I would look at other competitors such as Zoom and Microsoft. We found that people really don't like goto meeting as a conferencing solution. They would much rather use zoom or teams. They are easier to use and integrate better with the software that they already use. Additionally, goto's interface can be clunky and unintutitve.

We needed an integrated faxing solution when we migrated as our existing on-prem one was antiquated. We evaluated MiTel, Ring Central, and GoTo (Jive at the time). I would maybe break that faxing requirement out and look into singular cloud based faxing solutions, no longer making the faxing a requirement. That would have opened up more options at the time to us.

If looking for another meeting/talk/messaging software I would likely visit TrustRadius before making a decision. Hearing about firsthand experience of companies similar in size and function to our own would help in finding the best fit. I believe I would have had a better understanding of how GoTo Connect met the basics, but perhaps was better aligned with an older workforce than some of its more modern counterparts.

We initially chose GoTo Connect (which, at the time was called "Jive") simply because they got OK reviews, had good online documentation, and were a little bit less expensive than the competition. Really, I'm sure a number of other services would have done the job just as well, but we settled on Jive, and have been quite happy since making that selection. The selection was a bit difficult because so much of the competition offered the same products. The comparisons were apples-to-apples. We just picked the one with good documentation and good pricing.

Nothing to change. I used the following criteria when searching for a VoiP service and GoToConnect fit the bill.

1. Desktop app & soft phone compatibility
2. Ease of Use

We initially went with Vonage because they were more well known; reputation and name brand has a huge impact on the decision making power of people. I wish we would have done a pros and cons list for the different companies; we would have been able to see all of the additional features and trusted in GoToConnect from the start. I would have saved us a lot of time, effort, and money.
