  • We use this server regularly when we need some high volume applications and saves us nearly 80% every year in terms we of Hardware & Software upgrades
  • Since we can scale down after the peak usage, we save around 75% of VPC charges also as we resort to a monthly billing
  • Since we can provision a server almost instantly from the dashboard itself, we have full control of all aspects

  • The speed is very quick as it reduces down time and improves efficiency The set up time when an issue was being addressed was minimal.
  • There is also the added benefit of continuing to work while the virtual machine and server is correcting the determined issue.
  • We have found that maintaining the corrective action on the virtual server allows other users with similar issues address this quickly, and efficiently. Productivity is able to continue.

  • It has kept our small business going over 20 years at a reasonable cost. And allowed us to add more CPU power as we grew. So we weren't too concerned about having to change to a different platform or vendor as our list of libraries grew.

  • As far as ROI goes, I think it's been a great investment. Our deployments are smoother and our clients are happy with their websites' functionality.
  • As I mentioned before, getting in touch with Support can be a headache and so if you have angry clientele like we do, waiting on Support to get back to you (while you wait as the unfortunate middle man) can be frustrating.
  • Pay-as-you-use by the hour is useful for keeping costs low.

  • Hosting is very well priced right now so my return was positive
  • Setting up multiple servers if needed does not cost a fortune like it did in previous years
  • The ability to copy an image of a server and redeploy at any time on a hourly virtual server is very convenient, useful, and cost effective

  • The biggest positive impact that IBM Cloud Virtual Servers has had on our business is cost savings. We no longer have to invest in expensive hardware, and we only pay for the resources we use. This has allowed us to redirect our resources to other areas of the business.
  • The biggest negative impact of IBM Cloud Virtual Servers has been the loss of control. We don't have the same level of customization and control over our server environment as we did with our traditional on-prem server rack.
  • A massive positive is the immense scalability that it offers compared to our previous on-prem server rack.

  • Negative impact, had to redesign our technical architecture.
  • A significant amount of time and effort consumed from company resources.
  • Delayed an implementation plan.
  • The company will not use IBM Cloud Virtual Servers.
  • Our perspective is that IBM Cloud Virtual Servers are technically more challenging to master in comparison to competitor offerings.

  • IBM Cloud Virtual Servers has allowed us to reduce our costs of training and development by 100%. We no longer need hardware that is specific to the development environment. This means we can act more quickly on new business initiatives since they are not hampered by the availability of hardware, downtime, or maintenance windows. The time savings stemming from this alone makes the investment pay for itself.
