IBM Watson Discovery is helping us in building production -ready tools that perform semantic searches. By combining the power of NLP, it creates documentation pipelines that define data flows & also the sentiments of our end users.
It's not suitable for firms that are not yet digitized in terms of documentation.

If your main goal is to only analyse data that only includes texts, then you should go with IBM Watson Discovery as it is really good at it and the API that it provides is really powerful and analyses almost every types of file. But if your data includes images, then IBM Watson Discovery may not be the best choice for you as it struggles with OCR.

There are several software that would sort, trim and analyse your data but we wanted to get the report of the analysed data in graphs and IBM Watson Discovery does display your reports in graphs if you need them to be. So if you need such functionality then you should go with it though the cost is quite high due to it's heavy resource consumption.

You have lots of sold items data and you look for patterns that would been useful for your customers (usually e-shops). In this case, that's great to process with stability massive amounts of information and finding answers to questions still not asked.

Also business as usual insights are provided in a reasonable time. What still should be clearer, imho, that's how to the process performs internally and if we are doing good or poor use of the tool (also an AI based advisor would be great).

IBM Watson Discovery has been very helpful in providing references when we amended policies and regulations. Later, we also applied it by making our standard operating procedures per each platform and program we used. We were initially reluctant to try it, but it's a good thing that Watson offers a free trial.

We have successfully managed to reduce manual work by over 80%, and now our SMEs are being used for the skills they have to gather insights rather than do manual work.

Whether using it as a standalone search tool, integrating with other IBM Watson products, or using the API to integrate with proprietary or third-party systems and applications, Watson Discovery addresses these and many other scenarios where document search is required -- understand- if here documents can be pdf, doc, txt files, websites, among other formats --, don't confuse Watson Discovery with EDRMS (Electronic document and records management system) software, Discovery goes further, allowing text search to be done within a context using natural language (NLU) and returning not only the search term but also insights and related issues. File indexing works very well, and training Discovery so that documents and technical terms are learned a bit of work, but it can be reduced by using some of the learning models already trained and available for use.

Watson Discovery worked well with Watson Assistant. It unlocked the following capabilities: FAQs: Retrieve relevant information based on user inputs/intent recognition. Allowed Watson Assistant to make recommendations / upsell based on our partnerships /supplier offerings. Rather than have to maintain static content and update it whenever things changed, we simply enabled web crawl or deep linking.

If you have a ChatBot that is built using IBM Watson and you have to extend it by your knowledge articles, then IBM Discovery is the best. If you want to manage your knowledge articles as a standalone application, then I would prefer a different platform rather than IBM Discovery.

Watson Discovery can be quickly introduced into the enterprise, with no need for someone who is proficient in NLP technology, and a good UI design can assist the business side to quickly conduct NLP analysis and understand the analysis results.

This software is great that helping us to read the bulk of documents. We have used IBM Watson discovery to extract the data from a portable document format with our desired components. In my using experience IBM Watson Discovery text reader with the power of AI suggestions and get more useful insights.

IBM Watson Discovery is great in terms of retrieving the relevant documents. It's fast in ingesting the documents and in responding to queries. It will work well and it will be cost-efficient when dealing with few large documents. However, the cost grows significantly as the number of documents increases. Which was the case in our solution as we have a lot of very small documents.

It is well suited to help with automation and artificial intelligence solutions. This provides a lot of help and insight into how we should best position and utilizes our software. They are advanced and so helpful in making our processes smoother. They have a lot of good features. For one-off emails, we don't need IBM Watson Discovery, but for longer campaigns, it is super helpful to have.
