GoGuardian for Middle School Educators
GoGuardian has been used during my entire time while employed in Prosper ISD (Prosper, TX) for the past 8 years. The software is used to monitor students' technology in class, create automated or directed instruction, and monitor students while they work to catch any issues that may have during learning and instruction on an assignment.

Great for real-time student management
All of the teachers use it to monitor our students during class. We used it for virtual and in-person learning this year, and we’ll continue using it in person moving forward. It’s so helpful to be able to track what students are doing during class time to make sure they’re following along.

GoGuardian Teacher - Take Control of Your Classroom
We use GoGuardian Teacher across our organization. It is used by teachers to manage student Chromebook sessions in classrooms. Through this software, teachers can not only see student activity but they can also make filtering decisions on the spot to allow or block websites. This allows teachers to guide their own students without contacting their IT department.
- Account setup is very easy.
- The software is extremely intuitive.
- Students sometimes do not show up in the software despite being logged on to a Chromebook.
- A Chromebook coming in and out of a sleep state can cause the user to not show up correctly.

- We have been able to identify inappropriate websites that students have discovered. For example anonymous proxies, movie streaming, etc. Through this software, we have been able to identify the students and in turn block the websites.
- We have been able to identify which students have been using other user's accounts. This was an unintended side effect of the software. If a teacher knows that a student is using a Chromebook but the student is not showing up in the software, we are easily able to deduce that the user must be using another student's account.
At the time we purchased GoGuardian there were no other alternatives that came even close to the functionality of this product. Over time I'm sure that some new products have been released. We, however, have not explored any other software suites for classroom management. We may in the future but for now, we are locked into GoGuardian Teacher.

GoGuardian Review
With 1:1 Chromebook implementation in an inner-city middle school, it was vital for us to have a program to monitor the usage by students. We are able to create boundaries for web browsing that allows our students to use online tools in a safe environment. Our students understand that we want them to freely use their device in school appropriate ways, but that we are able to monitor where they are and block inappropriate sites for our setting.

I have used Hapara in a previous school district. GoGuardian is more user-friendly and easier to setup. I do think GoGuardian has some room on improving the ease of finding some areas of the program, but once you know the path to get there it is quick.

Go Get GoGuardian Teacher
GoGuardian is being used at our institution to manage student Chromebook activity in the classroom. Teachers and administrators can monitor devices from their device. You can see if the students are doing the assigned task or on the proper sight, view open tabs, sends messages and even block students. Helps to keep students on task and accountable for their time with tech in the classroom.

Although for a different platform, GoGuardian Teacher is really simple for most users to get off the ground with minimal technical expertise. Now being in a Chromebook environment, it's essential for good classroom management when you have large classes. The interface is engaging and easy to understand. Mirrors or is built off Google so users are very comfortable to use.

Minimal skill is necessary to support users of GoGuardian Teacher. Generally, it has been around set up and scenes feature. If the support team can build our classes it makes users lives much easier. Takes about a week to become very comfortable with its use and to show others what they need to do most often.

One of my staff was having an issue with setting up a scene for her class while I was not available. They first tried to talk her through it. When the issue was not resolved, they remotely logged in and did it for her. She continues to use the product effectively today.
