I strongly recommend users who access business data while traveling or in other public spaces/wifi to use a VPN. Sometimes that means a VPN to their internal systems, which is fine, but as more services move to the cloud it's important that users are on a VPN for additional security. Especially on "open" wifi access at hotels/coffee shops, having a VPN is critical.
Golden Frog VyprVPN is a great tool, and I've used it on OS X and iOS so far. It's my #2 VPN of choice right now. The Chameleon feature, which allows you to get around some firewalls, works awesome, but is unfortunately only available on OS X right now, not iOS. They also only support IKEv2 (not OpenDNS) on iOS. That, combined with the Trusted Wifi networks which seemingly just doesn't work, causes it to be my #2 VPN of choice. However, I still keep it and subscribe, both as a backup and for the Chameleon feature, especially on my computer.
  • Chameleon proprietary protocol.
  • Good speed.
  • A decent user interface on OS X.
  • Not enough options on Mobile/iOS.
  • Their Trusted Wifi Access Points feature just doesn't seem to work.
This is a VPN for a technical user. It's not the easiest VPN to use and, while very secure, the quirks and issues it has will frustrate your standard users. It's a great backup and secondary VPN option for me as a technical user, but I think for the average user I would recommend something a bit more friendly.
For all you IT folks out there or more tech-savvy people, I would definitely recommend checking it out though!
  • A single leak of data or hack easily makes this worth it.
  • Its low cost makes ROI and justifiability easy.
Unfortunately, my primary and tertiary VPN choices aren't available in the TrustRadius List. Private Internet Access (PIA) is my top choice due to OpenVPN support on iOS, a simpler user interface, and trusted wifi networks just work. It also has some pretty technical and great VPN features to choose from, including ECC handshake options and some other options for serious security. IP Vanish is also a good choice for the average user. I've had too many quirky issues with VyprVPN to make it a primary recommendation for the average user.

For work, often I have to travel to countries that have restricted internet access. I tried out a few alternatives before settling on Vypr. It is an excellent VPN service that is well worth looking into. It's reliable and consistently gets me connected with stable access to websites that are normally blocked off in some parts of the world. It also works pretty well with the most common tools I use for work.
  • The speed you get is actually really good. I have connected it to multiple locations and very rarely had issues with slow speed.
  • There are multiple servers across different locations. So you always have a lot of choices.
  • Simple to use. The UI is really clean and easy to navigate. Works almost with a single click.
  • You also get access to the mobile version which works really nicely as well.
  • Good support. They were really helpful and responded quickly when I contacted them.
  • Pricing could be more competitive. There are similar alternatives you can get for cheaper.
  • Minor issues with some proxies.
If you need a reliable, fast VPN it is easy to recommend this. The user interface is simple, it's easy to set up and use, and the mobile version works really well also. They do not store any logs of your activity (according to their website at least) so if privacy is important to you, that is an important plus point.

If your requirements need you to have a single IP allocated to you, this might not work because as far as I know, you cannot get a fixed IP address for specific locations.
  • Improved my productivity because I could connect back into my productivity suites even in locations where access was fairly limited.
  • Improved security and privacy.
I tried a few alternatives (Cyberghost, Private Internet access etc) before settling on this. Of all the different options I looked into this one performed most reliably for me. It was also the fastest of the different options I tested. It was also backed up by good reviews online and solid support team.

It is a little pricier than some competitors but I feel I get good value out of it.
