Frontline Professional Growth is used in our school district to keep track of all parts of the teacher evaluation program including observations, SGOs, documentation logs, Professional Development Plans, and Professional Development Workshops. All aspects of a teacher/educational specialist's summative evaluation are documented in Frontline Professional Growth.
  • Frontline Professional Growth is set up to organize and document all aspects of a teacher's evaluation. Artifacts are archived and can be used in multiple areas.
  • SGOs, observations, PDPs, and documentation logs can all be shared between the staff member and the administration.
  • The forms are easy to fill out, can be saved as drafts in progress, and can be referred to from year to year.
  • The Professional Development Workshop section offers a calendar of workshops in catalog format as well as calendar format.
  • As a workshop presenter, enrollment tools are easy to use and offer multiple ways to access your roster.
  • As a workshop participant, workshops are listed as in progress and completed. Hours are tabulated and saved each year.
  • Frontline Professional Growth can be a little cumbersome as there are many tabs and multiple choices under each tab. It is not always easy to find exactly what you are looking for on the first try. There are often multiple steps to one location.
Frontline Professional Growth allows a teacher/educational specialist to organize and keep track of all the parts of their yearly evaluation (observations, SGOs, documentation log, Professional Development Plan), and Professional Development Workshops. Our district has been able to adjust the use of Frontline Professional Growth to fit our Professional Development goals as well as our evaluation systems. Frontline Professional Growth also has a Forms section so we have all of our request forms in a paperless environment. Overall, the system does a good job of helping the teacher and supervisor/administration manage the evaluation and professional development requirements for our State.

  • For our district, Frontline Professional Growth has definitely helped to organize all the State requirements for teacher/educational specialists' evaluations and professional development.
  • Frontline Professional Growth allows staff and administration to work to complete the evaluations an professional development in a streamlined way.
Overall, Frontline Professional Growth is a great product that allows teachers/educational specialists to organize and complete their State required evaluation and professional development plan. Although some of the menus and options are a bit cumbersome and navigating through Frontline Professional Growth can take several steps, the basic function of Frontline Professional Growth works really well for all parties in our district. We were even able to tailor Frontline Professional Growth to include online forms for field trips, professional development requests, tuition reimbursement, and other school requests.
Overall, Frontline Professional Growth manages observations, SGOs, documentation logs, and Professional Development Plans. In addition to these evaluation pieces, it allows our district to manage our Professional Development Workshops (in-house), Professional Development requests (for out-of-district), and many online request forms. The only real negative is that some of the menus are a bit cumbersome, and it takes several steps to get around the system.

In my school district, Frontline Professional Growth is used to manage employee compensation. You can search for in-service classes and request permission for professional development opportunities. We use this program to receive salary upgrades based on additional educational credits. Additionally, Frontline Professional Growth is where classroom observations and annual evaluations are posted for employees to review their performance and make comments if necessary. Frontline Professional Growth is used for professional growth and eliminates a lot of unnecessary paperwork by digitizing processes that previously required a lot of paperwork.

Frontline Professional Growth is well suited for managing instructional staff in a district. When the districts allow their employees to attend conferences, this program allows for an efficient approval process for obtaining a substitute and receiving reimbursements. This program helps staff monitor their salary in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.

Frontline Professional Growth was used to collect trainings and professional development credentials for staff. It was easy to use by staff members who were both tech savvy as well as novice users of tech. This is definitely a benefit to businesses and schools looking to meet a wide array of users.

I have used Frontline Professional Growth since it was formerly MyLearningPlan. The main reason we went to this program was to be able to better track our staff professional development hours as well as digitize frequently used forms so that we mitigated paper copies and running them to individuals for signatures. Since we use many of Frontline's other services, such as Absence Management and Oasis Evaluation, this was easy to integrate since it pulled the information we already had in the system. Tracking professional development hours of all staff members is no easy task and this has helped us do that. I am in this platform daily, awarding hours, approving workshops, adding professional development opportunities, and submitting forms.
  • Frontline includes a digital catalog, that you can use to enter all of your professional development workshops into, and track who is attending, print sign-in sheets, and tag professional hours.
  • The digital routing of forms was a main goal of ours. Not too many applications can create custom routing procedures, and go from person to person as designated in the configuration of the form.
  • The ability to take all of your commonly used forms and have they digital and available for teachers is useful.
  • Teachers can track how many hours they have earned throughout the year (and years) in their digital portfolio.
  • The configuration and startup of Frontline Professional Growth is time-consuming. I wish this was easier to get going.
  • Creating forms is difficult and the form editor is hard to navigate and use. You cannot create a form yourself. That has to be created and entered into your system by Frontline, which takes more time, especially if it is an easy form you want to create.
  • There needs to be a better way to save forms you are completing and being able to go right back to them at a later date. I have had teachers lose what they were doing when saving a draft and then have to start all over.
  • Notifications on forms at individual levels only go out once a day, sometime around 2am. This should be instantaneous, notifying individuals as the form comes in.
This is perfect for the district looking to convert older physical forms to digital copies, and mitigate the tracking of forms from desk to desk. Frontline will do it all digitally. Those in the approval process can approve or deny, or even ask for more information, which sends the form back to the user who submitted it. This is also good for those looking for a way to manage professional development in their district and all that comes with it, including tracking workshops, awarding hours, etc. Most districts use Frontline programs somewhere, so this is another piece to that. However, this is cost-heavy.

  • We have used a lot less paper over the past few years which leads to cost savings.
  • The time it takes to submit a form and get approval has sped up since this is all digital.
  • The time it takes to track and award professional development hours has sped up.
Frontline Professional Growth isn't an LMS. This is something more used on the back end to manage and track staff information regarding professional learning, workshops, and hours. This does a good job in a number of areas, but does have a learning curve and does take a good amount of time to get up and running. There are features that I wish were easier to use.
