Data inserted in Microsoft Excel can be easily inserted into SPSS for further analysis. Significant resources are needed for data collection and data analysis, report preparation, and decision-making, which is very important for any researcher for their research, and SPSS makes it easy for me as well in this regard.

SPSS is the product that researchers use to compare and analyze data. It has the most options and allows a researcher to do any test needed.

Experience with the product in university. I already knew it, it had a short learning curve for even advanced features and it could do almost everything I needed. Reducing startup time was invaluable.

The single most important factor in my decision to use IBM SPSS is that it was offered to me for free through my affiliation with the university I work for. It is also the program that my co-researchers from other universities prefer. Since we work on data analysis together, it makes sense to use the same program.

The company I work for is highly regulated and to start using a new product is pretty near impossible. However, people were already using SPSS here when I was hired so getting a license was easier. SPSS is a good enough product, albeit a little archaic in the user interface compared to some of my other preferred analytics software.

I came to this organization SPECIFICALLY because they were an SPSS shop. It was already here when I arrived, and as a consummate user of the software and the organization's SPSS administrator I plan to keep on using it here. Truth be told, SPSS is THE analytics tool I use, and I won't work anyplace that won't allow me to purchase a license, if you are hiring me you are hiring IBM SPSS to do the analytics! And I think there need to be more analysts like us.
