OpsGenie is an IT monitoring and incident response platform for development and operations teams, providing alerts and schedule management escalations. OpsGenie is now part of Atlassian since the late 2018 acquisition.
xMatters is an IT alert management solution for enterprises. It is cloud-based incident management software that enables business processes or applications to trigger two-way communications (text, voice, email, SMS, etc.) during time-sensitive events.
We use Freshstatus to maintain a status page for our website availability and to keep users updated on service outages. We use it to keep track of scheduled maintenance and maintain a single resource to share with customers when there is an issue with any of our background services and infrastructure.
Freshstatus is good for creating a simple status page that you have to update manually. It's not a good fit for automatic monitoring because it doesn't integrate well with other services. We have to manually update the status when any of our infrastructure is degraded or becomes inaccessible to end users.
We evaluated a few different options for creating a public status page, the main other one being Statuspage from Atlassian. We ended up choosing Freshstatus because it meets most of our needs and is a free offering. We also use other Freshworks products and thought that they would all integrate together.
This platform provided us with methods to displays our system uptime to our entire base as well as allow our clients to subscribe to the status page where we can decide if we want to notify everyone when there is a change to our system uptime. Super customizable and easy to implement
If you are a software company using various cloud services to ensure the functioning of your application and if you need to communicate any changes that affect these services and hence customer experience, then this is a great product to use
