What is GRIN?

GRIN is a creator management software platform that offers a creator search of over 38 million influencers that is not an opt-in influencer network. GRIN states they believe that the connection between brand and creator should not have a middle-man, and therefore we take no commission. GRIN creator management platform helps brands to connect directly with creator prospects and manage creator relationships to scale. The eCommerce integration aims to make product seeding, discount codes & affiliate links a breeze. GRIN provides a comprehensive reporting dashboard, a custom report builder and gives detailed analytics on the user's creator programs from the campaign level down to the individual creator level. DTC brands can use GRIN as a creator management platform to support rapid growth & scale.

GRIN deceived us

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my experience, GRIN used to be a great platform, with good customer service. Now they have no first-party data, no ability to deliver what's needed from an influencer platform. I wish they ended our contract when we asked them to, now it's just a waste of money on our end.

  • Syncing Influencer orders to shopify

Cons

  • The advertising of GRIN Up, which is their supposed replacement for creator search run by actual humans on the GRIN team - I think it is the worst possible feature where GRIN put its own team on manually finding influencers. In some cases they sent us "influencers" with no posts, some with no followers, it was like there had been no effort put into the process. If there are attachments, I will show the final output from the GRIN team here as well.
  • Beyond all of this, the way I believe they hid behind and misled us before the signing of our new contract was the most frustrating piece in the whole situation.
  • Instagram search and creator search was completely been taken off. These changes were not communicated to us before signing a new contract with GRIN. Our primary use case was discovering influencers, at this point I believe GRIN is a glorified order-placing application for customers that links to Shopify.

Return on Investment

  • In my experience, Negative, completely negative, and refuse to be cooperative. I wish there was a place to upload screenshots of the product we were delivered.

We use GRIN to manage all aspects of our influencer program; this includes tracking product stipends, revenue, and other KPI's related to influencer marketing. Additionally, the program captures UGC from our creators, which we can repurpose for marketing efforts.

We use GRIN to host and support our influencer marketing program as well as our ambassador program. It is used to manage recruitment, applications, payments, emails/contact, content management, order generation, discount codes, etc! GRIN takes a process that use to involve Shopify, a scary spreadsheet, Gmail, PayPal, and a lot of man-hours, and puts it into one beautiful software that takes us a fraction of the time to use!

Pros

Cons

  • Adding more integrations (I know this is in process though).

I use GRIN across all of my clients influencer campaigns. GRIN allows me to manage outreach, organize campaigns, ship product and submit payment in a timely manner. Regarding clients that have opted out of using GRIN, the process has been much less organized and has created numerous challenges throughout their influencer program.

Pros

  • Outreach: Creating sequences to send outreach monthly for each evergreen campaign.
  • Data & Analytics: Provide an in-depth overview of influencer analytics.
  • Payment: Easy payment process for influencer campaigns and commission payouts.

Cons

  • Would like the opportunity to trigger emails after the package has been delivered regarding content follow ups!
  • TikTok links show an error when being delivered on the influencers end.
  • Nothing else I can think of at this time!

Currently using Grin to run the influencer program for our e-commerce supplement brand. We are a gut health company that uses proprietary technology to increase the effectiveness of our products that help people on a cellular level.

Pros

  • customer service on all levels
  • streamlines resources (creator search, emails, Shopify orders, payments, etc) all on one platform
  • The amount of customization and overall tools - sometimes this feels overwhelming but I'm grateful they are there to build on as I grow my experience with the platform

Cons

  • When clicking on a creator's profile it opened a second browser window rather than taking you away from your current page.
  • An easier way to manage tasks - I find that things can slip through the cracks. When I've sent a whole bunch of emails for example it feels like they are just going into a black hole and I have to try and remember who to follow back up with etc
  • Scrolling through old email threads on a profile can be hard to see when looking at older emails with the way they are visually broken down. As I took over this program I had to spend a lot of time doing this to find out what the negotiations were with the past manager/influencer and it was really hard to read these emails

Return on Investment

  • Grin has allowed us to grow our influencer program by at least 3 times the amount by making overall management easy and time efficient.
  • Because of the data and content captured through grin, we are also able to use it as a resource to run a more successful whitelisting program
