Usability

Overall product usability is good due to its ease of use for new developers, which is a plus point because it is slightly easier for inexperienced system admins, due to its ease of installation on modern Windows OS. A single person can maintain the Microsoft IIS server, which makes administration more convenient for small sized teams.

Microsoft IIS is a very intuitive tool and quite easy to use. Most of its main features are located in the GUI. It is only when you get in to some of the more advanced feature sets that you will need to view logs or use the command line tools to complete a task.

Microsoft Internet Services (IIS) overall is a solid product and is used by a lot of enterprises. We're a heavy user and will continue to be a heavy user for our medium-size loads. Like other tools, it fits a good profile and we have gotten very good at selecting it for that profile.

Usability

As I've mentioned earlier, Microsoft IIS is very simple and easy to use. The user interface is a little bit overloaded with a huge number of different options, but once you have a little clue of what you are doing and what you need - no issues at all.

Usability is "ok" for some out-of-the-box functionality, it becomes more cumbersome when you really need to start customizing settings and permissions. A plus for the IIS platform in general is that many applications that run on top of IIS will automatically configure IIS for you when you install the application which prevents the need for advanced customization.
