I utilize Indeed Resume heavily as one of the recruiting tools at my disposal in order to help source talent. I've found that Indeed Resume typically works pretty well for positions that are a little more high volume (customer service reps, technicians, labor, administrative.)
  • Extremely easy to use interface
  • Very responsive customer service support
  • Ability to control your own budget
  • When selecting through candidates it feels like it takes a few extra steps than needed.
  • Not a way to delete a batch of messages at once.
I think Indeed Resume is well suited if you're a budget conscious individual looking to fill 3-4 jobs at a time. The analytics that Indeed provides good data on cost per click metrics and things like that. I don't think Indeed Resume is as effective if you're trying to fill say, 10+ jobs and you have a budget of $500/month. It's tough to get traction in that regard and your budget will most likely get chewed up without having too much to show in the way of results.

  • Indeed has saved me a ton of time by allowing me to save various templates for pitching candidates.
  • I've found that candidates are usually pretty responsive on Indeed as well.
I think Indeed Resume and ZipRecruiter are pretty comparable products. I ultimately prefer Indeed Resume for flexibility. If I have one critical position to fill I can pour my entire budget into that one role and ensure that it gets maximum visibility (within my budget constraints of course.) With ZipRecruiter I feel like you have fewer options to choose from. Also, the pause fee that ZipRecruiter charges is a preposterous money grab.
I think Indeed Resume is a very solid resume sourcing tool. I'm pretty much never going to give anything a 10/10 especially software related, but Indeed is just about perfect [for] what I need.
It's made it pretty easy to build custom projects both for current needs and future hiring goals.

My account manager/rep is very proactive in terms of keeping me in the loop on promotions that Indeed has going on as well as being available for any niche questions I may have about my account.
Overall I'm pretty pleased with Indeed Resume and the support I receive. I have some minor nitpicks but everything is pretty customizable depending on your hiring needs.

Recruiting as well as sales managers & general managers. These roles are often looking to fill spots for salespeople as well as sales managers. These are members apart of the sales teams and general management team, but there are officials in the company who work in accounting as well as the finance teams. The primary driver for using Indeed Resume is to find candidates that have the resume we're looking for, without them having to apply.

In our organization, we use Indeed Resume to search for candidates that meet the criteria for the position we're trying to hire for. This allows us to be one of the first employers that reach out to these candidates. It also allows us to lower the barrier of entry because these candidates don't have to apply for the role when we reach out to them. It's nice that the tools allow you to set up search criteria, and then save the search so that the system remembers your preferences. The system can also set up a trigger to notify you when a new resume that meets your search criteria is updated or posted so that you can be the first employer to reach out.
  • Applicant testing
  • Resume search
  • Recruiting automations
  • Automation limitations
If you'd like to find a specific type of applicant for a recurring position, you can set up a search criterion that delivers new persons' resumes to your inbox at whatever interval you'd like. If you'd like to search for persons with relevant experience in their resumes, you can. If you'd like to search for persons who have worked at a specific company or in a specific role, you can. This tool allows you to filter down the candidates based on when their resume was updated, the last employer they worked for, and many more details. Ultimately, if you can conceive an ideal candidate on paper, theoretically, you could set up a search to find that candidate.

  • Decreased time spent searching for applicants.
  • Increased return on investment for recruiting.
  • Decreased churn of new hires.
We have been able to organize our pipelines of candidates quite easily using Indeed Resume because you can create folders/lists for specific projects or roles. We typically organize our projects based on open roles and location. This has allowed us to keep a pipeline of qualified candidates per position in each location so that we can manage their status. We can move candidates to interested, not interested, disqualified, and many more. You can also set up the system to send automatic reminders which has been helpful.
We used to rely heavily on the recruiter that we have on the team, and her partner... but now we have rolled out the Indeed Resume tool to all our middle-management which has increased our efficiency and time saved IMMENSELY. Instead of having just two people recruiting for 14 offices, we now have ~20 people recruiting for the offices. This has allowed us to scale at a much faster pace, all with reduced time spent per location/aggregate.
In truth, we have stuck with Indeed Resume and have not ventured off yet due to the power and simplicity that we have with this single tool. The various aspects of this one tool allow us to simplify our recruit stack so we don't need a variety of tools, thus decreasing the time spent hopping between platforms. We have ADP for some recruiting, but it's limited in its ability... which is why we have stuck with Indeed Resume for so long, even expanding our use of it across the company.
For anyone with a basic understanding of software, I am confident that you could understand the basic functionalities of this tool within a short time. For those looking to explore the automation and advanced features, some research/tutorials are recommended so you don't spend more time than necessary setting these up. I believe someone could figure it out on their own, but with such an expansive reservoir of resources, your time is better spent doing some basic research prior to setting up automation.
Indeed Resume has allowed us to quickly create a shortlist of qualified candidates that we would like to pursue as viable options for employment. As stated in previous areas, the automation tools that Indeed Resume has allow us to have this generated for us with little to no effort (other than the upfront setup). With shortlist creation done semi-automatically, the recruiting cycle has been cut down to a short window. When we have an opening we can very quickly generate a list of qualified persons in addition to traditional job posting options.

The people who are using Indeed Resume in our organization serve several different functions. Mainly, these are sales managers and general managers who are recruiting for their respective locations. The main set of users that are utilizing this tool is the sales managers who are looking to recruit new sales talent. The secondary user group that utilizes this software is our recruiting team which looks to fill openings for the rest of the company (all departments).
3
The users/people that are support users for this product are the recruiting manager and her team (2 people). There are a few power-users in the general manager's group, but mainly, most folks will defer to the recruiting team if there are questions/support issues. The folks on this team have the most experience with the tool as they are utilizing it every day, versus the general managers or sales managers who might use it a few times per month.
  • Searching for your ideal candidate for an open position
  • Establishing a turnkey system that automatically delivers candidates that fit your idea
  • Creating a manageable pipeline for your recruiting
  • We expanded our recruiting efforts laterally by implementing this across management divisions.
  • Establishing projects/campaigns for specific roles
  • Setting up saved searches for ideal candidates that notify managers when a new candidate matches that criteria
  • I anticipate we will expand the user group to allow for more users across divisions to self-recruit versus being reliant on just the recruiting team
  • With the automation that this tool allows, I anticipate we will establish more saved searches that notify key roles/managers of potential talent as resumes are updated - this will allow us to be first to recruit a potential candidate.
We have implemented this tool across several management divisions and locations as of today, so I don't anticipate us canceling our subscription. With the upcoming pricing changes, we are looking at ways that we can stricken the user of the software, but we have seen such benefits from it that we simply cannot go without it as of today.
  • General Entry-Level
  • Contractors
We were looking to hire project managers, technicians, as well as salespeople. The projected compensation for these positions was $50,000 salary as well as commissioned positions.
No
When I was set up with the account I didn't quite know how to post, recruit, manage applicants, etc - Their tools and team were quite helpful. If you need to know how to filter resumes for specific applicant experience and or work history, they have tools to quickly learn how to do that. They also have helpful docs to quickly understand certain features and benefits so you can get back to doing what really matters and not spending all your time learning their software.
This tool allows you to do so much for such an affordable rate. If you want to scoop up your competition's talent, you can filter searches for resumes for people who have or currently work at their business. You can also you Bollinger searches for individuals who have experience with a specific type or word. And my favorite, you can set up search criteria that alert you of any new resumes with specific criteria so you are first to reach out.

Highly Recommend.

We currently use Indeed Resume to identify talent for our organization. We are currently using it with a team of three in our sourcing department. It helps identify alternative sources of candidates.
  • Identifies talent that appear no where else.
  • Identifies talent that is available right now.
  • Not to be so expensive.
  • Go back like during the pandemic to utilize free sources of candidates.
It is much better for positions in the mid-future not immediately.

  • It did quite well when portions were free.
  • Identified talent who is available now.
Our recruiters use the projects to put all the candidates in the correct folders and track their communication with them. Either via emails or through the UI in the system
Yes, it appears that this is newest best place to find candidates. It has quickly taken to be at least 25 if not 50% of our hiring pool
It does a pretty good job of keeping things organized
We use Indeed as part of our tools, but it is becoming increasingly more of that marketing budget
It works well, is easy to use, and provides enough general knowledge to work. Would like an integration with our current ATS.
Based on our views, we can't use it to create shortlists. This is more of a one-off for hard-to-find purple squirrels.

  • Prior Experience with the Product
Even though pricy, the results we received from our time using the product at a cheaper price during the pandemic showed how well it performed. Unfortunately the price did go up and some of the uses went a way (getting credits back for positive interactions with candidates for example)
I can't think of a way. Wish they would have been more negotiable especially to a small minority owned business

Yes, recently they came to us with a deal, as part of taking that deal we had to rearrange the seats, we just recently got a new rep, and their team was very helpful in making sure that the accounts were setup correctly.
Cause they have done an awesome job in taking care of any support questions I have had.
  • Searching, either by job title, or taking my boolean string
  • Narrowing down candidates with UI elements versus having to using even more complicated boolean strings
  • Ability to chose certain background or years of experience or schooling very similar to UI functionality of the job boards.
  • In certain job titles additional ui elements to narrow further would be helpful.
  • MY GOD, can we get an ideal salary range for candidates
  • Further diversity tools would be helpful
Yes, but I don't use it
While we don't need it to scale, I see how easy it would be to separate by departments and projects
Never had a moment where it was down or not available. and I do a lot of recruiting at night.

  • Large applicant pool for roles we need filled quickly.
  • Easy platform.
  • Adoption of easy transfer to Fountain.com.
It needs improvement, especially on its paid feature. I didn’t see any improvement in the applicant pool on the sponsored job postings. Also, there was a lack of support in setting up a good posting.
Okay, usage in the applicant pool, however, the pool was not the most qualified.

The recruiting team is using Indeed Resume. We have 5 accounts. We are trying to reach candidates that are not applying to us.
  • Reach candidates who don't know our company
  • Reach candidates that just updated their resume
  • No real issues other than candidates that say they are looking but don't reply or don't call you back when you do try to call them.
  • Also, there could be more contacts allocated for the price. Then purchasing additional is expensive - 100 for $200.
  • There isn't a way to buy in bigger bulk.
  • No non-profit pricing.
We have a lot of frontline positions and we can reach out to these candidates easily in Indeed Resume.

  • We are able to reach more candidates using Indeed Resume.
Indeed Resume typically sources less professional candidates. People on LinkedIn are more apt to respond for professional level positions.
It is quite user friendly and we have a good process now of getting interested candidates into our ATS.
We are able to easily do this, if they respond to our sourcing email. Without these resumes, our applicant pool would be virtually dry.
