iMovie - Enabling Mac Users Everywhere to Edit Video
- One of the most commonplace ways we use iMovie is to teach young editors or clients with no video experience how to edit. It's usually something an Apple owner already has access to, whether on their phone, ipad, or mac - so you can almost always direct them to pull it up and get started right away.
- Considering there is no extra cost to use iMovie, there is little to no investment so that's a big plus. Apple updates their software regularly and make it so automated that you hardly know it has happened. This saves a ton of time and energy towards keeping your computer and software functioning 100%
- I hesitate to say we use it for this, but if you ever need to create well designed graphics for video - iMovie is a bit too limiting - you get what you pay for here. You're better off designing your graphics in another platform or using a different editor entirely as the templates are not great, nor that customizable.
- iMovie is free along with any Mac hardware. So as long as you can afford a MacBook, you are sorted on the software cost. We had Macs, so we were sorted.
- iMovie is a top-notch native software made by Apple. So overall stability and performance is great. We never lost data.
- We were able to fully edit and churn out 20 to 40 mins of video every day with even an intern working on iMovie.
IMovie is great for newbies!
- Social media videos are wildly impactful when producing higher engagement and results. Most videos we use on social are created in iMovie.
- We use iMovie to help tell our brand story in a way our guests want to watch. Our brand awareness has grown because of the video content we have published on social media.
Effective, but has its limitations
- iMovie allowed us to create basic video productions with minimal initial investment.
- By implementing video content on social media, noticed moderate to significant increase in social media traffic and interaction
iMovie can help small business owners compete
- I send out approximately 48 videos a year to my subscribers. It has definitely helped convert prospects to clients.
- Since I upload to YouTube and have a tracker on WP, I can easily see the # of views per video.
- iMovie helps me stay current as we see upward trends in video marketing.
Start with Great Video, Then Personalize It With iMovie.
- Immediate positive return from how simple IMovie is to use.
- There were a couple of features we had a bigger, initial learn that word curve than expected, but the Apple store team were there to accelerate things for us.
iMovie is perfect for beginners and simple clips!
- iMovie has been useful for the basic needs we’ve employed it for: app demo video
- Splicing together ad shots for our app
- Producing short clips that were easy and quick to make, to share on social media
I do it with iMovie
- None at all. iMovie is ridiculously inexpensive when you measure how much you can get done.
Easy to Use, Inexpensive, No Frills Video Editing
- iMovie is a very inexpensive alternative to other video editing software.
- It's very easy to train new users on iMovie, so time is saved there.
- We started a project where we were tasked to create a new 5 minute video every week. We started with little to no knowledge of video editing, but iMovie was so easy to pick up and use that we were able to start filming and putting together videos right away. If we had to learn a more complex program, like Premiere Pro, it would have pushed our timeline back considerably.
Captures Your "Inner Spielberg"
- iMovie let us meet our deadline and exceed our client's expectations with our first project. We were on a tight deadline to deliver a final cut on a high profile celebrity interview. We had it on an mp4 but there were several edits we had to make, and there was no time to retake. No other solution we looked at fit our needs for easy-to-use and accuracy of editing without losing the core content.
- iMovie exceeded our expectations even more after our first project by allowing us to deep dive into all that it now allowed us to do. We created many new revenue offerings by adding voiceover, our own music and getting super creative with all of our outtakes from our existing content. It allows our entire creative team to be fearless at trying new things without worrying about corrupting the original content. Our first project paid off the original investment, so all of that new revenue was ours to keep as margin.
- iMovie does what we wish all technology did - its job! We can keep our creative teams doing what they do best and not have them waste expensive time and brainshare wrestling with technology.
