Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why
HireRight is not on the same level as One Source Background Checks. They provide more detailed reports and background check history. They are able to customize your background checks. They also integrate well with our ATS. One Source also holds background check data on file for 2 years. We also use them for an OSCC contractor certifier, which I don't think HireRight does.
I enjoy HireRight much more as I am able to have more customizable features in the application as well as run reports that allow me to have increased efficiency in the hire process and know where all employees are in the process at any point in time. We selected HireRight due to these features as well as the decreased licensing cost.
Because of the integration option, it is easy to setup compared to its alternative. The hiring process is very easy and it keeps the records of every employee safely. It provides scalability and flexibility so cost can be reduced and the number of customization options provided compared to other vendors helps a lot in the process.
We have not used any other products that HireRight. Our company tends to stay with the sources, software, and/or companies that works for us. Since HireRight has worked for us, we have not tried another source.
We were using HireRight from long time they have provided great service in terms of verification process. We want continue this relationship with HireRight on verification process.
My company wanted to change who did our background checks after the equifax hack, and this forced us to try a new vendor and HireRight was the first one we came across that we ultimately picked. Why we picked them initially was due to the automation, the cost, the customer service, and perks.
We used another background check company through Paychex. Both companies had the same features. We now use HireRight because it is incorporated with our ADP package.
We initially selected HireRight on a trial basis. Their pricing structure, their response time, and the quality of their reports convinced us to stay with them. I would highly recommend them.
First Advantage had me all over the screen trying to figure out how to maneuver around there website. I still haven't completely figured it out. While HireRight was easy to use and self explanatory. I've been using HireRight for so long now adjusting my eyes to any different format would probably be a wrecking ball waiting to happen.
We selected HireRight because it does what we need, usually in a timely manner for a fair price. We use other programs when it is required for a specific project and must be used.
They are the market leader and essentially there are only 2 other companies in the world that can meet out program requirements.

I have worked with over 20 background vendors, and believe HireRight is somewhere in the middle of the pack. My colleagues have had more hands-on experience with them lately, and have informed me things are getting better when it comes to verifications and customer service. Typically when a client comes to us, they already have HireRight as their vendor, however, we haven't felt the need to recommend a switch away yet.
The ease of the Tenstreet website is better, the one touch reports makes things so much simpler for us.
We have used 2 or 3 other background check companies and I like HireRight because they are the easiest to get in touch with someone when any help is needed. The website is user friendly and you can easily check what is pending, what is completed, etc., across users. They are also much faster than the previous companies we worked with.
We use Supervision for MVR checks. HireRight also will return information to confirm if it was a serious incident. This helps to make sure things match up.
We have utilized First Advantage in the past and the issues were with using a paper process, the HR team needing to input all of the potential new hire's information, and long delays in turn around times on applicant screens. With HireRight, they have removed these obstacles for both our customers and internal employees.
I do not want to name drop the vendor we used previously, but when we were evaluating new solutions, HireRight was the only option we seriously considered. A big part of our decision to go with HireRight was that it integrated nicely with our applicant tracking system, which was previously a huge pain point for us.
It was the only product we used.
