalize and tie out fully.
Floqast is an easy tool to implement. It also fits into your existing close process rather than forcing your team to adjust their process to do with the tool. It also helps to reduce the time to close, as all team members have a clear line of sight of their assigned tasks and due dates and provide notifications as functions are reviewed.

We use FloQast to manage all aspects of our close and post-close processes. It allows for tracking of our tasks so that we know at any given moment if we are on schedule with our monthly close. It allows for easy review of journal entries and reports. In addition, FloQast allows us to track and review our reporting deliverables to the business.
  • Tracking of close tasks thanks to the monthly close calendar option
  • Review - tasks are stamped with the reviewer name & date reviewed
  • Ease of review - attachments are uploaded, account balances are populated via communication with the ERP, Note feature allows for review comments
  • A setting to allow for attachments to automatically be opened within the app (Adobe, Excel, etc.) rather than as a separate tab in the browser
  • Some of our tasks are quarterly or annual so assigning a very specific date would be helpful
  • Eliminate the need of "closing" review notes. Once we change the status to Resolved, that should be sufficient. Make Resolved and Closed one and the same
FloQast is extremely useful when it comes to set tasks that rarely change month to month. It is less useful for ad hoc requests and one offs that probably won't be repeated on a regular basis. It could be used to track one-offs but depending on the size of the organization, that could turn out to be a large number of work items that shouldn't need that level of tracking.

I and my team use FloQast daily for our monthly close checklist and account reconciliations. We've loaded each team member's daily tasks into the FloQast checklist. I hold meetings during our financial close and throughout the month to follow up on regular tasks. As a manager, the checklist is a valuable tool in communicating expectations and holding team members accountable. The check list significantly boosts efficiency across our teams on the regular tasks leaving us more time to coordinate and sort out the unnusual tasks. It is very simple to add tasks and customize the tasks for whatever needs to be done. The built in analytics of completion for checklist tasks and account reconciliations help me quickly understand what work my team has done and what we need to focus on going forward. I use the % completion analytics by team member frequently to ensure we are going in the right direction. The reatures of FloQast are expecially helpful in a remote work environment. Again, very valuable as a manager/leader.
  • Customizing tasks on checklist (Description, preparer, reviewer, due date, etc.
  • Reconciliation preparation, review signoffs and review notes documentation
  • Analytics on task/reconciliation completion/on track/incomplete/late.
  • The flux analysis. This is a great idea for simple company structures. [...] has 25+ subsidiaries and the Flux analysis can only be viewed as a BS or IS by Subsidiary. If there was a way to view the flux at a consolidated level by unique sub/account combo, it would be more helpful. Currently, it is more clunky than useful for our application.
  • Mass checklist/reconciliation updates or creation. We've had issues with successfully uploading data in an accurate way.
  • A way to automate account recon creation when new accounts are created in the accounting software. The Completeness check is a good controll to identify accounts in the accounting software that have not been added in FloQast but the next step would be to have an easier or automated solution for adding those accounts to NetSuite. Again, this is coming from a company with alot of subsidiaries and we keep adding more and large number of accounts often need to be added to FloQast all at once.
FloQast excels at tracking, and coordinate the different stages of a financial close. It is super useful for larger operations and teams where several tasks need to be coordinated in order. For smaller companies and teams, it may not be worth it because you may not utilize it to its fullest capabilities.

Help onboard new team members, streamline the closing process, and keep track of month-end timelines (projected and and actual closing dates).
  • The core solution functions well and helps us ensure all the relevant deliverables are completed.
  • Excellent customer service. Always quick to help and striving to improve the product.
  • Great user interface and well-functioning cloud-based solution.
  • Make it easier and less cost-prohibitive to use additional modules.
  • Reduce the number of folders required to be maintained on OneDrive (i.e. sub-folders for different workflows instead of separate folders).
Well suited for streamlining and standardizing month-end close processes, especially for larger organizations with complex and/or more rigorous reporting requirements.

We are using FloQast to control the quality of account reconciliations. Users are required to upload detailed account reconciliations along with a breakdown of the balance as it appears on the trial balance. Until the balance as per the file containing the account reconciliation and balance as per Trial balance does not match exactly, the system will not allow the user to sign off the reconciliation in Floqast. Further, the reconciliation goes to the manager for his review. If he is satisfied with the quality of the details uploaded on Floqast, he approves the reconciliation to complete the sign of that particular account.
  • Creating a checklist of the activities to be completed for any period close.
  • Summary of signed-off and open account reconciliations for user and manager.
  • Integration with ERP system for updation of Trial balance.
  • More controls on quality of reconciliations needed to sign off.

We use FloQast for our monthly and annual reconciliations. It is a great tool for managing the close. FloQast helps identify where processes in the close are taking more time and needs more focus. We also use it as a tool during our audits. The sign off of recons and also storing documents in FloQast helps make audits much easier.
  • Great for audit support
  • Great tool for monthly and annual close
  • Great for tracking where the efficiency and inefficiencies are
  • A calendar look to see all tasks/projects in one view
FloQast is a great tool to use during the close. Being able to see where the bottle necks are helps identify where my team needs to focus. Having that information helps improve our close process. The sign offs of the reconciliations and also being able save the supporting documentation in one place is great for our annual audits.

Floqast has been an invaluable addition to our month-end close process and allows our remotely distributed team to collaborate and communicate quickly and effectively throughout our entire close cycle - from our first journal entries through our reporting package distribution to management. In addition to the checklist module, the reconciliation functionality allows us to always ensure real-time alignment with our ERP, and documents clean review notes and action items. The flux module helps us ensure we can easily investigate and comment on unexpected results and trends or even compare to our budgets/forecasts. It's a great tool for any finance & accounting team to effectively manage your close, I would strongly recommend!
  • I can easily see at any point in time tasks are still pending completion, what's ready for my review, what reconciliations have been modified and are now out of balance.
  • The analytics section does a great job of highlighting bottlenecks on certain roles/individuals or even on certain days of the close calendar. With ease, we were able to redistribute responsibilities and close on a much more consistent and accurate basis.
  • We've been able to use the Remind functionality quite effectively to obtain unrecorded liability details from key vendors, prompt our engineering team to complete their submissions for capitalized software requirements, and remind spend owners to attach outstanding receipts to credit card transactions.
  • It would be great to see drill down capabilities between account reconciliations/flux analyses that links to our transactional data in our ERP.
  • I would like to see a litte more customization available in the analytics tab to add custom filter drop downs.
  • I believe this is close to being released, but I'd like to see anticipated time commitments on the task level to be able to easily review capacity type reporting/analytics.
I think FloQast is really well suited for most accounting teams that work collaboratively on the closing cycle, but will especially work well for distributed teams that work in multiple time zones. Adoption has really been key for our success in the tool. If your users are committed to marking off items as they complete them, the tool works great. If you can't get members/teams to consistently check-off tasks or reconciliations, it can be a bit challenging to be able to comprehend and analyze the results.

We use it for tasks, journal entries, reconciliation and project that needs to meet deadlines. It is best task tracer for month end close and check mark the tasks are done and notify the group with out back and forth sending emails and ask the questions if the task is completed or not.
  • Organize files for every month and roll forward
  • Task tracker
  • Monthly reconciliation and comparison

We use Floqast to manage our monthly and quarterly close process. The main modules we use are Close, Autorec, Remind and Analytics. Floqast has made tracking tasks and outstanding items easier and allowed the team to identify blockers that impacted our close. It allowed us to automate a lot of simple recurring tasks like outreach emails, reminders, as well as ensuring reconciliations are always in sync with our ERP.
  • Floqast is very simple and intuitive to use. It takes very little time to onboard and get started with a simple close process but it offers a breadth of features for power users and more complex organizations.
  • We have a great relationship with our account manager and they have been very receptive to our feedback. It feels like Floqast is a true partner with us and helping us to grow.
  • Centralizes all documentation for our end users.
  • Floqast Autorec feature is helpful for simple accounts but may prove to be problematic for large or complex accounts because of its reliance on its proprietary matching algorithms. More options and control over the reconciliation rulesets may help to alleviate this issue.
  • Floqast does not have a journal entry workflow which means that Floqast can not function as a one stop shop for the close. You will need to operate within your ERP.
  • It will be nice to have the ability to tap into other data sources like our banks or our data warehouse.
Floqast is perfect for an organization looking to move away from an Excel or Google Sheets based close management process. It is structured in a manner that makes the transition for such an organization simple and easy. In addition, there are features available that will allow an organization to grow with the platform.
Where I see limitations with Floqast is with complex organizations with 20+ entities to manage across multiple teams. In these cases, automation to help with the close(either in journal entry generation or account reconciliation) is required for scale and Floqast does not have a lot of features that help teams with this.

We use FQ for 5 of our companies. It's a lifesaver on time! Our biggest problem was too many balance sheet accounts that had thousands of lines and we needed a better solution. The #autorec alone has saved us so much time AND eyestrain. We are glad to have the reconciliation basically done in FQ, instead of filtering through 70,000 lines ourselves.
  • The autorec is amazing.
  • I like that I can assign tasks and have others check it over.
  • Year end is a breeze now.
  • Limits on autorec accounts.
  • Customize the autorec's more
FQ would be good for any size company but the larger the better to cover costs. Every business has a different need. Mine was to see clearly what accounts need my attention, without doing all the work, and time saving.

I use it for reconciling our balance sheet accounts. WE also use the form in order to keep track of our month task.
  • letting us know when this have become off balance
  • Keeping Track of our to do list
  • that transaction that change the reconciliation
  • To notify of new comments
This was the first company that has Floqast and I have enjoyed it.
It is very suitable for tracking purposes and keeping the team aligned with timing and approvals for the month end close.

It is not perfect because we cannot dive into what makes an account out of balance after it is already approved. Also, it doesn't have analytics tied with it.

Currently use FloQast to manage account reconciliations for multiple entities (preparer / reviewer) and month over month variance analysis.
  • GL Integration

  • Variance analysis only shows 2 months. Really would like to see a trend of at least 3 months
  • Wish in refreshing the variance analysis you can refresh multiple companies / reports at once.

FloQast allows our remote team across multiple organizations to effectively manage the close process. The dashboard is most helpful for me managing multiple closes, and the Notes feature allows me the ability to see my comments across all of our portfolio companies. FloQast saves us days in our process by keeping us organized and syncing with our ERP seamlessly
  • Financial close management
  • Seamless integrations
  • Consistently impactful product development/enhancement
  • We've struggled to use the flux analysis, but that has more to do with our ERP
FloQast gets exponentially more useful the larger the organization is, so it's well suited for those in growth mode. I think it might be overkill for a small mom and pop company with a team of just a couple people, but other than that there's not any scenario I can think of that FloQast would not be helpful

We use Floqast to manage our month-end close process across all consolidated entities, including managing and tracking progress against the close checklist and completing all account reconciliations. Prior to Floqast, we lacked visibility into the status of key processes, but now we can track against deadlines and dependencies across multiple locations and teams.
  • Ease of implementation
  • Simplifies management of teams during close
  • Easy to use interface for monitoring tasks and reconciliations
  • Not able to handle all disaggregations available in ERP
  • Could improve on ability to delegate tasks
We were looking to implement an automated way to manage the close without overhauling our underlying Excel based processes and Floqast was the perfect fit. It was easy to implement and we have had few problems in our four years of use. It has grown with our business as we have become more complex and I do not foresee outgrowing it.

FloQast helps me stay organized and prioritize my tasks during the month. It reminds me when items are due or late. I like that it keeps files related to the close process in organized folders. This helps us when we have audits. FloQast notifies you when reconciliations are off balance in case someone makes changes after you have closed the period. It gives the user an accurate and timely view of the reconciliations. It's very user friendly and information is updated quickly every time you refresh. I highly recommend it.
  • Reminds you of tasks that are coming up due
  • Refreshes quickly
  • It's easy to use
  • Sometimes it doesn't refresh and I have to come back to it later in the day

We use FloQast to manage our month-end close as well as other monthly cycles like Payroll and Revenue. We also use FloQast to manage quarterly cycles like Sales Tax/VAT reporting and annual cycles including preparation for our annual audits.

The platform allows us to centralise our tasks from right across the finance team and gives us control and visibility over progress.
  • Repetitive cycles and processes
  • Task management
  • Visibility and progress tracking
  • Sign-offs and reviews
  • Switching between types of cycle/process could be better
FloQast is an excellent tool for managing your Finance Function. It is particularly strong when it comes to repetitive processes and cycles but I expect the new Projects functionality to expand to cover non-repeating projects and things with different timescales.

One of best things about FloQast is how it handles reconciliations - integrating with our ERP and reading reconciliation data from Excel is a huge benefit in efficiency and control.

We primarily use Floqast as our financial close tool. This tool provides much needed visibility and aligns expectations as to who is performing which tasks and the date they are expected to be completed. This also allows management to easily check on the progress of the close without checking with each individual. Lastly, it ensures the balance sheet reconciliations tie to the final balance due to the sync with our ERP system.
  • Easily syncs with ERP system to ensure updated balances are reflected
  • Alerts team members when their reconciliation no longer ties to the balance sheet
  • Provides a centralized place for review notes and responses
  • The cost is per user so as you grow this software can become quite expensive
I can't think of a better financial close tool than Floqast. They also have quite a bit more functionality which we have not used yet, such as Flux and Remind. As I have not yet used these features unfortunately I cannot speak to those specifically.

My company uses FloQast primarily for month-end close. Prior to FloQast my close checklist consisted of an excel spreadsheet with haphazard notes, and it was difficult to keep track of what tasks I already completed and which items were still open. Additionally, there wasn't an easy way to see if account balances had changed post reconciliation, and all of my reconciliation reporting was very scattered. Enter FloQast. FloQast's dashboard shows you your progress for close, down to which items are late or on-time, what's still left to do, etc. All of my close GL accounts are in one place, I can easily see if an account balance has changed, I can see what tasks need to be done by a certain date, and on top of that it's incredibly user friendly. The approval feature is excellent as well, as you can add multiple approvers to review the work that's been done before locking the account. The aesthetic of the site is visually pleasing as well, which is a plus. It's massively changed how we do close tasks and I honestly can't imagine pulling out my Excel spreadsheets and going back to my old methods.
  • Allows the user to stay organized, consolidating all tasks into one place
  • Allows the user to see quickly and obviously if an account balance has changed since it's been reconciled, which is great if there are multiple QB users
  • Allows the user to set deadlines for weekly and close tasks so you always know when an item is due
  • Gives you a snapshot of your close and/or weekly progress in the dashboard so you know exactly what needs to be tackled
  • I would love to see a more customizable dashboard, where users could change the color themes and make it a bit more tailored to them
  • When uploading a new trial balance, it can take a few "refresh" clicks before the new balances are uploaded - this is a very minor thing, but that could be a bit faster
  • I believe the minimum user amount is currently six users - it would be really cool to see a small business version of FloQast for a lower rate so smaller companies could still access these features
I feel that any company that wants clean accounting would absolutely benefit from using FloQast. Our company uses it with all of our clients, across a broad range of industries, and it is universally applicable. Recently we onboarded a new client whose books were several months behind, with a ton of items missing and hardly any reconciliation or close work done. FloQast was absolutely integral to us getting their books caught up, organized, and all of the close items in one place. Once the catch-up work was done, the following months' closes were so much smoother and more organized, and we were able to stick to our close deadlines consistently, all because of FloQast. Additionally, when I first started working for my company, one of the first things I was able to do was put all of my weekly task items into FloQast in the non-close section. It was very helpful to be able to check off my tasks each week, and allowed me to feel confident that there weren't items I was missing or forgetting to complete.
