Like after the updates I am able to pull a report with a different parameter and it's been beneficial to get extracted specific data. And with the data analytics tables, it's been beneficial to present the data. And the one drawback I have seen when the full report is run in the background version it fails sometimes.

IBM Cognos Analytics is a good way to streamline the deployment of your AI models. I would recommend taking up the Cognos analytics training and certification for you to be able to navigate the studio well. It covers all aspects comprehensively and you'll be better off if you are already knowledgeable in PostgreSQL.

The integration between Cognos Analytics, Planning Analytics, SPSS, and decision optimization makes it a perfect tool that can grow and expand as the organisations analytics needs do. Not many visualization tools offer this degree of integration. The integration with Planning Analytics allow it to be fully integrated with a budgeting and forecasting application and present this information in real-time using compelling dashboards and visualizations

This platform helps meet our needs, allows us to create and share interactive data visualizations around the world through global data centers. You can connect it to Excel for queries, data models, and reports to collect, analyze, publish, and share Excel data.

For beginner users making very complex reports are hard and time-consuming. But with the help and training of a good consultant, the results can be awesome. On the other hand, dashboards are easy to create also for beginners. The dashboard is more of drag n drop and doesn't need in-depth knowledge. AI assistant helps a lot because it will automatically recognize straight from data what is the best visualization for that.

IBM is a reporting tool that focuses on data analysis. It is the most robust digital BI platform that I have used for years, with IBM I can get detailed information through a variety of reports/dashboards. I can send my colleagues by email reports in PDF or XML format, it also allows easy integration with third-party tools for more fluid communication.

IBM Cognos Analytics with Watson is especially good with any type of pixel-perfect reporting. While it's most commonly used for financial reports, I've used it for building models for plenty of other purposes. The one that sticks out was a road safety organization that used IBM Cognos Analytics with Watson to research road accidents. The ETL process merged data from police, hospitals, insurance companies, high management, and several other sources. The combination of canned reporting and ad-hoc querying tools allowed researchers to find insights and possible causes of accidents that weren't previously considered. On the flip side, IBM Cognos Analytics with Watson is often used for things it's not really perfectly suited for. Data entry is a big one. You can write back to a database through it, but it's always a bit hacky. In the latest version, Query Studio is being deprecated. The dashboarding tool is significantly more complex. Sometimes you just want a quick and dirty query, and QS was perfect for it. Finally, there is a learning curve. You absolutely must learn how to use the tool, or you will have a miserable time. Once you get past that curve, you'll find it powerful and capable of meeting almost any need (even the hacky write-back requirements that people love to throw at me).

It is a software with many solutions, functions, and integrations that help any professional, including Software Engineers, to analyze data using artificial intelligence for the preparation of reports and more data in a completely different, but highly effective way.

If you require pixel-perfect reports and you have to share these reports with users in an enterprise. Then it is the best BI tool for you. Other competitors are missing many features that are needed for enterprise users. The ability to use data sources with no relation inside a report is a GOD send. You will not find this anywhere.

It is best suited in an organization that has a vast amount of information. Whether it be a lot of different products or a lot of different customers. Also, important that reporting is currently manual and needs better improvement in the overall process of getting things done to executive management.

Cognos is well suited for organisations that have a large user base and/or a significant number of reports. With it's web based design all the reports can be stored in a central location, allowing for a single version of the truth and secured as required. Another key feature is its advanced scheduling ability.

The license costs would rule out Cognos for smaller companies.

I would recommend the product, IBM Cognos Analytics, to my business analyst colleague. For their work scope, the analytical tools that they need are mostly defined in the toolbox and this tool requires no coding background to make nice data visualization but I would not recommend it to data scientists due to lack of flexibility.

IBM Cognos Analytics is categorized as business intelligence software and also subclassified as an Embedded Business Intelligence and Self-Service Business Intelligence software. IBM Cognos Analytics can be accessed through the web by using an extension, and it can also be used by connected devices. IBM Cognos Analytics is a cloud-based software solution, which makes your data easily accessible anytime and anywhere. Also, Cognos offers local data server support where you can build your own private server to store data.

IBM Cognos Analytics works best when a user is very comfortable with SQL databases and queries. It doesn't require you to know how to code SQL but it is very helpful to know the concepts well. If you aren't familiar with SQL, Cognos is harder.

Well suited for handling not-so-large datasets. It is very fast and responsive. It is user-friendly, a new user can quickly adapt to its features. It is less appropriate to use while [using] large volumes of data. Forecast functions could be improved. It would be appreciated if it could handle datasets having many parameters.

I have used various reporting and analytics tool like SSRS, SAP
[IBM Cognos Analytics] is good among these, can able to connect all the data sources without issue like ODBC, JDBC.
I don't think it is less appropriate. it is highly recommended to use from my [perspective].

IBM Cognos Analytics is very useful in companies that have data silos, when every department has its own data source. IBM Cognos Analytics unifies all the information coming from different sources and provides trusted information to the users.

I would not recommend it to small companies because the costs of implementation and annual licenses can be hard to bear.

IBM Cognos Analytics can be used for Tactical and Strategical purposes. You can produce Reports and Dashboards. You can also group executions of several reports into a single Job and create an Event to launch it when the ETL jobs finish to load the target tables.
You can also add External files likes Excel Files then create a datamodule to join it with source Package or another Data Module.

IBM Cognos Analytics does not allow the possibility to correct some errors values in the data.
