Maximo is a good solution for large organizations, in my opinion. It is scalable, and the more you can integrate with other systems and modules, the better and more efficient it becomes. It is a very versatile system. It has literally hundreds of out-of-the-box reports and dashboards that you can use and mix and match for your own needs. It is also easy to set up new reports and dashboards. I have seen a lot of time and money saved in my organization because of Maximo.
  • Highly customizable with in-depth configurations
  • Asset analysis
  • AI-Remote powered asset monitoring
  • Comprehensive asset management
  • Maintenance scheduling
  • Ticket response speed
  • The UI needs some improvements
  • The pricing could be reduced
  • The reporting tool could be better with more options
I have been an IBM Maximo user for over six years. At the time of this review, I am a junior analyst. I have been using it to manage our properties and equipment. My team is using it to keep track of our material inventory and to do work orders. We also use it to do predictive maintenance and to monitor our assets. My favorite thing about it is its speed and flexibility. I can quickly enter data and get a fast report. I can also export the data to Excel for deeper analysis. I have used it on a variety of different platforms, including PC, Mac, and Android.

It is, in my opinion, a tool for swiftly determining what to do with your workspace. I adore how simple it is to run an office in a matter of hours or minutes. You may manage and organize your chores using this helper, as well as automate manual operations. I can't see my business operating without IBM Maximo!
  • I like how the inventory module can be customized and how much data can be added to it.
  • It is a strong tool for me that does data analysis and makes it simple to manage my PM and CM scope.
  • For us, IBM Maximo is the ideal inventory management application.
  • The asset management solution IBM Maximo is adequate, although it lacks some management features.
  • I had some trouble at first comprehending and using this tool.
  • It's a little expensive.
With IBM Maximo, it's easy to maintain accurate asset tracking as well as monitor and manage the whole lifespan of our organization's assets. I can simply and swiftly track and handle work orders thanks to this tool. I can readily view asset conditions and have control over them, thanks to IBM Maximo. This application offers an easy-to-use, straightforward user interface.

It's simply the best! User Friendly, Highly Configurable, Maximo Mobile, Feature-rich in terms of Enterprise Asset Management, and Integration Capabilities. You can keep track of a lot of things in one place. Perfect for maintenance management. We've tracked everything from people, work orders, timecards, tickets and so much more.

We presently have Maximo installed in different instances in the US and Canada. It is the solution of choice for enterprise asset management services. We are currently working with IBM experts to rationalize the use of Maximo's available applications/functionality.
  • We like Maximo because it is highly configurable. We have faced challenges in the past where a lot of customizations have been done. This has resulted in a lot of pain when going for upgrades.
  • The recent development in the Asset Performance management area and having the capability to analyze the data has got us really excited and we are looking forward to more advanced capabilities in Maximo 7.6.
  • We have also enjoyed the capabilities it has provided in the operator log and managing our asset master data.
  • Maximo has been a good tool when it comes to managing assets but we miss some of the case management capabilities that some of the tools, such as Predix, have to provide. It may not be the key functionality today, but as we are maturing as an organization I think we will need capabilities where we can start designing predictive models.
  • Maximo is still not a product of choice for asset strategy development. We absolutely want to have Maximo do our Meridium functionality. However, today Maximo lacks that.
  • Maximo mobility has been exceptionally terrible. Because of the user interface it has, we lacked field mobility capability and now we are looking for Click as a potential software.
Maximo is a great versatile tool for a general enterprise asset management (EAM) solution - has great flexibility and many advanced solutions as well. It provides good integration with our ERP system as well. We use Oracle and it has been exceptionally good for us. The biggest challenge we face though is when it comes to more advanced digital transformation solutions. We wanted to test out predictive models on our critical assets- we have to try the APM solution from GE. Things like integration with IBM Watson to do case management or recommendation management are still not available in Maximo.

IBM Maximo is one of the essential tools for ticketing. This tool is used in a retail project of Warwick (UK). I have used so many ticketing tools so far like SysAid, Remedy, etc. but this tool is more essential than others. Ticket creation by this tool is very simple and it is its best feature. This is very user friendly and no additional training is required for the new user. We can route multiple tickets at the same time with this tool.
  • Ticket creation is very simple.
  • We can route multiple tickets at the same time.
  • Rarely, we receive late tickets.
  • Change approval process is little complicated.
To integrate it with Netcool, Control-M is its good feature.
User friendly. No additional training is required for new users. Easy to use. Ticket creation is very simple.

My organization relies heavily on IBM Maximo since it is its main product. My organization specializes in offering support and implementation of IBM Maximo to third parties interested in having a robust and capable asset management system. We have specialists in customizing, offering support and implementing applications, scripts, and databases for Maximo.
  • Extensive asset tracking and management. IBM Maximo is extremely capable of handling all sorts of assets so you can track every detail and part of the lifecycle of an asset inside an organization.
  • Highly customizable. If the broad array of possibilities inside IBM Maximo still isn't suited for your specific application, it is possible to customize it to a very high degree so it can fit the needs of your organization.
  • Preventive maintenance and services. With IBM Maximo, it is possible to schedule all sorts of preventive maintenance for your equipment, maximizing the uptime of your systems and machinery and minimizing unforeseen events.
  • Hard to implement. A high number of resources and manpower is necessary to implement and upgrade IBM Maximo due to its robustness and number of functionalities.
  • Version fragmentation. Due to the challenge imposed by a version upgrade, it is common to find systems relying on legacy versions of Maximo which might become a challenge for the support team.
  • Unfriendly UI. The excess of functionalities and services available might become a challenge for a starting user. Although it is possible to customize the UI to fit the exact needs of each user, it is important to map exactly what each user needs.
IBM Maximo is highly flexible, being able to suit the needs of most of the business that relies on any sort of asset to operate accordingly. Out of the box, Maximo is better suited for companies with large inventories in multiple sites looking for a centralized tracking solution for all of its assets. But, with the proper customization and implementation, it is able to suit small business looking for an efficient solution to track it's inventory as well.

We use Maximo for all our site maintenance and procurement. Our techs in the field use Maximo Anywhere for mobility.
  • Work order tracking with the ability to track logs of what was done and bill out parts and labor. Lets you track the true cost of an asset.
  • Set PMs for routine maintenance so you never have to reference a spreadsheet to know when a PM is due.
  • Inventory tracking to allow you to easily do counts and track inventory valuation.
  • It would be nice to have better item selection or picking process for filling storeroom reorders.
  • Better way to track licenses.
  • Better way to move or relocate item/assets within our warehouse.
Best of breed for work order tracking with item and labor billing along with procurement. Still needs work in order to use as a picking solution to fulfill storeroom reorders.

We went from server-based Maximo to the SaaS version. We experienced a reduction in downtime due to server errors and maintenance issues. It also gives the user a faster connection in the front line.
  • We went from server-based Maximo to the SaaS version and we a massive reduction in downtime as well as much faster connection to server in remote areas
  • At this point in our journey, being only one year in, we have not come up with any issues or examples of a need to improve
We work in remote locations, and using our own network with internal security hurt us with internet speeds. The downside to cloud-based is that there is no offline use, which is a massive need in the mining industry.

IBM Maximo is used by one of our customers primarily to centrally track and manage work order requests, labor hours, and materials used for a work order. My involvement with Maximo has been to integrate Maximo with external data systems.
  • Incredibly flexible interface
  • Incredibly flexible backend options for data integration.
  • Difficulty with certain nuances such as overriding a default flag for unapproved/approved labor.
For a couple of our clients, Maximo is used primarily for tracking work order requests for services from IT work to work that requires manual services. Although Maximo has some robust financial ledger and time tracking features, I don’t think it is meant to replace a financial ERP or time keeping payroll system.

IBM is used to manage maintenance tasks on mining equipment. It is used across multiple orgs and sites globally.
  • It can be customized to meet specific process needs.
  • It is very flexible to handle management of any kind of asset.
  • It is easy to manage new site set ups.
  • It is a comparatively expensive solution.
  • There are system problems/constraints moving assets back and forth between sites.
It is very suitable managing mobile (equipment) assets. The challenge has been when work needs to be performed on an unknown asset that isn’t already set up in the system.

IBM Maximo was used company wide for purchasing tracking. All areas of the company interfaced with it in some way.
  • It shows detail transactions for user to access.
  • It also allows detail in accounting for accruals.
  • It is user friendly to novice users.
  • It also interfaces with other systems well.
  • Inventory mgt control
  • The interface could be adjusted to be more welcoming.
  • More can report options.
Large companies benefit well from the tool for inventory and purchasing. The level of hands after setup is minimal.

Maximo is currently used to track all compliance and non-compliance maintenance activities in the field. The company’s goal is that all work done to maintain the safety and reliability of the pipeline is logged in Maximo. Maximo is also used to track Safety, Security, Theft and Pipeline events for the entire organization.
  • Management of change
  • Work tracking
  • Preventative maintenance tracking
  • Mobility
  • Spatial and GIS integration
  • Integration with IBM Analytics
Maximo is well suited for enterprise work management. It has worked well to bring visibility into the field maintenance activities.

I help customers in using IBM Maximo. Usually the need comes from a better utilization of their assets, but also to analyze the different data they have. We perform requirements analysis and then we help them implement the product. Typical processes are regarding ticket management, work order management, warehousing, purchasing and preventive maintenance.
  • Workflow management; can adapt Maximo to the company's rules
  • User interface is very good since Maximo 7.6.1 version
  • Easy management of work orders and preventive maintenance
  • Dashboard to meet license metrics with real software users
  • Functionalities about start centers
  • Usability of QBR Reporting
It will be well suited in complex structures where there is the need to implement a specific workflow, automate the process and digitalize it. It is very helpful for companies managing many or complex assets, and where there are differente maintenance teams or there is the need of powerful analysis and statistics. It won't be good in small companies because maybe for them Maximo is too complex.

The whole organization uses IBM Maximo. We were looking for a tool to manage all our assets and all our colleagues recommended it. It is not a very user-friendly software but it is very useful for tracking of all of our equipment. We need to be very careful with our maintenance schedules and we have solved this with Maximo. Also, the workflows are very easy to make.
  • Maintenance schedules.
  • Easy management of all assets.
  • World-class software.
  • Improve the look and feel.
IBM Maximo is well suited if your company has too many assets to keep track of maintenance.

IBM Maximo was used as a system for ticketing as Information Technology Helpdesk Supports. We used it as our main source of workflow, allowing us to transfer tickets from one person to other depending on the responsibilities that person has. It was used throughout department and other departments such as maintenance, but we focused on our own department.
  • Easy ticket/device management
  • Easy to matrix and apply problems to those with the proper responsibilities
  • Easy communication
  • Overwhelming UI
  • Small curve of learning at beginning
  • Some features are hard to explain to others
Most definitely Maximo is great for businesses where ticketing is much needed, such as IT, maintenance, project management. It allows a good business-level communication.
