Reveal was purchased in order to distribute company reports to the sales team. Currently, only part of the Board of Directors and a small part of the sales team use Reveal with the company dashboards to allow us to carry out a specifically targeted development in this sector. The goal of this tool is to provide our sales staff with a complete picture of the customer by following him efficiently, with a few clicks) in quotes, orders, sales, payments, promotions, etc. Other developments concern the top tier of the corporate hierarchy, starting from the CDA, to the managers of the territory and those of division. In this case, the information is more extensive and ranges from commercial to logistical aspects, to purchases, to the situation of the warehouse and staff.
  • It is simple to set-up.
  • It is simple to connect to Microsoft Analysis Services.
  • It is easy to create effective reports, maintain them and share them.
  • In the different Web, Android and iOs versions I have encountered some bugs or crashes that once reported have been resolved by technical support. The desktop version seemed the most stable and the one on which it is easier to proceed with the development.
  • Although there are different ways of proposing data, they are not very customizable, such as visible / non-visible labels, values in visible / non-visible graphs, choice of the type of labels to be displayed on the axes, etc.
  • It would certainly be useful to be able to carry out a development of the brochures in the desktop or web version that allows you to have a preview of what the dashboard could be like in a smartphone or tablet in the different screen sizes and resolutions.
Having a rather competitive cost per single annual license, I recommend it to anyone who has to distribute company reports to a certain number of collaborators. Compared to other competitors that have less accessible costs, it certainly has less choice in the graphs, tables to show; the links between prospects are also less advanced than in other competitors.

  • It is not currently easy to define in numerical terms the benefits produced by this technology. It certainly allows many people to save a lot of time to get all the information they need. A more precise evaluation we could do as soon as the project is completed with reference to all users who will have this technology.
The configuration of Reveal is quite simple and intuitive like connecting to data and developing reports.
The manuals are quite complete. The consultation of the manuals is immediate given the correct development of the topics. The interface is very simple to understand and intuitive to use. The Italian translation of some parts leaves some doubts.
Reveal, compared to its competitors, has a much lower cost if we consider an audience of 100-130 end users. Not only is the initial/annual cost the advantage of Reveal, but also the simplicity of configuration, use and production of the reports. The other competitors have wider and more complete charts / tables available, but certainly at an excessive cost.

CEO, BI developer, sales agents

For the configuration part, once established how to create infragistics accounts and how to connect users to data, no special knowledge is required; a junior developer is sufficient. Even for the development part of the prospectuses, it is not necessary to be a programmer to be able to develop it; in our case it is necessary to know how to build excel reports from the cubes of Microsoft Analysis Services and to have a bit of knowledge on the types of charts available with Reveal; even non-IT personnel can manage this aspect.
  • dashboards dedicated to CEOs
  • dashboards dedicated to sales agents
  • dashboards dedicated to branch managers in the area and division managers
  • Reveal offered a simple tool to manage, even if with different limitations compared to its competitors, but with an acceptable business cost.
  • Considering everything it has an excellent quality / price ratio and has a good connection to the cubes of Microsoft Analysis Services.
  • Users who are guinea pigs for the project are comfortable with this tool.
  • Expand reports to all sales staff
  • Give more information through Reveal to the members of the Board of Directors and to the managers of the commercial districts.
  • Involve the points of sale managers in the area in the Reveal project with specific reports
As a developer of the project, I feel comfortable with this tool for its peculiarities: acceptable costs, simple configuration, creation and maintenance of simple reports, fairly complete account management, also, not least, I appreciate the work done by their technical support always timely intervention and, above all, resolutive. Furthermore, as far as end users are concerned, I found a good appreciation of the proposed reports.
Yes
In reality, Reveal has not replaced the other corporate BI tools (Board, Qlik Sense), but has filled an important part of it to make the reports available to a greater number of people and at an acceptable cost. It has integrated well with Microsoft Analysis Services and this has been very important for my company.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
Reveal is certainly the product that has the best characteristics for the problem that we had to solve in the distribution of corporate reports to an important number of users. The technical characteristics of the product and the ease with which it connects to Microsoft Analysis Services made us take it into consideration. The feature that played an important role is the cost of the individual licenses.

In my company the evaluation process of a product for BI is carried out with a careful evaluation of the technical aspects. In the specific case, we evaluate which are the limits of the product and which are the characteristics that must not be missing. Reveal helped us because we were already from ReportPlus which also in the free version, with due limitations, allowed us to test its features well. As Reveal has improved many aspects of ReportPlus, the transition has been inevitable.
  • Implemented in-house
No
Change management was minimal
Reveal has not changed the way we handle problems, it helps us understand where the problems are in order to solve them.
  • No problems found in particular attributable to the usability of the product. A few bugs slowed down the implementation but did not create major delays.
None in particular, however, would be welcome if improvements were made in the personalization of the prospects and in the connection between them (perhaps being able to transfer the selections present in one prospect to another recalled by the first).
  • no training
I can safely recommend this type of approach to anyone interested in the product. It is easy and intuitive and, once you understand the operation of the initial configuration, you can proceed without further delay. You can get more information from the manuals made available by Infragistics, but only to "refine" your dashboards.
The product configuration allows you to use it properly. It may be convenient to be able to define a default connection to be used in all dashboards, except in those where you intend to use a customized one, specific for that dashboard. This is convenient for those who, at company level, are responsible for producing company dashboards for other groups of users, seeing the results based on the type of user to whom the dashboards are intended.
There are no particular things to consider. The configuration of the connections is typical of the server you are connecting to. In Reveal, the configuration follows that of the server, in my case Microsoft Analysis Services.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
No - we have not done any custom code
No customization to report, I used the product for its peculiarities and tools without adding anything to what is available.
No
I expect support to worry that the product works for what it makes available. I don't need particular developments or faster response times than current ones. On the other hand, they will also have to do product development and bug fixes, otherwise we feel free to choose products from other competitors that best meet our needs.
Yes

The technical support was effective and timely, I was a few days with the reported problems, then they solved them. I can only congratulate those guys who worked to solve the problems and make sure that everything worked after the report.
The problems encountered were the following: I had added 4 more users to my subscription to be able to assign as I developed the pilot projects. Without the subscription, paid the invoice for these new licenses, I realized that I could not distribute them. Fixed this problem, always with these licenses distributed, I had problems in assigning one to a user who was already a client of Infragistics but of ReportPlus (as I was initially); this too has been solved. Another bug that they corrected was related to the export of the dashboards in the proprietary format of Infragistics which was in error on the iOs (Apple) version of the product. Fortunately they were able to understand the problems encountered, take care of the problems and distribute them to the most suitable people within their staff, solve problems quickly, report any delays in solving the problem but give time and make sure you have solved the problem with who raised it.
  • Develop reports
  • Set up new accounts
  • No operations in particular, they are all simple and immediate, as far as I could see.
Yes

I normally use the Android and iOs versions of Reveal without particular problems, I use the desktop for convenience, especially in the development of reports and their distribution. I have also tried the web version, albeit rarely, but it seems to work well. I don't think they can have other versions ...
This evaluation is the result of the fact that I have not had the opportunity to deepen the Reveal interface with other tools and / or other software, so the evaluation that I am giving follows what I have been able to read regarding the characteristics of the product online.
This assessment is due to the fact that I have not yet found Reveal not available for use. Apart from some problems of development crash, then fixed by the product assistance service, I have not found any particular problems or loss of time caused by the instrument.
The pages load rather quickly even in the presence of several elevations in the same dashboard that insist on different data sources and with visualizations that insist on different types of graph. I can only be satisfied with these performances.
  • Microsoft Analysis Service
There were no problems with Microsoft Analysis Services data integration with Reveal. After creating the connection, the creation of the dashboards is intuitive. The only problem encountered is in the number of "rows" that the product can display: it is not always possible to display tables containing many rows. It happens that you have to limit the display to grouped situations and then move on to further details.
  • At the moment I have no such needs.
I am unable to answer this question; I don't have the necessary knowledge.
  • File import/export
  • Single Signon
I haven't had any other additions to develop.
The integrations used are the simplest ones, so it was not difficult to integrate the results obtained with Reveal.

I have no advice on the additions I have used.
There was no need to contact the resellers, the various purchase processes took place online and via email for billing.
The relationship with the seller was simple because practically zero. The test of the product and the choice were made directly online; for which the salesperson was necessary only for the purpose of invoicing and managing the licenses for the same account (then distributed to other accounts).
There was no bargaining on Reveal. I purchased the product initially, then integrated with other licenses to be distributed at its list price which, in the period in which I made the purchase, already provided for a discount.
No particular report to make to the seller.
No
  • The updates made on Reveal were only features, they were not version changes.
  • Greater flexibility in the configuration of accounts, dashboards.
  • Greater availability of data visualization tools.
  • The possibility of having less stringent display limits.
No
Yes
I started from ReportPlus in its free version, then I went to the paid version, always of ReportPlus which also provided, without additional charges, the use of Reveal. At this point, Reveal has become the tool I use most often.
