IBM Cloud Developer Tools and embedded CLI tool help to manage all the SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS services of the IBM cloud in an easy and fast way. Especially the part of the Infrastructure as a coding strategy is tightly attached to the corresponding developer tools like IBM Cloud Developer Tools and the attached CLI.
  • Infra As a code.
  • DevOps
  • Cloud Automation.
  • Security
  • Terraform Support.
  • Multi Cloud Management.
  • Development Agility.
Very well suited for hybrid cloud management with Kubernetes Orchestration from on-prem and also RedHat Openshift Kubernetes orchestration platform on IBM Cloud. Exceptionally well suited also having significant IBM Cloud Paks software such as API Management and Enterprise Kafka. Need to be improved for the multi-cloud strategy of the enterprises and also develops tools integration for some cases.

IBM Cloud Developer Tools allows our Cloud operations team to deploy, manage, and continously modify / development our applications seamlessly and quickly. We also began leveraging the IBM Cloud Developer Tools to help in managing our IBM Cloud accounts. The tools are very intuitive to use. Ramp up time on the tools was minimal for my team which means we were able to quickly put it to use.
  • Easy to use and deploy
  • Developers can make changes quickly
  • Developers can collaborate their changes effectively
  • Product documentation could be imrpoved
  • Sales material could be improved
  • Supported install platforms could be expanded
IBM Cloud Developer Tools has expanded my team's capabilities to develop our Cloud applications quickly, collaboratively, and effectively. The tools allow us to create and modify our web applications and quickly roll back changes as needed. The crucial key for us is that we can easily bring and use our own code and have it work with the tools as needed.

We chose IBM Cloud Continuous Delivery for continuous deployment of our apps. We were looking to save time and overhead with less downtime and automate our continuous delivery process. There were inconsistencies in our processes between teams and we wanted to standardize with a tool to manage everything as well with support.
  • Tool integration
  • Ease of use
  • Ability to copy templates
  • Set up time and integration took longer than expected
  • Documentation could be better
  • UI is sometimes not intuitive
For the price you'd want to have several teams using this, and if you have multiple applications to deploy. A bit pricey if you are a small team with only 1-2 apps compared to other solutions. Also nice that you can access the tool remotely from anywhere given our distibuted global teams. It has helped to have a couple of in house experts to act as support for our teams as well.

A consulting customer wanted to deploy an app we developed in IBM Cloud. I had to learn how to use IBM Cloud Developer Tools such as the IBM CLI to access cloud resources easily.

This allowed us to manage the customer's cloud environment and deploy the applications from the command line. This is the standard for cloud providers nowadays.
  • Work in multiple platforms
  • Standard user interface, similar to other cloud provider CLI tools
  • Allows access to manage all IBM Cloud resources.
  • Cloud Developer Tools was deprecated as an installer, so product stability would be good.
  • Keep up with other providers such as AWS
I would recommend IBM Cloud CLI which replaces IBM Cloud Developer Tools. If you need to build applications and services on the IBM Cloud, this is the first and most important step so you are able to manage resources from the command line, which is my preferred way of doing day to day operations on a cloud provider.

I use [the] IBM Cloud Developer tool to build AI chatbots which helps companies and users in various ways like FAQs answering, required information gathering from datasets, and documentation.
  • Voice chatbot
  • Discovery
  • App integration
  • Speech recognition in speech to text
  • Cloud pak for data
It is well suited to develop mobile-based and web-based applications integrated with chatbot or AI assistants.

This [IBM Cloud Developer Tools] is being used in many of the departments of the organization for development, deployment, and delivery. This is being used for handling the continuous integration, as a tool meant for easy deployment of the apps on that of [the] cloud. Helps to support useful tools and also provides space for data storage. It also addresses the Monitoring and controlling billability of the resources.
  • It contains the deployment templates which are much more time saving and is of great use.
  • This has the integration of the Cloud applications which makes the work much more convenient.
  • This is flexible when it comes to development, deployment, and delivery.
  • [It] also has a much more reasonable pricing.
  • Provides space for the data storage.
  • [IBM Cloud Developer Tools] also can support many useful tools.
  • For more of an information [tool], the knowledge base could be enhanced.
  • Cloud application navigation and interface is to be improved for easy [...]
  • The setup consumes much more time.
  • This has a high price and has downtime which makes it inconvenient for the user to use.
This [IBM Cloud Developer Tools] gives a proper integration with many of the tools. It is also being used for easy setup, stability as well as flexibility, and reuse of templates. This is an integrated platform for ease of access. The setup is being very easy in terms and it also has deployment templates which can help and easily integrate with that of the IBM cloud-based applications, and more of the details for any of the logs would be given for deployment build is failing. It is inappropriate when it comes to debugging the errors at that of the deployment times.

IBM Cloud Developer Tools is being used in our organization and is very helpful in making the deployment of applications quite continuous. It made it possible for us to generate, run and deploy applications quickly. Its integration is quite simple along with its support team that is highly professional people with good manners. It has helped our developers with application building.
  • Its deployment templates are time savers and are very useful for us.
  • Its integration with Cloud applications is its strength as it helped in making our work easy.
  • It offers much flexibility.
  • It is amazing in development, deployment, and delivery.
  • Its price is quite high and this made it unsuitable for us as we cannot afford such high rates.
  • Its Setup takes much longer time and this is frustrating.
  • Its interface needs to be improved and easy even for the Newbies.
It is a tool that I can recommend to anyone with the same field and I know they won't get disappointed with it because firstly it provides remote access and one can deploy swiftly from any location. It is suitable for large firms with massive services. It is not recommended to someone looking for cheap software of this kind as it is an extremely expensive tool. Moreover, its setup takes much longer time and this is infuriating.

IBM Cloud Developer Tools are used within our organization to speed up and automate parts of our server deployment process. We use the command-line interface tools to quickly and scalably deploy or remove servers, view server statuses using simple to read and edit configuration files. It helps a lot when we need to do things repeatedly (say, deploy X amount of server Y) because we don't have to bother with IBM's interface.
  • The commands are logical and easy to learn
  • The configuration files it expects are easy to use
  • Regular updates include frequently asked features
  • It is hard to find the thing you are looking for in the official documentation
  • Sometimes the requests we make to IBM's API timeout for no apparent reason
  • The errors returned by the commands are sometimes hard to understand
If you are already working in IBM's Cloud deployment services, it is at least worth it to check it out. It is free to use, and can help you automate much of the deployment process. While I would typically recommend it if you are working with 10+ servers, it can be used by anyone if you expect you need to repeat the deployment process in the future

In our company, we use it as a suite of cloud computing services, which offers both platform & infrastructure services. It is being used by limited users in the organization. As the IBM Cloud Developer Tools offers Better engagement, Speed, insights, etc.
  • Integrated Platform for ease access
  • Can re use the Templates
  • Stability & Flexibility
  • Easy Setup
  • Storage Volume can be increased (Not a major one, but can be)
  • Billing & Pricing could be better (For Beginners)
  • User Interface is confusing sometimes (For me personally)
  • Build Fails without any reason, not sure why
  • Not a functionality, But need to increase customer support
This tool is good enough to recommend, because it is accessible in remote locations, and anyone can deploy from anywhere. Initial setups are easy and can be set-up quickly

Our organization currently uses IBM Cloud Continuous Delivery for deploying the company's web applications. Basically this is taking the application's code, compile it and put it online in the web so all users can access it.
This process requires connecting to the code repository using a token, and executing some shell scripts to execute some tasks that include compiling each app, and assigning the domains where it will be finally deployed.
  • Easy to use
  • Deploy templates provided
  • Known and documented command line cli (Cloud Foundry)
  • Not reliable for mission critical software
  • Very hard to debug deploying problems
  • Terrible support timing
It's hard to believe that a huge company as IBM would provide a service that's only reliable for non mission critical applications, but that's the truth. IBM has shown no idea on how to hold and manage it's Cloud Foundry version. Result of this, when it fails, it fails terribly, more than 6 hours of downtime due to IBM Cloud problems, more than 1 complete day failing to update our applications due to Continuous Delivery problems, and support didn't know when the problem was solved or what the cause was.
I would only recommend IBM Cloud Continuous Delivery for non mission critical applications or simple proof of concepts. Continuous delivery doesn't seem to be IBM's strength, but only a must have because all "the big ones" have it.

CD is used to implement CI/CD pipelines to continuously deploy applications we are developing, for us or for our clients.
We have around 15 developers using it daily for several applications.
  • Simple to use.
  • Ability to package our own tools.
  • Integrate to a variety of tools.
  • Much too expensive.
I would recommend this tool only for large companies with a huge usage of the service.
The pricing model based on users is nonsense in a cloud world where services are priced on usage.
It kills the interest of the product.
I recommend users to build a TCO comparison with alternatives. Competitors may be less expensive in many situations.

At my company, we use the IBM Cloud Continuous Delivery service to validate in a development setting the changes my co-workers and I make every day. It helps us to automate the testings and code readability in the delivery pipeline, that way we can keep with code guidelines to keep Ithe maintainability.
  • The setup is really easy and intuitive.
  • Integrates easily with other IBM Cloud services.
  • The initial log of errors is helpful.
  • When a build fails, the only way to gather detailed information about the error is through the terminal.
  • Sometimes it has failed without a clear reason. However, this doesn't happen frequently and after a couple of minutes, the problem is usually fixed.
  • Sometimes you might want more personalization of the delivery pipeline, and in that case, it becomes a lot less intuitive.
IBM Cloud Continuous Delivery is well suited for almost any project, especially if you are already using others IBM Cloud services. Almost anybody without any previous experience with the interface can create and setup their initial service. However, if you project demands a more elaborated delivery pipeline, it can require more in depth learning of the service.
