HALO Recognition is being used across the whole organization. It addressed the immediate need for recognition on peer and leader levels. It has also addressed the need to have a one-stop recognition program that offered employees the opportunity to select their own individual awards.

UNHS is located in a rural area in southern Utah, and the nearest town in any one direction is 50-60 miles away. The gift card program with HALO addressed the need of our employees to order items from major stores and to have those items delivered to our facilities or to their homes. This saved employees from having to drive a great distance to use their cards.

We use HALO to provide anniversary gifts for all employees in 5-year increments. HR is in charge of sending the file to Halo, and it is used by employees across all departments within our organization. HALO helps solve a lot of the administrative burdens that can arise from implementing such a program on your own. Employees receive a variety of items to choose from. In addition, they receive a nice commemorative pin and an award certificate.

I always have a hard time giving a perfect 10 rating, but HALO is pretty close to that. If you are the type of employer who wants to focus on awarding employees for service anniversaries without wanting to spend a lot of time and administration, this would be a great program for you.

I have not personally utilized other companies. The only experience I have is in providing employees with a Rolex Watch at 10 years which were purchased by administrative assistants and then handled outside of HR to deal with the taxes. This was at a company where there were thousands of employees. Other companies where I have worked have just provided gift certificates. Working with HALO is really the first time I have utilized an outside company to manage a program like this.
