The platform's emphasis on easy adoption, requiring minimal coding skills, likely contributes to positive user experiences. Easily managing the tool with a drag and drop option and customizable dashboard.

Generally speaking, IBM Watson Discovery is a no-code technology for non-technical audiences; however, when it comes to integrations and extensions with other tools, users might need to leverage some APIs that require some low-code work, some understanding of JSON files and API calls as well as some familiarity with OpenAPIs and Command Line Interface (CLI).

If we consider only the core function, Watson Discovery does not differ much from alternative systems, as they all have a web interface, the possibility of different indexing types and file formats, and an API for automatic integration with third-party systems, and even fewer resources such as Per-user permission control, as there are situations where not all documents can be accessed by all users, or to use on-premise on local servers or in a private cloud. Its differential lies in the improvement in the use of Natural Language (NLU) and in the easy integration with other IBM products, such as Watson Assistant, allowing a chatbot, in addition to pre-programmed responses, to return to the user material contained in documents indexed by Discovery.

IBM Watson Discovery is low code, but I would not say it is no code. Having said that, the user interface has definitely improved over the last few years and certainly more business user friendly today than previously. Users definitely need to read the developer documentation and or Corbus Greyling blogs to fully understand and implement the product.

A non-technical person can easily get used to IBM Discovery because of its well-responsive UI. The overall application is well descriptive, and each section has all the information about each and every feature. This makes this tool very user-friendly.
