It makes putting together those detailed, fancy reports pretty straightforward and flexible. We can tailor them just how we need, which is a big win. But, it's not all smooth sailing, especially for folks in our team who aren't super techy. Getting the hang of some of the cooler, deeper features can take a minute. So, yeah, it's awesome, but a tad friendlier approach for everyone would make it even better.

This tool helps in customizing and scheduling reports according to our requirements. We also use mobile apps to customize and schedule, and they do perfectly, too. The only challenge we face is data integration from third-party APIs, for which the tool doesn't help as desired. If they work on this, that could be great for the companies.

As it includes automating report generation such as scheduled report delivery which reduces manual effort, and make sure that stakeholders receive relevant information on time. It allows user to customize reports based on their requirements, and preferences. It supports variety of formats for reporting such as dynamic data visualization, traditional paginated reports. Reporting capabilities including multi-page report development are impressive on this platform.
Even for paginated reports or more rows per page of the same report, it works seamlessly, thanks to its quick resource allocation capabilities from the host system.
However, things can turn around nasty if the underlying infrastructure is of standard specifications. One has to be careful in choosing the capable infra for this reporting and analytics solution.

The reporting tools and functions on this platform are great. I like that reports can be easily downloaded, saved, and formatted and presented in other platforms. I gave this rating because the reporting capabilities that I have seen are second to none. The data visualizations used since moving to IBM Cognos Analytics have made the data much clearer for decision makers and allowed them to make much more informed decisions. If Management needs a certain element added to the reporting, it is a very quick fix and does not require multiple iterations of rework to get the appropriate information together.

The reports are created in different formats for each project; there are PDF formats and also Excel files that can be imported and exported to different external sources without problems and automated and classified in each central control panel of each tool; this helps reduce the time of manual analysis of reports and to have a better visualization.

Excel is the most used tool for reading data because it is a well-known product by all the staff and because a large part of the financial documents is handled with Excel. I particularly like to classify reports into more than one format so that they can be opened on different devices without having to have additional file readers.

There are so many capabilities in reporting that there is no practical limit to what you can do. The one key problem is that there are so few people producing content that demonstrates these capabilities and creative approaches online. You can always find a video demonstrating a concept, approach or solution with Power BI, but it is very difficult to find anything that helps like this with Cognos.

We have some reports that are 1000 queries and 50+ pages. Using report views, we are able to build one and use for our 500+ employer groups, providing them valuable information to drive their own business decisions. These reports are branded and contain many custom icons which CA does beautifully.
