What is Dropbox Sign?

Dropbox Sign is a way to sign and request signatures securely online. Users can add legally valid signatures to any agreement from new-hire offer letters to loans to sales contracts to NDAs. Its user interface, admin controls, document tracking, and enterprise-grade security make it more secure than pen and paper methods and come default out-of-the-box.

How it works:

Prepare and Send
Upload documents that need signing to Dropbox Sign from cloud storage or a computer. Then, drag and drop the fields to sign. Finally, add the signer's email address and click send.

Sign
Signers are notified with a link to sign the document on their device. Once signed, completed agreements are immediately available to view in the user's Dropbox Sign account.

Manage
The Dropbox Sign dashboard tracks the progress of signature requests, automatically sends reminders to signers, and lets users view all signed documents. The branding can also be customized and access for team members is managed inside the account settings.

Dropbox Sign integrates with apps like Salesforce, Slack, Oracle, HubSpot CRM, and Microsoft Word so documents can be sent for signature directly from them. Dropbox Sign also integrates with cloud storage services like Dropbox, Google Drive, Evernote, Box, and OneDrive, so signed documents can be automatically saved found later at anytime in a preferred cloud storage accounts.

For deeper functionality, embed eSignature functionality directly into an app or website with the Dropbox Sign API. Features like embedded signing, custom branding, and embedded templates create an in-product signing experience. Dedicated API support team helps users to get a secure and reliable signature experience with faster implementation.

Dropbox Sign's intelligent forms guide users through documents without presenting unrelated questions or asking for repetitive information like “name” or “date”. Also, data from completed forms is automatically sent to third-party systems.

  • Easy for clients to use.
  • Easy signing flow.
  • Integrates with google drive.
  • Annoying that I have to pay for Sign and Fax separately.
  • Should have one account with Sign and Fax.

  • Very easy to duplicate a contract and use templates its so fast and great.

  • E signature for getting clients to sign who don't have scanners and find an excuse not to do it - no excuses now!
  • E signature for ensuring everything is properly signed and where to sign
  • E Signature for compliance and state stamping purposes - yet another great attribute
  • All of my product providers need to recognize this as E signing software - not quite there yet
  • It would be great if would specifically sync in with the product providers that accept this E signing format
  • The dating format would be better if it defaulted to Australian ways i.e. day/month/year

  • It is easy to send out contracts with Dropbox Sign
  • I like how professional it looks to my clients
  • It makes it easier for my clients to complete and return than the homegrown document I was previously using
  • The only thing I can think of is, when I send out multiple contracts at the same time, I can't tell which one is for which client (I send the documents to me first to fill in specifics on the package they are purchasing). Because of this, I've started sending one at a time, waiting for it to arrive in my inbox, completing it, then sending it off - before starting another contract.

Dropbox Sign Bravo!

  • Efficiency
  • Time Stamped
  • Easy user Interface
  • Clients think they have to sign to read the agreements. The button to view and/or download should be easier to find.
  • Customers of yours (us) should have a choice of whether a client can download or only view onscreen a contract before signing.

  • Reminders
  • Easy Templates
  • Cross functional signatures
  • Timely Updates
  • When working with an influencer who has an agent, the agent might want to review prior to the influencer reviewing and signing, so having a viewer but not a signer approve the doc before the other party gets it would be helpful.
  • sometimes logging in is difficult and the page doesn't always load.
  • Would like a phone number text box as an option instead of "fill in text box".

  • Auto detects PDF fields.
  • Is very easy to use and auto fills emails as you type them.
  • Doesn't recognize signature fields in PDFs.
  • Signing links don't support multiple signers.
  • Doesn't work well with word docs.

  • It's easy to use
  • I prefer the way that Jotform has its forms set up. I use them for photo/video releases for interviewees. If Dropbox Sign were laid out a little more like Jotform, I might consider using Dropbox Sign instead.

  • Collect Signatures.
  • Allow for multiple Signatories.
  • Follow Ups and Reminders.
  • Easy to fill out documents people want me to as well by uploading them into my dropbox sign for my own fill in.
  • It would be nice to be able to build a template for just the location of the signature boxes that would allow me to upload a document, and the boxes could be basically replaced. I have the exact same doc for each of my clients, but there are small changes here and there, and I have to fill in their personal info through another program, so it would be nice to be able to do a template this way instead of just tying a template to one document.

  • Sign order.
  • Storage of executed documents.
  • Reminder emails.
  • I would like more documents allowed per month before going up a level.
  • If a document was not fully executed - I am not sure it should count.
  • The initial interface between Dropbox and Dropbox sign is still kind of wonky -- Why do I need to keep logging in?
