VISUAL - Not so obvious. Look elsewhere.
Pros
- Part/BOM libraries
- Traceability from customer order to work order
- Job status representation
Cons
- Click through is not intuitive and often takes multiple clicks/open windows to get information on the availability of a specific part
- Infor operates on proposed availability rather than actual. If a work order is late to the due date, Infor still treats the material as if it is available
- Engineering changes are cumbersome. Manual changes required of parts and assemblies in your library
Return on Investment
- On the positive side, we are able to track actual cost of products to make educated product strategy decisions based on profitability.
- On the negative side, we have required a lot of outside support to write macros and outside reports in order to get valuable data. Additionally, we have struggled to get 3rd party software to communicate effectively with VISUAL to support transportation/logistics, product configuration, labor tracking, etc.
Other Software Used
