My initial query discovered Google Cloud DNS and because we were familiar with and trusted that brand already, we didn’t even bother to evaluate the other option I’d found: Cloudflare DNS. When you are happy with a brand’s products, there is no need to waste time looking for other options.

At the time Google DNS was free for most features. We already use google for a variety of needs, so it integrated well. We tried a few other products, but they were expensive (for our needs) or cumbersome. Training was simple with Google DNS, for IT adjacent staff. Other products were mush more jargon heavy.

We selected Google cloud DNS maily for it friendly use, now we can acces the same IP server from differet computers and that has change pur work a lot. Now our costumer joourney is more agil. Also we are able to have our own private VPN and everything is more secure

Google Cloud is the easiest to use sharing platform available. Other platforms are not as accessible as accessing the Google drive when you are logged in with your Google account. Trello has a limited sharing capacity which I have not experienced with Google Drive. Our institution has afforded us unlimited space on the Google Cloud platform which was more of a struggle to obtain on Dropbox. Teams would select and use Dropbox voluntarily and have to arrange payments and claims. I also find that Dropbox sends a multitude of emails regarding storage and upgrades while Google Cloud is generally silent but highly effective as a storage tool.

We chose Google because it was so affordable and integrated obviously very easily with our other Google products we're already using like Google Analytics and Google Ad Manager. Using everything within Google simplifies our workflows and makes it easy to find receipts and manage things from a billing perspective as well.

Amazon Route 53 offers almost equal or slightly more features than Google Cloud DNS; we selected Google Cloud DNS because the rest of our projects use Google Cloud Platform.
Also, since AWS is a bigger service provider, their pricing is also higher; since Google Cloud DNS pricing is better, we went for it.

Google Cloud DNS is just as good as some other premium DNS services and definitely better than some (such as GoDaddy). I generally choose Google Cloud DNS when I am already using other Google Cloud tools for a project as it just makes sense. From one account I can manage the server, storage cluster, DNS, etc.
