The IBM power systems are really appreciable all the time, and there are many types of powerful servers, and all of the servers are unique. Each one has its own specialty. The big difference that we saw is about the latency itself, and it seems to be like all the other functionalities are acceptable.

A small factory with a few people can use this system, and it can scale up to thousands of users with ease. You can really throw a lot at this box, and it will still keep humming, which is wonderful. The utilization of it across numerous departments and even organizations is fantastic. At one of the businesses I worked for, we hosted numerous corporations on a single sizable power system, and we had ZERO issues.

It really depends on each client and what they have regarding hardware and software. If the client has a partnership with IBM or is using IBM software, usually they go with IBM hardware. If the client is a Dell partner, it usually goes with Dell hardware running Linux, and so on.

The main advantage is that it keeps complicated environments and apps in use included. Other servers either wouldn't allow me to use them or wouldn't let me use them smoothly enough, but this server was heavy and packed with features.

IBM Power System Virtual Server is well suited for SAP HANA, Oracle Database, and ERP systems. IBM Power System Virtual Server also provides better compatibility with Veritas NetBackup to manage all other servers' application data backups. IBM Power Server works well in the banking sector because it is easily managed and runs millions of operations daily without any performance issues. IBM Power Server support is a bit costly so it may not be recommended for small organizations.

The IBM Power System server is unrivalled in its class when it comes to management and integration of external devices like tape libraries and storage units. Regardless of whether it's for Linux or IBM, you can plug-and-play after the initial, straightforward installation. The S924 runs quietly and efficiently, with many cores and memory slots for your business applications.

I have not used other systems. I was involved in the creation of the RISC 6000 AIX version 3 since 1989. We have seen many companies come over to IBM Power servers after experiencing the capabilities of the AIX operating system. The systems are physically stable, Firmware (Hypervisor) and Operating System. Security is outstanding.

IBM Power System S922 [has] given us a single platform where we can create more than one virtual server and install multiple application and oracle date base[s] in an independent OS system with high system performance. We were able to consolidate our business application on [a] single system without any major error.

The IBM Power System LC922 performed admirably when dealing with massive datasets without the complication of a cloud environment. I feel that the IBM Power System LC922 exceeds the majority of hardware suppliers in terms of both performance and customer service. In comparison to any other vendor we now employ, the simplicity with which we can file trouble cases and receive either assistance or replacement hardware from IBM is far greater.
