GiveSmart

I think Givesmart does what it is meant to do, but it is not as intuitive as I would like it be. Although, I think we would have a hard time transferring away from using it after now feeling comfortable using it.

This decision is not up to me.

GiveSmart is a user friendly platform to use. While the level of service has decreased since the pandemic, we are hopeful that it will get better. We have used GiveSmart long enough that we are pretty self sufficient. We have started to utilize the platform for more events.

We JUST renewed our GiveSmart contract for another year.
We have been using this software since 2016, and it has made our events run more efficiently.
We are able to keep our auctions/raffles/donations organized, and the reporting functions are easy to use and implement.

Overall, I love GiveSmart. It has all the elements we need to run a robust annual campaign and a super-organized gala. My only issue at the current moment is that they seem to still be working out kinks from the merger with MobileCause. When I used it last year, it was just pre-merger so we used MobileCause for the annual campaign and GiveSmart for the auction. Now I'm finding it difficult sometimes to figure out which platform to use for what purpose, and to figure out how the two combine. There are some things that are clunky and unclear. But once the kinks are worked out, I'm sure my answer will go to 10.

This is our first half a year with giving smart, and it has been very easy to use and roll out. The bidder experience is seamless and requires very few volunteers to manage.

For the most part, we are very satisfied with GiveSmart. There are some additional functions we'd like to see it have and GiveSmart has been responsive in the past to add new features that nonprofits are looking for. Their support teams and account representatives are very friendly and helpful. The ease of their system allows a competent person to enter the data and create campaigns without having to have much technical knowledge.

For us, we have a very dissatisfying donor database solution right now, but we have built the hacks we need in order to manually integrate data we pull out of GiveSmart with the system. None of us are trying to reinvent that particular wheel, so for now, until the organization decides to upgrade the useless database we've been saddled with, we are satisfied to maintain our GiveSmart subscription. Might this change if we acquire a more sophisticated donor solution? Maybe. But we will also be looking for options that will integrate smoothly with GiveSmart. What we like about GiveSmart, we really like.

GiveSmart is great at what it does really well, namely event management. Yes, they need to address the inflexibility issues that make customization and some report features particularly frustrating, but for our organization the benefits are outweighing the drawbacks at this time. Their customer service is top-notch, and they have done an admirable job of creating an extensive Help section and responsive Support department that can assist with how-to's for various tasks within the system.
